There were some people favouring him because he's italian and an inter fan, which isnt a bad reason, but hes not the most obvious leader on our team, and I think someone who demands captaincy is the last person I would ever give it to.
I don't recall anything about Barella "demanding" the armband. I've only read the opposite, that the club wants to appoint him next captain and has included the armband as part of contract negotiations to make their offer more appealing (considering they're broke as fuck and can't offer him real money).

Anyway, I can forgive this clownchild if he just learned to fucking finish with a shred of composure the fucking animal. Everytime he finds himself in a shooting position, he just loses his shit and lashes at the ball with zero consideration for placement or accuracy. It's only by the grace of being a talented player that the ball sometimes goes in.

Look at his "finish" against Milan - He could have calmly side-footed it into the right hand side of the net which was completely empty. Instead, he got a rush a blood to the head and completely scuffed his shot. He ended up rolling a weak ball towards the center of goal where it was easily cleared, and falling onto his ass like a fucking toddler in the process because he didn't balance himself. All this despite being unmarked and having all the time in the world.

He's just as bad as Lautardo - but don't get me started on him.

thats not gonna happen, though. I'll be utterly shocked if we spend 40-60mil on a new midfielder in Jan. All that will happen is that Gags/Sensi/Vidal will play.
A loan + option is also possible. A swap also, if Napoli are still keen on Vecino.

Yep. I struggle to see the management going and buying a barella worthy replacement just for 2 games.
It's not for 2 games though. We need signings to see us through to the end of the season to secure a trophy or two.

Think of the Eriksen deal: instead of waiting to sign a midfielder on a free in the summer, we make a move now. Tolisso and Zakaria for example. Those are not signings for 2 games. Want-aways like Ndombele and Ceballos should be available on loan + option. The aforementioned are not my personal preference but these are options we can consider instead of conceding to G5 and Vecino for the rest of the season.

But we'd need to sell gags and Vecino or Sensi in January to be able to get another midfielder of good calibre in and I just can't see us doing that. I'd love another really good option on the bench ofcourse. If the tragedy didn't happen eriksen and we signed hakan anyway, we'd be set.

I think Cafe also did a post - we literally cant add someone to the squad without offloading someone atm either.

I don't think we would need to sell anyone to bring Rafinha or Ndombele on a 6 month loan + option.

In any case Eriksen is not a Barella replacement in the slightest, not dynamic enough

Why does he need to apologize to the ref? Players only. Ref can eat a....

Is this a wage issue? would a 6 month loan really impact that?

All in all, it depends on managements objectives for the season. Is it R16 + top 4 finish = mission accomplished or do we want close season with a trophy? The clearer the objectives the easier it becomes to reach our targets.

Man, you fucking guys

Yeah Barella was an idiot and fell on Militaos provocation. And yeah he is very poor in the past month or so. And yeah I do agree he shouldn't be a captain.

But don't forget that he is exhausted, both mentally and physically. Last year he has played 46 games for Inter alone, most of them full 90 minutes. He was one of Italys sure starters at the Euro, and previously in the nations league and WC qualifications as well. He is not a robot, he played like 60+ games in one season, this was bound to happen. He needs a rest, hopefully sooner rather than later, as we will need him.

Luka Modric is 36 and played in just as many games and has just as many minutes played as Barella if not even more. He also played for Croatia in every single competition, even useless friendlies...so yea, i give no fucks if Barella is tired. Theres a lot of players that are tired and play most games. I do give a fuck when he cant control himself and acts like a baby. So no, he doest need rest, he needs a psychologist. Hes 25, get your shit together already.

I think Barella spend a lot more energy per game than Modric, so fatigue might be an issue

Their play styles are different, Barella is like a rabid dog chasing squirrels in the park. I've said before, he doesn't need to run headlong into every challenge for every ball. That RM game, Kroos and Modric let Brozo and Barella have the ball and do all that running around, meanwhile they were just biding their time, waiting for an opening, and once it came they struck. That's what it means to be experienced and play and at a high, world-class level.

It was an instruction from Ancelotti according to Modric.

Their styles are different. Totally uncomparable. Barella chases the ball, tackles, runs, while Modric never does that. He is world class and knows hot to preserve his stamina. Barella doesnt.

I mean its two different tactics? Barella is supposed to do those runs to put pressure 247.
