I feel like he wants a new challenge. And obviously he’ll get one big final payday out of it. Which he deserves. PSG or Spurs seem the most likely destinations if he doesn’t renew with us. Both clubs can offer him a massive salary and he can reunite with Conte in London.

Brozovic is 29 next week and we are struggling financially. Giving him huge 4 years contract is a big risk for the company and I don't see it happening. I think the only possibility for us is to offer him 3 years contract with 5 mln net salary but I guess Brozo could get bigger money somewhere else easily.

Going to PSG is a challenge. Going to Chelsea, City or Liverpool is a challenge. Going to Bayern is a challenge. Going to Real, Barca or Atletico is a challenge. Going to Spurs isn't a challenge. It's a massive downgrade. He would only leave Inter for Spurs for money.

If we extend Vecino (even if it's for pennies) and not give Brozovic what he wants, i will riot.

If we can afford to extend Lautaro and Barella, we must be able to afford to renew with Broz.

Unless he's demanding something really really unreasonable, or Broz just wants to leave.

Personally, I think he's holding out to see if PSG or Juve come knocking, but will renew with us in the end. Spurs aren't a problem, they're not paying anyone 7m a year, not Kane, not Son, not... Ndombele.

Completely agree. And of all the clubs you mentioned he will start in every midfield. IF he will leave I will be very disappointed but if this is the case I would love him in Atletico or Liverpool.

They earn a lot more than 7m a year, and in pounds, not euros.

Don’t let him go. This guy came in as an afterthought signing behind kovacic and blossomed into one of the most important players of the last decade. He made himself here and stuck with us from the banter era til now. Brozo-barella is a top class midfield pairing, don’t split them up now.
Stuck with us? Deserves? However highly FIF rates Brozo it's not like other top teams were queuing up for him. If he's tired of playing for trophies or wants to go sit on the bench at Liverpool...

I'm tired of bending over for these guys, 7.5M Net is beyond ridiculous.

Outside of PSG and Jube Brozo not a starting mid for any top 10 side

So having a 33 years old midfielder with his build and quality is a huge risk? :yao: What are you talking about maaaaaan? You know we are starting Vidal who is 34 and a half years old, right?

Bro never gets injured, very rare on red card, runs more kilometers than any other football player in this planet, jaggernaut lungs, defending like a horse yet controlling the game like a maestro, among the top registas right now, knows Inter so well (gone through our bad and good), reliable, dangerous corner kick, good shots, very mature vision on the game, and best team mate for others.

Like many already wrote here, Bro is essential for our team. He knows the system, the drills and has chemistry with Barella and others. Having to replace him might set us back for years and damage our potential of winning again.

Big mistake if we let him go, he is in his prime now. Epicness all around.
+1

I hope Marotta can extend him for 6m + bonuses and everyone`s happy.

The issue isn't if Brozovic is irreplaceable or he deserves the money he's asking. I actually think anything over 5.5-6m for Brozovic is plain ridiculous. The issue is if he can be properly replaced and i have serious doubts aboout it in our current financial situation. It's not like we will lose Brozovic and we're going to sign Jorginho, Casemiro, Fabinho, Kante, Kimmich, Bruno Guimaraes, the kid from Monaco with the long name or any other top DM/prospect we may think. If we lose Brozovic the best we could get is someone like Zakaria, Kamara or Paredes. And that's why we can't afford losing him.

Bra you need to get out of the house. I agree Brozo is essential for us and his durability is laudable, but he is replaceable. In fact I'd very much like to have a DMF in that position over a DLP.

I can live with 6M + bonuses as you posited, it's very fair. But to me he should be benched for even asking for 7.5M, he needs to help us win 3/4 trophies first to justify that.

If we lose Brozovic the best we could get is someone like Zakaria, Kamara or Paredes. And that's why we can't afford losing him.
I can live with that personally. Freuler or Weigl or Roca on a loan deal. Or better yet stick Barella in the role. We just need to get creative. That and our scouts need to get off their asses.

Brozo is my dawg but fuck his demands

yep and 34 years Vidal cannot play in every match because he is tired and he gets injured often. Few years ago extending contract with Perisić was also essential and he was irreplaceable and then we couldn't sell him because of his high salary.
Most of the top clubs extend their 30+ players by one year contracts.

Show me a replacement that would cost us less than 12 mio/season and would not be a huge downgrade in quality and i ll gladly let him go.

Also we cannot find a dzeko for every position and even if we could for how long is it gonna work out to just sign old almost free players and hope they still perform for a season or two?

Imho giving him 6mio per season is not that much out of this world especially considering that it s gonna be his last big contract. Yes he probably would not fetch that much if he was not a free agent this summer, but he is and there s gonna be teams that will offer him that, probably slightly lesser teams than inter but still.

One other aspect is that him and barella are seemingly getting along great on and off the pitch why break that up to save 1-2 mios.

Last but not least for Cash flow purposes keeping him rather than buying someone new is probably also gonna be the better solution.

Exactly. It`s all poker and Bro knows it, hence his raise in the pot.

If we were talking other players maybe, but since you`ve mentioned party animal Vidal - I`m sure Vidal can play IF he puts his mind into it. The same with Brozo, he can perform if he really wants to. Problem with him was consistency, which seems to be figured out by now entering his prime and mature years. Heck, Modrić is 36 and still delivering on top level. As long as he has other diet than frozen pizza, Epic Brozo should be fine. Plus, athlethes` career has been extended nowadays, especially of those that have a balanced life outside the pitch.

Management should suck it up and learn the lesson: never leave essential extensions to the last minute.

Marotta KNOWS the importance of a player being Serie A schooled, this is why I believe he will extend Brozovic.

While I agree we should extend Brozovic, just to be precise he is asking for 8m net per year; 6m is what we offer. That's insane.
Is that the highest salary for a midfielder in the league?

I understand why Marotta is hesitating. If Brozo is earning 8m net Barella has all the rights to ask for 9m-10m in a year (not saying that he will). Because he is the captain and more important. And the death cycle will continue...since we fucked up and signed a Vecino-level midfielder for 5-6m net.
