Great info. Everything seems to be in our favor this season.Hakan's unexpected performance, Dzeko's and Correa's surprising goals, Dumfries' rising form , the transforms of Perishit as turning into Perisic again ,Inzaghi's positive football etc
On the other hand ,we have the least injury problems among our competitors.

Once again, we witness how realistic Beppe's idea of ''Italian Inter'' is (or we can call it European Inter ) Long-term continental championships have always been a pain in the ass for major European clubs. The less players we send to these championships, the less damage we take.

I do not want to be misunderstood. I disagree with Klopp. I love and respect continental championships, but our topic here is Inter. So as an Inter fan, I only care about Inter's interests.

Speaking of the tournament, I think Algeria and Egypt are the favourites. Morocco can also make a surprise. I do not believe that any team can become a champion among Sub-Saharan countries.

The players need to stop disrespecting Africa themselves. And I don't mean the ones participating, but the ones "switching" allegiance to a big European country just because it's "better" or has more chances to play in the World Cup.

Haller shouldn't pretend he wasn't like this, playing for France until the U21 and then switching once he was snubbed from the first team. We need more Ziyechs and Hallers after the case, but Africa (and the Caribbean countries) lost too many players due to their early stage mentality.

Why? He's playing in a European league so of course the EC will take place outside the European competitions? I'm getting a bit tired that everything has to be about racism or inequality? Because that's what Haller assumptions are. Because we are Africa we are treated not the same way and that some narrative I don't want to take part in.

Did they even had some meeting with UEFA about delaying the European competitions? I can't remember reading something about it. Just curious to know if the UEFA didn't want to work together with the CAF to come to an agreement?

Problem is the weather.

Unless they play in South Africa, anything else is borderline boiling hot in the summer. I think they tried to make it so, but it was just unbearable.

Nothing UEFA can coordinate here. The main issue is that they have this tournament every two years instead of every four.

CAF actually has changed the competition schedule to be played june/July from 2019 where possible to try and accommodate the eu clubs...

Can't be done for this edition in Cameroon due to rain patterns.

2019 in Egypt was played in june/July.

It's been every 2 years from inception. It's not something new. Why should a 50 year old comp change its frequency?

It should not. I'm just saying that it has become an issue for UEFA teams (since the 90s when African players started to participate in UEFA regulated competitions) as it occurs every two years, so it's harder for teams to seek African talents. It's also a deterrent for African players as well, as they prefer to play for France, Belgium, the Netherlands, England etc instead, even if their chances are lower. It makes them miss out on a competition that takes place during the season, so they don't lose value in hopes for a better contract/team.

Initially, lots of African players would prefer to play in Germany over other countries since they had a proper, long winter break. Now that passports are handed like candies they don't care as much, since they can just renounce Africa altogether and only switch if they're desperate for international football action. And it also allows them to freely choose any EU nation to play in. Fucking Bosman rule killed both international and club football but anyway.

The issue has hurt African football more than it hurts the few complaining European sides, who typically reap the benefits here.
