That's kinda scapegoating a player a bit, while zhang is rubbing his hands in the background. Wouldn't blame him at all if he accepts that kinda of money.
It's typical Marotta actually. Whenever he sells a player he claims it was the player who asked to leave. Vidal. Pogba. Bonucci. He did it for all of them. He wants Lukaku to ask for the move so he can claim the player wanted to leave so they had no choice but satisfy him.

I don’t know Hakimi really hurt my soul.

it wasn’t losing Barella or Bastoni bad. But yea.

Lukaku for 100 + players isn’t a bad move. Jovic on loan. And a few other guys on loan is a gamble but if it can fix our current financial situation that’s what we need to do until fans can come back got the stadium

like people have said dude approaching 30 and this offer is never coming again.

just sucks because he wants to stay

Fuck trusting someone, I don't even think we have proper options to choose from. That's one of the reasons why chelsea is pushing so hard to close the deal.
A very good point. The reason Chelsea is willing to offer us that much money is because they have no leverage - there's simply a shortage of top class strikers.

If we sell Lukaku to Chelsea, it says a lot about where we are as a club. And that place is mediocrity, which will be cemented by the fact that our replacement will be someone no other top club is willing to bet on - such names as Zapata, Vlahovic, Jovic, Keita etc. come to mind...

This mediocrity will make Lautaro push even harder for an exit, and we're pretty much back to the banter era, albeit with a functional defense + Barella.

If the sums being thrown around are correct (and they are being reported by numerous credible sources), it’s hard to imagine we’ll turn it down. And Lukaku may not want to leave, but Chelsea is his boyhood club and I’m sure he wouldn’t turn down the chance to be a protagonist there.

Obviously we would suffer from a sporting perspective, at least in the short term, but the biggest loss would be his locker room presence and leadership. He’s a reference point for a lot of his teammates because he gets along well with basically everyone and they respect him— plus he has a ton of top-level experience and plenty of estimators.

Lukaku is one of our only internationally known players. The brand would certainly take a bit of a hit as well.

I’m not saying it’s the wrong decision, but I like many do not trust Suning at all in this moment. They completely desolved Jiangsu after winning their first title because it wasn’t good for business. What makes anyone think they won’t cut their losses by liquidating their investments in inter and move on?

If there’s anyone out there I trust to reinvest the money it’s Marotta, but I’m not sure if he can work under these conditions. I wouldn’t even be surprised to see him step away if they don’t let him work with a budget.

The fans have to be present in these moments and I’m sure they will be. We can’t stop it but we can call it out.

90% of our attack was predicated on Lukaku and Hakimi. I wouldn’t sell Lukaku for 150 million. Reason being we’re certainly going to buy a dogshit replacement and probably fall out of top 4. And good luck attracting players next summer then. Although who am I kidding, “financial difficulties” will certainly be a reason we cheap out again regardless of if Lukaku is sold or not.

The guy who limited us to that is gone.

He limited us right into a very secure scutteto with that tactic.

He limited us to 4th CL spot and a Real Madrid home loss for the first time ever as well.

Just give the Covid shitfest the credit it deserves for our last 1.5 years under Conte and we can move on.

If Conte thought he had a chance this year, he'd not jump ship.

Dont directly replace his role and set up in the team with zapata or at least don’t restrict it to that. If zapata than someone else as well.

He was asked to take a pay cut and manage a mangled team (as we're seeing now, possibly even without Lukaku). I'd argue he didn't jump ship and was instead pushed out.

Sorry to talk about Conte in this thread. BUT. If my boss comes to me and tell me he wants me to take a pay cut AND have less resources to work with, I will be out of there before he finishes the sentence.

Conte talk to the Conte thread please (and yes, he definitely jumped the ship hahaha).

Corriere della Sera reports we would use 70-80m€ to buy Zapata and Raspadori. I can't fathom how one could use that much money on those two players. Zapata is 30 years old, he's not getting better anymore, he's an okay scorer but nothing special. And great risk is there Gasperini system benefits him and his stats too. Can't be a cent over 40m€ and that already includes Atalanta being tight against rival trying to buy their player. Raspadori isn't some 30m€ valued striker in my books.

Matt Law: Inter Milan want around £100million for Chelsea target Romelu Lukaku and may be forced to cash in on him before the end of the window. It is believed he would listen to any proposal from Chelsea but won't force a move.

Atalanta signing Vlahovic with 'Zapata to us money' and we'd be looking like absolute clowns this late summer.
