Handanovic (Radu, Padelli)
Skriniar (D'Ambrosio), De Vrij (Ranocchia), Bastoni (PIROLA)
Hakimi (LAZARO), Sensi (Vecino), Brozović (Gagliardini), Barella (AGOUME), Darmian (DI MARCO)
Lautaro (ESPOSITO), Lukaku (Pinamonti)

New player wages: Pirola (1m), Lazaro (1.5m), Agoume (1m), Di Marco (1m), Esposito (1m) = 5.5m
Staying players improved contracts: De Vrij (+1m), Brozovic (+0.5m), Skriniar (+1m), Barella (+1.5m), Lautaro (+2.5m), Bastoni (+1.5m) = 8m
Outgoing player wages: Eriksen (7.5m), Sanchez (7m), Vidal (6.5m), Perisic (5m), Nainggolan (4.5m), Kolarov (3m), Young (3m) = 36.5m

How far can this team go?

Another group stage elimination and probably finish from 4th to 6th. Having Sensi as a starter would be a huge gamble considering his fitness issues and the bench is utter shit. You have literally no one to bring from the bench.

with 100% fit sensi, lukaku and lautaro we could win serie a again and out in the group stage in CL

but if sensi or lukaku would miss some games, we would be fucked- top4 in serie a only

Totally agree.

Maybe even Sensi will be the most important player. If he's not ready for 80% of games, then we're fucked.

No problems with that team except and older Lukaku bench option and selling Eriksen would be a mistake.

If we're staying the course, I'd take Biraghi/Dimarco for the WBL spot, and I'd bring Lukaku his dear brother over as backup in that spot, provided he's overcome his injury troubles. He was good enough for Lazio adding some spark as a sub, since Conte likes switching it up there he'd be useful and low cost. Contract expires next season and they set a 3m option for Antwerp now, so if we offer Lazio anything above that they'd probably say yes.

Unfortunately, we may see some sales, probably Brozovic and Lautaro, so it's not an ideal time to speculate on what may happen with the main lineup, but since money is not there to be spent, some cheap moves can help the roster become deeper.

I suspect we have an offer in place for Giroud who's free this summer as well. Wouldn't mind Stevan Jovetic returning as a "5th forward" role, effectively being Sanchez's backup. Shouldn't be very expensive given his injury track record and age, but he can still ball whenever fit, so that'd be welcome.

Yeah, Eriksen and Sanchez are really useful players now for this team. If Marotta can keep them at the club with the same or lower wages, that would be fantastic. Although I am sceptical if Alexis can have another injury free season. 5th attacker can only be a good thing.

This looks like a team capable of starting another banter era.

We don't need to make such drastic cuts - the max the media is talking about is 30m of gross wages, not 36m of NET wages.

I have no faith in Hakan as a mezzala so i believe we should give another shot to 3-4-1-2. I know it was terrible under Conte but perhaps the result could be different with Inzaghi. Since we're going to have a proper preseason it's worth a try. In case it doesn't work you can simply switch back to 3-5-2, a system players are already familiar with.

I don’t see it working with Brozo as our holding midfielder. If we had someone who was a more natural defensive midfielder to partner with Barella it could work.

I think a 3-4-2-1 could be interesting variation, similar to how Chelsea plays. Sanchez and Hakan in support of Lukaku.

Lukaku (Keith Balde?) - Martinez (Sanchez)
Calhanoglu (Sensi)
Perisic (Dimarco) - Brozovic (Gagliardini) - Barella (Vecino) - Bellerin? (Darmian)
Bastoni (Kolarov) - De Vrij (Ranocchia) - Skriniar (D'Ambrosio)
Handanovic (Cordez, Sepe?)
I suspect something like this, minimal changes from now on. Hakimi and Eriksen already gone, Inter will try to offload Vidal, Mario, Nainggolan, and maybe even Perisic to reduce wage bill and keep transfer costs low. Whether this squad can use the momentum from last season to win the Scudetto again, Idk. I have my doubts.

Scudetto probably not, but this squad is good enough to keep us in the CL. And thet is most important.
With hopefully the supporters in the stadium, a decent run in the CL and a trimmed wage bill, will we able to cut the financial losses. And maybe with the ownership solved by next year, we could begin againt to upgrade the squad.
With all this rumous and instabilty, will be the best outcome.

I disagree. For me this squad isn't even good enough for top 4. Even if we assume Hakan is great for us since day one and we can find a Hakimi replacement who has decent contribution in attack, the squad depth is pathetic in defence and midfield. This could work if we were only playing in Serie A but at least till December we're going to have two games per week. We're an injury away from making experiments in defence and we have basically no one to bring from the bench in midfield. A broken Sensi and the duo of doom, Vecino and Gagliardini. If they manage to offload Vidal, they need to bring another midfielder on loan. Hopefully an opportunity will arise in August.

I can see Perisic playing a more attacking role. Keeping the two Croatians is more important than keeping Martinez.

we were second just 2 years ago, with pretty much the same team as we have now. If they cant reach top 4 it will be a giant failure.
True, but we had a coach famous for making his shit players over perform.

Saying that, Inzaghi made Immobile win the European Golden Boot so who knows.

This team is better then that from 2 years ago: Barella, Bastoni and Lautaro are better than 2 years ago. Perisic is still better that waht we had on the left side 2 years ago (Biraghi). And is not to difficult to find someone better that the Candreva vresion from 2 years ago. Actually thsi could be the second best team we had since 2012 (except last year of course).
And I don't believe the rest of Serie A got better. With all thse coach. Juventus yes and it depends on CR7. But the rest no. Even Atalanta: they have definetely more depth, but it is difficult for them to replace Papu and Ilicic. Their only good or very good 1 vs.1 players.
So, indeed, if we don't reach top 4, it will be a giant failure.

Tbh Atalanta almost like replaced Papu and Ilicic. Other one left the club in Jabury and other one wasn't a starter anymore this season.

Atalanta will be a force if they don't have to sell too many players and they don't have to if players don't want to leave. Their pipeline is amazing. Taking those two above mentioned out and still they did well. They can sell Gosens for 35-40m€ and they have Maehle to replace him.

Assuming none of them get sold, our defense is one of the best in the world, if not the best and LaLu is one of the more feared striker duos out there.

I don’t think it’s scudetto worthy unfortunately but the squad is now battle tested and strong mentally after the scudetto success. Top 4 should be quite achievable barring a massive catastrophe.

So based on Marotta's words last night this seems to be their plan for next season.

Handanovic/Radu/Cordaz
Skriniar/D'Ambrosio - De Vrij/Ranocchia - Bastoni/Kolarov
Bellerin/Darmian - Barella/Vidal/Gagliardini - Brozovic/Agoume - Hakan/Sensi/Vecino - Telles/Dimarco
Lukaku/Keita - Lautaro/Sanchez
I also believe they will try to offload two of Vidal, Sensi and Vecino and bring another midfielder but this is going to be hard.

It will be tricky to make Arsenal and Man Utd accept loan deals but if they manage to pull it off, kudos to them. I have my doubts about Hakan and Bellerin and our squad depth in defence would remain atrocious but this wouldn't be too bad considering our financial situation.

From this team mentioned, I think desire of the club is to get rid off Vidal and Sensi. To loan Agoume. To renegotiate salaries with Perišić (so not to bring new LWB) and Sanchez. And to bring universal player like Nandez but mainly for CM (if as expected some RWB come).
