I'm not gonna go over this again, it has been proven time and time again that 1st year of PS5 was a lot better than PS4 1year. And being backwards compatible is another plus, that you seem to ignore every time.

I didn't buy PS4 or PS4PRO, because it cost too much. PS5 digital for 400EUR was a great deal don't be mad because PS4 didn't have a PS+ collection. Sure, I missed games like Uncharted 4 and Bloodborne when they first came out, but it's not like they aren't great games anymore.

I love my PS5 and I'm glad I skipped on PS4. It's like having two consoles in one

Nobody compared first year of PS5 with first year of PS4. And atleast first year of PS4 had games for PS4.

Imagine selling a console without games for it. Playstation is on a different level compared to its competitor when it comes to marketing.

The same arguments after one month lol.

Rift Apart? Returnal? Demon's Souls remake? Astro's Playroom? All great games.

Seeing how people are having issues getting the PS5, most won't get to play these games until they get it.

Compared to the new Xbox series, the only really great exclusives are Halo Infinite (multiplayer yes, singleplayer not that great) and Forza Horizon (that is also on PC, so it even an exclusive?)

Why aren't there many Xbox/PS5 exclusives right now?
1. Lack of money, so they need to make titles that are also on last gen consoles
2. Time is needed to develop a truly next gen experience.

Why would studios bank on games solely for PS5 if only a fraction of gamers will buy the game? We're gonna see a lot of titles like that in the next 3-4 years, Horizon 2 and God of War:Ragnarok for sure.

The same shit everytime, just that this time at least Sony delievered and two of the PS5 are certified top5 of the year, mentioned everywhere. Now add Resident Evil Village, Deathloop, It Takes Two, Spiderman: Miles Morales and you had a great fucking year on PS5.

I really don't see the fascination for exclusives, give it time, rather have great games with graphical upgrades on PS5 than shitty exclusives that didn't get the time for development. And even that isn't problem because there are legit great exclusives.

But I guess people don't care for great games, they only care for franchises

You realise you are just adding more points to my argument about PS5 with no games?

Come back after you make the research how a new cycle of consoles usually looks. PS5 cycle started strong enough to be a positive. Also every year the development cycle becomes longer, even for indie games like Hades, we waited a long time for 1.0 and official release. This IS IMPORTANT to understand, we can't demand next gen exclusives in a world where games cost more than most movies. That's not how the gaming industry works. Gow:ragnarok will also be on PS4 because they know it will sell loads, even tho the best version will be on PS5...

I'm gonna go replay MGSV on PS5 and I'm also playing Hollow Knight, while Psychonauts 2 and Returnal are being played by my girl. Gamers game, not complain. I fail to see what 2020 had that is better than Returnal and It Takes Two. Or what first year of PS4 had that is better than that. No problem, I can wait for you to realize there was nothing as good.

Dying Light 2, Elden Ring and Horizon: Forbidden West all coming in the next two months, and after that Gow:ragnarok... But yeah, PS5 has no games

There aren't many PS5 even out there, so how will studios make money if many people don't have a PS5 yet? Only Rockstar, Valve and Blizzard can fuck around for years and be self-sustainable. All the games that are solely for PS5 have Sony backing because they are there to showcase the console - Demon's Souls graphics, Returnal 3D sound, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart SSD disk and Astrobot all of the above.

And those are great games too. And why would somebody begrudge the fact that you can play PS4 games on it or games that released also on PS4 or Xbox or PC? Usually with better Frames Per Second and better loading times than on PS4?

Let's check what PS2 had in the 1999-2000 era.
They had nothing worth playing at launch, while their best two exclusives were a snowboarding game SSX and Armored Core 2, all of the other games weren't exclusives.

Even with that legendary console you had to wait for more than a year and a half to get to such gems as GTAIII, THPS3, Metal Gear Solid 2 and Devil May Cry.

So if you don't count exclusives for PS5, the list of Hitman 3, Deathloop, Tale of Arise, Resident Evil Village, Psychonauts 2, Kena: Bridge of Spirit, THPS 1+2, It Takes Two, Guilty Gear Strive, F.I.S.T., Dirt 5 (coming to ps+ tomorrow), Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, Wreckfest, Hot Wheels Unleashed and upgraded PS5 versions of Devil May Cry 5, Spiderman Miles Morales, Ghost of Tsushima, Final Fantasy 7 remake Intergrade, Disco Elysium, Death Stranding, Diablo 2,.. all games that came out recently

I didn't even count games like COD, NBA2k, FIFA, Immortals Fenyx Rising,..

All in all, people haven't played Returnal or Psychonauts 2 or Hitman 3 or It Takes Two and saying there was nothing great to play...while I'm happy there isn't a GTA6 out there so other great studios can get their shine. 2021 was amazing for gaming and whoever gets the chance to sell a PS4 and buy a PS5, do it. Everybody that tried Astrobot can attest to how big of a leap they made with the new controller and new hardware. Coming from work and waiting 2 second for God of War to load into game is heavensent.

It's called Activision Blizzard and they are amassing so much money that it's incredible how the last great game they did was in 2010 - Starcraft 2. Evil fucking company.

Most people don’t skip console generations…. Then are super happy to play 6-7 year old games even if they are free

But then again Nintendo selling everyone Nintendo wii games without any graphic enhancements or any other enhancements for $60 and video game critics cheer that stuff……

No system seller has come out on ps5…. And slightly upgraded ps4 games with better frame rates don’t count

People love that they don't have to sell their PS4 games, only the console (if they want). Tell me what was the console seller on PS2 in the first year that was an exclusive? And the same for PS3 and PS4?

This is the best of both worlds - great games of the past and a pretty great list of new games as well. I named all the games that came out since PS5 is out. Those aren't 6-7 year old games. Those are at most 2 year old games that I listed.

Again, until you try out Returnal or It Takes Two, don't speak to me about console sellers. Haven't had this much fun playing games since 2004-2005, when we had Burnout 3, Half Life 2, Doom 3 and Shadow of the Colossus.

This is the best start to a Playstation cycle ever. And year 2 will blow everybody away.

Maybe the difference between us is that I play many games online (FIFA, Rocket League,...) and I like to try new things.

Has anybody tried Hell Let Loose? That also came on PS5 this year, so there's a new flux of players playing this second world war simulation

Honestly even if you dont like any of the new PS5 games the console is easily worth the money. For me just the fact that loading and instalation times have almost been completely eliminated makes it worth it. Even old ps4 games are more enjoyable.....
I did have a first gen Ps4 though so if you got the pro yours might already have been faster.

FInally let me leave it with this my Flatemate just moved out and he owns a PS4 and he used to play on my PS5 when we still lived together. At first he was like no need to buy a PS5 1 week after he moved out he s searching for one just because all the games are so much smoother even if they are not exclusives.

At this point we are just repeating ourself. They basically bought themself a PS4 with HDD and different controller.

I played returnal because I'd seen Wera mention it a few times.

It's fucking amazing and the effects out of the controller are brilliant with it. It's so smooth, looks fantastic and is really fun.

I'm currently playing far cry 6. Man I'm sick of massive open worlds. Not every game needs to have them.

Next few months will be brilliant. Elden ring, horizon zero dawn, dying light.

We should also get the witcher this year which I will play for the third time but now on ps5.

Really looking forward to the hogwarts game but it's due out this year and we still haven't seen any gameplay? Can't see it happening. Honestly I hope it doesn't unless the game is perfect. Please learn from battlefield, cyberpunk etc

Have been playing gta 5, and will do witcher 3 and red dead redemption after.

I have 10 years worth of games to catch up

I just got the ps5 ff7 remake upgrade and not sure if I’m blind…. But I don’t see a difference between the two versions
