Guys, we are INTER. None of this defeatist attitude. Football is played on the pitch not on paper. We will attack fearlessly and take it. Mark my words!
FORZA INTER

LMAO great user name, you've already won 99% of the internet arguments even before they begin with this user name .

Our winter mercato will show whether we want to win against Liverpool or not.
Apparently, we are not having a winter mercato. Suning will not be bringing in reinforcements.

It is most likely that our broke cunt Chinese owners are of the view that we are top of the table in Serie A. Accordingly, there is no need to reinforce the squad.

To be fair not lmuch can be done in Winter mercato anyway. The opportunities rarely present themselves. It`s not like infusing 80m and buying SMS will guarantee that team will knock out Liverpool. Aside from the financial aspect, you also have to consider the team harmony.

RANIERI EXPLAINS HOW INTER CAN BEAT LIVERPOOL AND FACE THE ANFIELD CROWD

Claudio-Ranieri.jpg

Watford coach Claudio Ranieri praises Jurgen Klopp, but insists Inter can beat Liverpool in the Champions League Round of 16.
The Nerazzurri were paired with the Reds in yesterday’s controversial Champions League Round of 16 redraw.
Inter had got Ajax in the first draw, but were way more unlucky in the second one.
“It will be a nice game and the result is not obvious,” Ranieri told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Liverpool are really strong, but you can see Inzaghi’s hands at Inter. He has inherited a winning team from [Antonio] Conte and it was legitimate to have some doubts after Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi’s sales, but Inter go really fast now.”
So, what do they need to beat the Reds?
“Liverpool and Manchester City are the best teams in England even if Chelsea are on the same level,” said Ranieri.
“First of all, they must face both games with determination and without inferiority complex. Never take anything for granted in football.
“Second, they must limit errors. Mistakes can be crucial in Champions League, especially against big clubs. There are moments on the pitch when you have positive or negative feelings, so you have to listen to them and act accordingly.

“There is a perfect chemistry between Klopp and the City of Liverpool. He is a good, smart man, a very nice person. Jurgen is the ideal coach for a top club with a great fanbase.
“However, if you let the Anfield atmosphere get to you, you won’t go far,” said Ranieri.
“It’s important for Liverpool, the support from their fans is incredible.”
Liverpool have just returned from Milan where they beat Milan 2-1, eliminating the Rossoneri despite rotating their squad massively.
“I was not surprised,” the Italian coach added. “Liverpool can rely on two teams, that’s one reason why Premier League clubs are superior, they can field two competitive teams each.”
Inter and Liverpool will meet at San Siro for the first leg on February 16. The return leg is at Anfield Road on March 8.
Inter are the Serie A table leaders with 40 points in 17 matches. They have the best attacking record in Serie A 43 goals scored so far this season.

For me it`s all about the #wINTER is coming!

If Inzaghi manages to get over January well (injuries, form, results), we have almost everythnig (Barella?) needed to create the surprise.

I haven`t seen Inter playing this well since 2011 so I`ll allow myself to be confident when facing Liverpool (fabulous team and my pick of top manager in Klopp).

January just became even more packed, as we will face Empoli in Coppa mid to late January.

I am usually one to back the team no matter what, an obviously as FC Internazionale Milano we should be fearing nobody, yet we need to be realistic here... we have seen countless times over these past years that our Inter simply can't compete against the top teams in Europe, so there is always hope, but I wouldn't raise my expectations too high.
Also if we face Liverpool with the same attitude and style of play we faced Real with we will get pumped off the park, Catenaccio and contropiede Conte style if we want to have a chance of going through.

Are you a member of the crowd in laverys Belfast?? Lol I only found out about that group during covid. I've since moved home so never got to go down for a game unfortunately.
No bud I'm not, stay away from Belfast as best I can haha. I've actually not heard of them myself.

I can see this thread is going to be hard for me to read/follow...

You are going nowhere in Europe with Conte style.

If you are progressive you can achieve something in Europe.

Maybe we will not be better than Liverpool this season but give me one more year of Inzaghi style and we will feast eventually.

Yeah, I read this morning that the budget will be something around 10-15 millions which nowadays is nothing. Maybe Marotta will try the usual "loan + option/obligation to buy", we will see.

Ranieri talk was the meme of Nicolas Cage 'You Dont' Say'

My prediction: First game: Liverpool start scoring 3-0. Then we score 2 lucky goals at the very end.
Second game: 0-0 this is Anfield, but 0-0. Minute 92, Brozo throws a corner and GOAL BY VECINO, beautiful header by the Charrua.
We go to penaltis. And we lose.

I think this thread was started way too early. It kind of feels like we are taking our eyes off the race for Lo Scudetto in anticipating of the hiding we are going to receive at the hands of Liverpool.

You'd think we were a struggling mid table club reading this thread.

In the context of the elite European teams, we're worse than that. We're a recently promoted team who used to win European trophies.
Being in the last 16 of the Champions League makes us "elite" in my eyes.
