Bayern beat Dortmund 3-1 at Westfalen and won Supercup. Dortmund have a huge issue with rb. This is also a lesson to those who believe replacing Hakimi is easy.
Hakimi was as a bad if not worse RB than Passlack or Meurnier to be fair. Even as a wingback he was suspect in defence. Left back is also an issue with Schulz smh terrible player. Can't say I'm overly convinced by the new high profile signings, Kobel and Malen. Dahoud and Bellignham were fantastic in midfield, Bellingham in particular has made improved immensely since his debut. Hope everyone caught Reus' stunner.

Freiburg beat Dortmund at home yet again.
Still early in the season but....

new season, more of the same. These are games Dortmund needs to win if they want to contest for the league.

A lot's not working out, the new signings, the formation, the squad, not sure why but Zorc/Kehl haven't invested in the squad properly. Hakimi wasn't adequately replaced now Sancho smh

Will Choupo Moting get 10 goals this season?

I don't really much care who wins it as long as Bayern doesn't. I thought Leipzig might have a go at it but so far they have been subpar. Same for Dortmund. Plenty of games left obviously but when it comes to trying to take the throne from Bayern if you will cannot lose points, especially against teams really should be beating.

Just Bayern taking their rivals best players and ruining the league. Nothing new.

Thing is, they've been doing that forever (since the 80s when they emerged as the top force in Germany*). But now money dictates the sport like never before and there's no way anyone can stop them. If they don't win the league at any moment, it's due to some glitch and they'll rebound immediately. They always produced top German talent, they still do. Now they're buying everything that breathes in Germany if it doesn't emigrate. In the past players could reject them, now it's naive to do so.

Similar case applies with PSG, who were perfectly timed with the new era we're living in.

We cannot expect sovereign funds or multibillionaires throwing money at football clubs just to have someone else win something.

Unless UEFA and all federations limits what money is allowed to buy in football, this will be the case in these countries. For the time being, money dictates the sport. League winners at all leagues around Europe and Champions League last 16 & quarter finalists show this. Just compare them to the 2000s or even worse, the late 90s [where CL had a similar format at least] and you'll see that this kind of domination existed was mostly due to domestic corruption more often than due to sporting superiority. Now, they're all thrown into the mix, making the whole scene look corrupt even if it's not. And makes corruption appears less effective than it actually is.

* Interesting examples: Lothar Matthaus (Gladbach), Stefan Effenberg (Gladbach), Mehmet Scholl (Karlsruhe), Oliver Kahn (Karlsruhe), Mario Basler (Werder), Jens Jeremies (1860 Munchen), Hasan Salihamidzic (HSV), Ze Roberto (Leverkusen), Michael Ballack (Leverkusen), Lucio (Leverkusen), Miroslav Klose (Werder), Manuel Neuer (Schalke), Robert Lewandowski (Dortmund), Mats Hummels (Dortmund)

All big clubs are doing this, it just happens Bayern doesn't have a competitor in the league that can do the same on the same level.

I know most fans would love to see their own club do the same. But it's not just that they do that, they are also the most shrewd club with their money. Least bought players, least sold players of all the big 20 clubs and still being so strong in CL every season.

If it was Inter in their position, they wouldn't do as good.

Obviously, but that's because most fans are either settled with the current sad state of football or have not seen anything else [and interest is dwindling from older generations, I'd say perhaps faster than ever].

All it points out is that football needs to pull the hand break if it wants to survive as a sport, otherwise it dies completely. And Bayern is part of the organizations that put nails on the coffin.

In a sense, you are absolutely correct. This is the way of the money/capitalism. Also, wages and transfers keep getting higher are a problem as well.

And the covid crisis showed only a few clubs have money, everybody else is... fucked

Bayern took last seasons runners ups coach, captain and best CB in one transfer window

But odd thing, German footy fans would rather Bayern poaching and essentially killing the competition than the alternative i.e. getting rid of the 50+1 rule. You can see it in the disdain they have for RB Liepzig and Hertha

Entertaining match with 7 goals in Leverkusen between the local Bayer against Dortmund. Dortmund won but they aren't going anywhere with this defence. Almost every Leverkusen counter-attack was a dangerous situation.
