yeah, well, thats something we cant really afford. What we can afford is like, 11-13 really good players, a bunch of not bad players, and then a bunch of guys who are emergency backups.

Can we afford a guy who has earned 4.5m net in two years and his only contribution is on the dressing room? Kolarov isn't a part of the management in order to be judged only on matters outside the field. He doesn't even have Berni level of wages in order to be happy with his contribution. He earns a salary of a decent squad player and these should be the demands from Kolarov.

His wages last year were that of an expected first team squad player. with the cut he's been given now, its more in line with emergency backup.

I'm still in favour of him being released at the end of the season, but in terms of wasted spend on the first team squad, *if* he's doing the things we are assuming he's doing, it could be quite important in our run in for the scudetto.

What does it matter what he has earned before? AFAIK he earns 1.5m€ at the moment. If the management considers his contribution off-the-pitch important enough to pay such salary, who are we to complain about that? We can't see what happens in the locker room, on the training pitch and training center and in every day life of the team.

That's the point of a forum. We are here to discuss management's decision is wrong or not. Ofc Inter people always know better than any of us, we are only allowed to praise everything every time?

yet again, its not about his performance now, its about his understanding of the game. he can probably explain to Bastoni how to create attacking opportunities, how to balance it with defense as well, kolarov also has a wicked left foot like Bastoni does...
then he should be a coach

This is a footballing forum. We praise when we see something we like and we criticise when we see something we don't. Kolarov is no exception. Else, we should only praise everyone and there's no purpose for this forum.

It has been pretty clear for some time, since last season already Kolarov's value is somewhere else than just his on-the-pitch presence.

So you are basically criticizing the management for having this guy being part of the team because he hasn't been playing much since there's nothing to be criticized on his performances on the pitch. :D

That's still more justified than believing in a fiction that he's such a great leader in the locker room ergo they pay him millions as a player without actually playing. I'm not sure a mere motivator earn as much as this guy.

Check the last time he played more than 15’. He fucked up immediately with a gift for Bologna, by wandering next to Handanovic

Yeah your cheerleader did fuck up so much on the pitch that no one dare using him too long again. Just that you missed those events.

But again, if he's being called out for his contribution in the dressing room, then thats fine

dont get me wrong, i wasnt mad keen when we extended him, but we're in a critical phase right now and having someone who can help the players mentally will be useful. In our squad right now, Kolarov Vidal and Dzeko (I guess) are our most decorated players?

Exactly.

All things I see in this thread is however people complaining about Kolarov's on the pitch performance. If players tell they felt Kolarov was important last season and management signs him for another season, that's enough for me.

I don't give a fuck about some goal conceded against Bologna year ago, what the fuck?

Wow. So much love and support for Kolarov....you're even OK with keeping the guy who doesn't even play. Dressing room? They can hire Flavor Flav for that money At the same time same people (you and .h. ) criticise Brozovic and wanted him gone for every year he was a constant performer...

I think this argument has been rehashed enough in the last few pages, but key points:

* I wouldnt extend Kolarov
* 2m a season net was ridiculous for his contributions, and his sporting contribution last season was woeful
* Given where we are now, if the choice is to release him now to save 1m (gross), but the comments in the media are true about how popular he is in the dressing room and how he provides mentorship and guidance to the younger players, then that seems awfully short-sighed
* Brozovic asking for a £225k/week contract was quite a ridiculous sum of money. I think we've been generous if we settle at 6m net + bonuses.

You would make a great sporting director for cheerleader squad
