How many "young promising players" sold Cagliari for "big profits later" in the last decade? Except N9 to Roma and Barella, I don't know any. I may be wrong, but I don't have the patience to google it. In theory you are right, but the reality is a bit different. And this is not only about Cagliari. The majority of Serie A teams are like this. Only a few succeed in picking and developing the "right" kids: Atalanta, Fiorentina, Sasuollo and maybe the best of them Sampdoria. Sadly Fererro ia douchebag, because their scouting department is top. I would love to have their guy at Inter.

You said it yourself, the majority of Serie A clubs work like this. In these times, there simply is not enough money to create these Barella deals with big piles of cash.

He's more like a CM who can deputize at RWB. I think buying him to play RWB primarily is a little nuts.
Conte no more? PAZZA INTER AMALA

It may not be good business, but I would call Nainggolan/Cagliari's bluff and tell him to see out his contract on the bench. Also tell Cagliari to keep Nandez. Without Nainggolan, Cagliari would probably have been relegated last season. Fuck em.

Why the fuck are all of you consider Nainggolan still the pillar of Cagliari. 2 years ago, he was indeed one. But last year he missed nearly half of the seaon and contributted with only 1 fucking goal. Nandez, Marin, Joao Pedro were way better than him. In 2 years there he regressed enormously and this will continue. He is 33yo with the same behaviour as always.

No one is saying that he is a pillar for Cagliari, but he was a regular starter for them even last season. Nainggolan was one of their best players in 2019-20, then sat on Inter bench till January last season while Cagliari looked like they would get relegated without him. From Jan this year, he was a regular starter again for Cagliari.

So please tell me why we should pay Nainggolan 2m to join Cagliari?! It should be the other way around. No one is asking a big fee, however it should be somewhere between 0 to 3m, not -2m. They are taking the piss asking for 2m. Inter should call their bluff, and give 9G the choice of either joining Cagliari on a free with presumably a multi-year contract or sitting out on the Inter bench for a season which would most likely end his career.

To be precise, we aren't asking for a fee at all. We are in the process of terminating his contract. We are already taking huge book loss, 10m€.

But it's Nainggolan who's asking for the severance pay. Though I think that could be arranged with Giulini by them paying him a signing bonus or something. That should really be the case since they are indeed getting this guy for free. They already got a veteran like Godin for free year ago. We shouldn't be such charity for them.

Just hold up the deal until they make some sort of concession for Nandez. Then he can gtfo.

Though the main point of selling him is to avoid the salary payments to the player. :D So it's a bit counterproductive to keep him just for the sake of it. But Cagliari clearly wants the player, he is important for them, Radja gives this certain calmness and experience on the pitch. He's not a protagonist per se but surely an important piece of their team. Giulini understands this as their sporting director wants Radja back for sure.

The main point is avoiding salary. The more important point is not to be fucked by fucking Cagliari.

I see what you are saying. Its just so annoying to see Cagliari and Nainggolan behaviour. I would rather let him in our bench than pay him to go to the club that he want.

I am not sure Nainggolan would be so against cashing 4,5m and scretching his balls on the bench!

Yeah. Might have been better to do that earlier rather than now when his contract runs up soon.

Then again, I really don't know how Inter "disciplined" him though. He was sent on loan to Sardinia for two seasons straight while being paid partially by Inter. What's the point?
