Honestly I've made peace with the fact that we couldn't sell Lukaku thus selling Hakimi and won't be able to reinforce the squad too much. So I dont mind deals like Keita as long as it's relatively low salary and loan+option to buy(given that he extends with Monaco as this is his last year of contract). As many posters here have said that he obviously has the skills and physicality so hopefully working with Simone again can help regain his form.
Is there a rule that prevents loaning a player who's in his last year of contract? Or are you suggesting that so Monaco don't lose the player? Just wondering as I was thinking why didn't we just loan out Mario for example instead of terminating his contract.

Because otherwise we'd need to pay his amortisation cost. I'm assuming any amount paid in a golden handshake would be less than the annual amortisation cost in that case.

At least that's how I understand it. My accounting knowledge comes solely from trying to understand FFP on FIF.

So Monaco doesn't lose player, loan+option doesn't make sense for a player with 1 year contract left

Nah. We still take the capital depreciation - so terminating vs free loan makes no difference either way. The reason is because we've got a gentlemans agreement where they pay us 7.5mil for another random player (or reduce a cost by that much) at a point in the future.

Generally you dont loan out a player in the last season because they're eligible to sign on a Bosman, so you wouldnt get any money for them. You're better off selling them with 12 months left, to make a little bit of cash.

Sign me up for Jovic on loan.
Only if Madrid pay his wages. Friggin guy is making €9m annually. All because he had a decent goal tally in the ugly sister of UEFA tournaments.

Is it just me but I couldn’t care less about our transfer window this summer? No matter who we are going to sign, our squad and management are still going to take a significant hit compared to what we enjoyed last season.
Even during our banter era, there was always some illusion of our team progress - “year zero” or whatever the fuck our management was calling it. But still, this tiny glimpse of hope was making me feel excited for Inter every summer. But now Bellerin for Hakimi? Ew

Yeah I think there is some truth in that. When you’re at the bottom looking up there is hope. When you’re at the top and it feels like it’s being taken from you due to powers outside your control it’s a much more deflating feeling. Especially when that little bit of release came after 10 years of misery.

I just really hope we are competitive again next year. Having to slog it out for CL places in the last match days would be pretty fucking depressing coming off a title.

Especially because in our case, we can't count on any favors.

Only Hakimi (and Eriksen) left from our Scudetto-winning squad. It's not like it was dismantled. Then the coach change is of course the biggest factor but Inzaghi is not some Pirlo level amateur.

I'm not expecting Scudetto to be honest as our rivals are getting stronger why we get a bit weaker but top 4 should be given with this squad. And finally knockout stages in CL.

Which rivals are getting stronger? Bar Juventus with a new coach and probably Locatelli, the others didn't move the needle. Somehow I doubt Mou will achieve great results at Roma.

You are underestimating the coaching role.
Mourinho >> Fonseca
Sarri >> Inzaghi
Spalletti >> Gattuso
Yeah let me tell you a sad truth: Juve & Atalanta are not our rivals next season, but Roma, Lazio, Milan and Napoli. Wait and see.

Spalletti over Gattuso at Napoli is an upgrade as well and their squad is a good fit for him. If they manage to sign a decent lb and a midfielder to start next to Ruiz i think they can do well. Obviously they won't fight for the title but i believe they will finish in top 4.

Mou, even this version of him, obviously is an upgrade over Fonseca but they have barely made any moves and they need a squad overhaul if they want to finish in top 4. I am not worried about them just yet.

I rate Sarri highly but he is going to need time at Lazio. They aren't going to be a threat this season.

I am expecting more or less the same from Pioli at Milan. Great first round and an inconsistent second round with the difference so far the squad is actually worse even though they have been one of the highest spenders in Europe.

Atalanta have kept Gasperini and most of their squad. They will probably lose Romero but i am sure they will figure it out. I am expecting them to be in the mix for top 4 again.

Top 4 isn't going to be easy. I would be more optimistic if Conte was still our coach but i have no faith in Inzaghi. The guy got out of his comfort zone for the first time in his coaching career and he is a complete unknown at the top level. There's some pressure at Lazio but let's be real. It's nowhere near the level of pressure he will face at Inter. Especially at an Inter side that just won Scudetto. I hope the guy proves me wrong and he leads us to glory.

Could he be like Manicini going from Fiorentina/Lazio to Inter?

According to GdS, Inter have set 4 targets in the transfer market. A right wingback, a left wingback, a midfielder and possibly a fourth striker. Inter's plan is to get both Bellerin and Nandez as Inzaghi sees Nandez as an option both for rwb and midfield. Inter aren't willing to offer more than 2-3m as a loan fee while Bellerin's agent is expected in Milan in the new few days to hold talks with Inter.

Beppe Riso, agent of Sensi, Radu and Dimarco, confirmed his clients are staying at Inter while he also hinted Inter are interested in Pessina.

So Gazzetta reporter came to FIF to read my post.

Jokes aside (as flex-Nandez is quite obvious), this is the way to go, but I'd definitely put an emphasis on that fourth striker. Pinamonti NEEDS to go and we need to get a striker who can play so that we can rest Lukaku, because how much can he play really? He has played shit tons of minutes during the past 2 years. Let alone possible injuries.

I feel we can get a loan deal at the end of August for some good striker. They talked in Romano's Twitch stream how they think end of August, last two weeks, will be a mayhem in the calciomercato when it comes to loan deals and possibly even swap deals.
