Hahaha I was joking lol Vecino is the master
We don't need a 6th midfielder. We need to push a 4th midfielder to 6th, and dump the 6th. That's how to improve and move forward.I wouldn't oppose renewing with Vecino if he indeed remains the 6th option. Vidal and hopefully Sensi leaves next summer so there is two new midfielders we need to add anyway. Midfielders who should go above Vecino in the pecking order. Another thing is will Vecino want to renew if he knows he's going to be a pure bench option.
The fact is he brings certain things to our midfield we don't otherwise have. Vidal is a bit of the same but he feels so much slower these days and Vecino is just so straightforward with his style. With our ball cycling and passing game, Vecino is not good at all though. Straightforwardness is his thing and he is good at that.
The reality is, we can't sell Sensi. No one wants to buy a broken vase. So it doesn't matter if you want him or not, he must stay, and he should be our 5th-6th midfielder. Same for Eriksen. So you want us to buy THREE new midfielders? If you cared to read what I wrote, you'd figure out we need to replace Sensi and Vidal. Sensi for him being too injury-prone so he should be sold. And Vidal for his contract ending. Massive contract so he surely won't stay (we won't activate the option). That's our 4th and 5th midfielders. So you want to buy 2 new ones to replace these guys and then one to be the 6th in place of Vecino?
I wouldn't want that much changes in our midfield. Change is good, but too much changes is always risky business.
And, I tell you, he is free. IF Vecino accepts same salary and accepts pure bench role, I have no problems renewing him and having him as 6th option. Use the limited resources on those 4-5th options to the midfield we need to acquire.
We know that, but for instance Barella has that style creating spaces etc.. but ALSO has a good touch etc.. to play in a big club you need everything.Lol its funny how this vecino debate continues year after year.
Guys just accept it that managers who play him are not retards .
Vecino has a quality which is running off ball , creating spaces for the others with his movement and also filling spaces in the box.
This is a great quality to have because it does require intelligence and stamina.
On the other hand he gives 0 when it comes to our expectation of a midfielder which is playing the ball , giving through balls to the attackers or even tackling for that matter.
On a solid team which has at least 4 quality midfielders , vecino can be a good 5th/6th option because it offers smth the others dont. Unlike Galgia who offers nothing.
Would i renew his contract though ? For sure no , but the guy deserves a salary in a good team
What's the point of loaning Sensi out though? Not like he is a youngster needing game time to develop. If he is injury-prone, he is still so when he returns, nothing changes. Just to save part of the salary?Getting Hakan had more to do with the urgent need of replacing Eriksen than improving the squad as a whole. There were no rumours about Hakan prior to Eriksen situation.
Regarding Sensi and Eriksen, they are two different cases. Sensi needs to go even if it's a free loan. If he stays, he can't be anything more than 6-7th option. We can't even count on him to be fit for half of our games. It's a bit similar when we had Recoba on the squad. If he manages to stay fit, it's great but we need to plan as if the guy isn't at Inter.
As for Eriksen, i believe we're going to have a much clearer picture about him come June (perhaps even earlier). Either he will be allowed to remove defibrillator and he can start trainings with Inter or defibrillator needs to stay, his career in Italy is over and his contract will be terminated by mutual conscent.
Point is to not having to depend on him. Il Drago's point was Sensi probably cannot be sold so loan is the only option. He takes a roster spot too and if we can't depend on him (we certainly seem not to) he should leave, one way or another. What's the point of loaning Sensi out though? Basically we are paying him to contribute for e.g. Cagliari. Makes no sense. I'd rather pay for his (few) minutes for us. For a 6th midfielder you don't need half the games.
There is always the option of keeping him. That's a shitty option but still, less bad than being the charity funding for some clubs (Cagliari and such).Point is to not having to depend on him.
