I can certainly understand the rule. Not that I wouldn’t kill to see Eriksen play for us again but could you imagine if whatever that was happened again. The sheer negligence would leave a nasty mark.

I'm tired of this shit, these people who don't let him play should give Inter the 25m we paid for him

Tbh its on us to have insurance to cover this sort of stuff. I hope we did. I assume we would but nothing seems to have confirmed so far.

Those rules have been there before Eriksen got his injury. There's been heart related issues in Italian football, they just want to play it on the safe side.

We and Eriksen just got incredibly unlucky. It's just the way it is and we gotta live with that.

Unlucky, I'm still amazed how Conte made a 100m euro player turn into a 20m euro player in 1.5 years.

Dont think he was ever 100m tbh even at his peak? Maybe like 60 or 70?

He was, but Levy keeping him at Spurs unmotivated tanked his value.

I never understood the thought process behind saying "Eriksen isn't allowed to play because of the cardiac arrest only in Italy, but he can go elsewhere and continue his career". Wut? The risk of suffering another attack is the same wherever you go. These restrictions aren't there for fun, they are safety precautions.

It's like the same people who drive without a seatbelt but put it on as soon as they see a cop nearby - thinking they outsmarted the system :palm:

No medical expert here but one would assume that eriksen would be under close observation by a cardiologist if he were to return to play.
Plus daley Blind is playing with the same condition as eriksen has and i think the same operation. Plus as far as i understand the Implanted ICD should prevent that he just drops on the field like what happened in the EC.
So it s not totally out of this world for him to be playing again.

Note i m not saying he should play, but there is precedent of players with the same condition playing without problems, so I really think this should be up to the player, if the doctors do their job give him the green light but also explain the risk to him why should any league take the decision for him?

No, as inunderstand it itd a blankets rule in Italy. Blind can play in netherlands because they allow people with the implant.

I think the fear is taking a collision in a contact sport and damaging the device for example.

Exactly, it's a law/rule/whatever in Italy. No one in Italy can do sports if using such device. Italians want to be on the safe side so they've simply banned it completely.

People acting as if it's some useless regulations standing between Eriksen and his chances to play again

And it's not the doctors, the coaches, his family and literally everyone around him who are advising against it. Stop deluding yourself, nobody is willing to take the risks. I'm not even sure if we would allow him to play with our pub team. He can be perfectly healthy and what happened was nothing more than an unfortunate one off event, but his career is finished.

Show me one professional athlete who has come back from this (not Daley Blind, please) and I will take back everything I've said.

Why does blind not count?
ALso not a list of athletes but a study from 2019 says it really depends on what the underlying issue is: https://www.scielo.br/j/ijcs/a/yPvBbYqD5qfyD7Sdzfnvmdv/?lang=en
They also staet that the consensus has been slowly changing in the last couple of years.

And it kind of is a useless regulation standing between him and him playing. Yes it s to keep players safe but it s not like he could not move to the dutch league and play on there if he wanted to. So that regulation does not really stop him from playing competitive football it only stops him in certain leagues.

And of course it s down to him his family and his doctors to decide wether he can and wants to play again.
My point simply is if he wants to play and doctors give the green lights i dont see why we should keep him from playing. Also as far as i understand or at least this was in the media he would be allowed to play again if he had another surgery where they took out the ICD. Now as far as i understand that would not reduce the risk of him having an episode quite the opposite yet serie A would be okay with him playing like that? How is that putting the players safety first? Again this might be wrong and just some BS the italian media wrote...
Also we re discussing this when we dont even know what he wants.....Fact is if he wants to play again he ll play again and i dont see how he s much better of playing in the netherlands rather than Italy.

Edit: I know you said no blind but how is blind allowed to play CL which he is? It would be fine for him to come play in San siro as long as he wears the ajax shirt? How the fuck is that logical?

Because there is a huge difference between having a heart condition and having the heart condition developed itself into a deadly heart attack.

Eriksen is not being allowed to play (assuming he's fit) because he had a heart attack, not because he has an implanted ICD.

Can't you see the difference?

Many of use transfermarkt here, like valuating our team. I should've mentioned that I used transfermarkt. Its really hard otherwise valuating a player.

When was Eriksen ever valued at 100M? Even on a free we were pretty much the only ones in the market for him.
Sorry, forgot to mention that I use transfermarkt as a source.

Yeah, I agree with you. I also only remember us wanting him and still we paid over 20m when he had only 6months left for a player with 0 motivation in his current club. It all felt really strange

Does anyone know if Christian Eriksen was vaccinated?

One of the possible but rare side effects following a Pfizer vaccine myocarditis (heart inflammation) and pericarditis (inflammation of the lining of the heart) following vaccination.

I was thinking about how a player with no previous heart issues suffers a heart attack.

Is there any chance that his heart attack was vaccine related (presuming that he had a shot)?

No he wasn't vaccinated. Marotta shot this down about a day after the incident because people were conspiring
