He has become our Cambiasso in all but name. Cuchu is more intelligent and has better timing on his forward runs. On the other hand, Brozo is a different kind of player in a different era. But both are indispensable to our midfield. Most likely we'll still see him involved in Coppa Italia matches somewhat.

6 seasons with us. We used to know him by his brain farts and now a totally different player. We've seen how Perisic and Rano have matured after 5+ years with the team. How I wish it'd be the same for Gags...

Great game today. I’ve always said we need to have a true DM in our starting line up and my opinion hasn’t necessarily changed but I’m enjoying him more recently. He’s been playing much more simple and staying in position a lot better the last 4-5 matches (since we started working on preventative marking). I also think having someone like Vidal in the midfield makes him shine more because there is another ball winner.

If we can get a younger Vidal type of player (maybe that’s Nandez?) then I think we can expect a more consistent Brozo.

Very classy today, excellent job, MOTM really.
He did indeed excell against poorer opposition. Let`s see him against bigger teams.

The victory means Inter leapfrog Sheriff into second place in the Champions League group on seven points, with Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid leading on nine. They also have a superior head-to-head record with Sheriff, who have six points.

“Now we control our own destiny. The only thing that mattered today was winning, we played really well, attacked and did not allow any counter-attacks,” Brozovic told Sky Sport Italia.

It was still goalless at the break, despite numerous chances and Lautaro Martinez rattling the woodwork.
“The coach said a few things, we needed to move the ball quicker and then we’d 100 per cent score a goal.”

Brozovic was named UEFA Man of the Match after his first ever Champions League goal at the 27th appearance.

Inter now prepare for Sunday’s Serie A clash with rivals Milan in the Derby della Madonnina.
“The only thing that matters is winning. We want to all give 100 per cent for the victory.”

I have a weird feeling that he won’t renew. I hope I’m wrong but it doesn’t seem like it’s going in that direction. I hope we offer him a fair contract for the years he’s put in here. If the offer is fair and he decides to leave, we can’t really blame him— he’s put in years of service here and deserves the chance to have new experiences.

Wrote in mercato thread this too, I've started to thing if it's just Brozo wanting to change the scenery.

If that's the case, can't really blame him, he's been at Inter for over 6 years, he's been here since 2015.

Yeah. Correct me if i am wrong but i never remember him expressing the desire to stay at Inter. Whenever he's asked about it he always responds "we'll see". Of course it could simply be a matter of money or perhaps he wants a change of scenery. Time will tell. In any case, losing Brozovic on a free would be the first big failure of Marotta.

Not necessary a failure.

If Brozovic has decided to leave and he won't renew and it's the summer of 2021. What should Marotta do? Try to sell him and desperately trying to buy a replacement midfielder while he had lost Conte, Lukaku and Hakimi already. IMO that would risk the top4 qualification, really.

If they took the chance the extension or no extension, Brozo plays this one season for Inter and guarantees the top4 spot, CL knockouts etc. Then walks away for free. That might have been a decision and I can't really blame making such decision. Top4 is more important than the sale money from Brozo which would have gone to the replacement (at least most) which wouldn't have been as good as him, at least not out of the gate. We needed some stability as the summer was quite crazy and keeping Brozo was the correct thing to do here in my books.

If it's only about the money, I think we just need to pay. But I just can't believe it would be only about the money.

He won the scudetto after 5 years. He is aware that that is very likely his upper limit for success in Italy. He was vocal about CL in recent media statements, saying how he is very confident about getting into knockouts. But he is also aware that we likely won't go far past that. This club needs a few additional years of (uninterrupted) growth before we can get serious about CL. Ironically, I feel like the scudetto makes it easier for him to walk away.

He is arguably in his prime and while he can run for days, I don't think he will be able to maintain that for too long in his 30s. There is also his BFF and compatriot Perisic who actually won the CL while loaned away from Inter. Brozo is likely very tempted to get out while the getting is good. England or Spain can easily double his salary and give him a real shot at CL.

The more I think about it, the more I'm certain this is not at all about a simple dick measuring contest that is matching salary with Hakan and the others. Perhaps Brozo is waiting for an outrageous sum, a deal that you can't refuse kind of thing that would make it worthwhile to ignore all of the above.

The problem is we left the extension for the last possible moment. In part due to our financial situation but also due to Conte having doubts about him. Till last summer we didn't even know if we wanted to extend his contract. This should have been resolved last summer even before selling Hakimi. Either you sign an extension or you're put on the market. Instead we did nothing hoping Brozovic will sign an extension. This thing can't be repeated in the future. We can't afford losing our best players on a free ala Milan.

An unlimited amount of frozen pizza should do the trick.

Give him what he wants.....he deserves it.

I just dont see how we replace him adequatly while spending less then what we would spend by giving him 6mio per year. Gonna be hard and would be a huge gambe.

The good thing here is i dont see any bigger club than us showing real interest in him, like i dont see a current CL contender going for him. And imho he d not be better of from a sporting perspective being at the spurs...

We're probably gonna end up with one of Paredes, Castrovilli or Zakaria. If he leaves.
