We just had two games where we should have had 6 points.

Hopefully the team can rally.

The ref seen it and waved play on. Var is for clear and obvious errors or if the ref doesn't see it. They had to watch it 5 times in slow motion to decide if it was a penalty. Does that sound clear and obvious to you?
That's why they introduced VAR ffs, it is there to prevent wrong decisions, to see what the refs on the field aren't able to notice. It was a foul, on the line, so a penalty. Just look at the rules, you can't whine about every decision. It was our fault we didn't close the game earlier. Especially Inzaghi's fault. Defending 45 Minutes at home? Against the opposition that was already on knees... Man, I can't even understand some of our fans. Constant complaining about everything and everyone. It's so cliché.

The contact was minimal. Ref didn't initially call a foul on that. How the fuck can he overturn that it's a foul suddenly? That fucking Guida who was at VAR really ruined that whole thing but Mariani should have just stick to his original decision because the contact was minimal. You COULD technically give a foul for that contact but it's not a clear foul thus you shouldn't be able to overturn it with VAR.

We are having the same problem that Conte had for probably 3/4 of his period in Inter - gifting too many goals. We did not concede only on one occasion in Serie A - first game against Genoa. Our team is still good to win the Scudetto, just fix that please.

Inter had the best defence in the league for each of the 2 seasons Conte was our manager, so your statement is a bit off. In each season, we conceded less than 1 goal per game on an average, whereas so far this season we have conceded 1.33 goals per game. Its a big difference.

Conte had problems with the defence for a few months at the beginning of last season where he tried to implement an attacking system, but then he corrected that and moved back to his usual defensive counter attacking system and our defence was exemplary. So at best you could say we are having the same problems in defence that we had in the beginning of last season, but perhaps the difference is that Inzaghi is already playing to his usual style, whereas that was an exception to Conte's usual.

Is your post meant to make us feel better?

Truth be told, I do not think there is anything worse in football than having your most bitter and hated rival on the ropes and not finishing the job. The only thing worse is the refereeing team making calls so Juventus can get something from the game and ensure they remain relevant and in the race for the Championship.

For me, that kind of result and lost opportunity is what epitomizes Inter.

Just as a side note, I was at the Italian Film Festival on Friday night. I was watching a movie in huge cinema where I was maybe one of ten people in attendance. The movie was about a guy with a blood disease, his navigating the disease and his interactions with family.

He needed chemo and when he was being shown around the hospital, the male nurse from Bari said that the room had 24hr surveillance in case he fell out of bed. The patient said "A bit like VAR!" To which the nurse responded "Goal Juve!"

I am guessing that no one else in the cinema understood that but it absolutely fucked me off and I stifled a boo that was rising in my throat. It made me so angry and now here we are and VAR very much denied us the three points.
No it’s meant to give perspective. People are acting like Juve were in bad form and there for the taking. Like pushing forward to score a second goal would have been the smart thing to do when we’ve all seen how we risk being countered. We played it the right way yesterday, we just got fucked by a shit decision.

Yeah. We were leading, we didn't have to push forward risking counters.

One can always say it leaves you exposed to random setpieces goals/ref decisions and it's true and it happened now, but you gotta take calculated risks. With our attacking prowess, I'd say it's the correct call to concentrate on defending and try to score with fewer players when you are leading.

Yesterday it didn't pay off but that's life.

This was exactly my point. Clear and Obvious error.. which it was not.

This is exactly 100% accurate as well.

We can argue we should have pushed on and went for a 2nd and 3rd but without the penalty we would have comfortably won 1-0.

We have had 2 bad games in a row now result wise, a few good results in Serie A starting with Empoli and Udinese (6 points) will get us back on track. 3 points v Sheriff and then The Derby della Madonnina which no doubt will cheer us all up :) Forza Inter!!!

This is the first of the two games which will give us an idea whether this Inter can win the Scudetto. My main concern about this Inter from the beginning is whether we can beat top sides. Next 8 days will be very telling, even if we ignore the midweek CL game. This is how I would interpret the results from these 2 games vs Lazio and Juve. If we get:

4 to 6 points: My concerns are allayed, we are on the right track and can win the title
2 to 3 points: Inconclusive, but at least there is a chance
0 to 1 point: This is what I am really worried about. Forget the title, top 4 will be a struggle.

I wrote this before the Lazio game. I guess the results are in. We got 1 point. This is what I was really worried about - this Inter is just not good enough against big teams. Against Real, Atalanta, Lazio and Juve, so far we are winless. Unless something changes drastically, forget the title, even top 4 will be a struggle this season.

People keep bringing up "clear and obvious errors"... Its kinda the duty of VAR? How can people think that a ref waving on a play means there is no error?

So if a ref waves on a blatant foul, VAR cant intervene? lol.

Blatant would be clear and obvious. This foul was not blatant or clear/obvious.

ANYWAY, I've found this whole thing to be stressful and affecting my life. If you're in the same boat as myself, I recommend stepping away for a bit! Indulge in whatever you indulge in and let it melt away.

He had to watch it in slow motion like 5 times. Is that clear and obvious for you??
Also, your first paragraph is the same excuse we got last season when calverese did not review the penalty cuadrado stole with var. So you know, again, one rule for us, another for juve

Yeah, the foul was definitely not a clear one. Thus the decision not to call a foul was not "clear and obvious error" by the ref, thus it shouldn't have been overturned. Someone in Twitter brought up a similar case from two years ago when we played Parma at home (2-2). We suffered such a foul, it wasn't called and VAR wasn't used.

But of course now when it's against us and it's Juventus, the ref overturns it, against the VAR rules.

NEW CO-ORDINATOR TO EXPLAIN REFEREEING DECISIONS TO CLUBS

Giannoccaro-Gravina.jpg

A new role has been created for former referee Danilo Giannoccaro, acting as co-ordinator of relations between the officials and Serie A and B clubs. :yao:

The appointment was announced after a series of protests from sides, coaches and players about recent decisions during matches, even with the use of VAR.
They called repeatedly for clarification and some explanation as to why some decisions were made.

The position of co-ordinator of relations between the CAN (Referees’ Commission) and Serie A and B clubs was held last season by another former referee Gianluca Rocchi, although the role seems to be expanded under this new tenure.

FIGC President Gabriele Gravina explained the aim of the position will be to ‘inform and form the rules and the VAR protocol, as we all as acting as a conduit between referees and clubs.”

Giannoccaro was a referee who had 101 Serie A games under his belt before retirement, then was also a designator at various levels.

“My objective is to pass on to clubs the information on the rulebook and its application, as well as sharing and explaining the refereeing decisions on a weekly basis.”
The FIGC confirmed that they feel it is necessary to “intensify the dialogue” between clubs and refereeing authorities.

Fuck FIGC and the corruption in Italian Football.

This could have been an email type of thing

If the rules are not clear no amount of explaining will make it so.
