Barca fans were sure that he was meant to come back, since MATS doesn't look like he gives a fuck

Hes cleared to play for 2 months now. He only played a cup game vs some low tier team and an unimportant game in CL vs Besiktas.
Perhaps the team is just angry that he's leaving. Idk, we will see in top 16 of CL. Id expect him to start.
Pasveer doing okay and Onana is leaving the club for free after they did everything to support him during his absence. I think it's justified he doesn't play. He treated Ajax like shit and that's why a lot of fans want him out. Not because he is a bad keeper but because he is a bad person.

Hey you guys! I'm following this forum for quite a while now and thought it was time for my first post!

Really thrilled of the Onana signing. As a Dutch resident (supporting Feyenoord though) i've watched a lot of his games. On his day an absolute beast. Yes he's really and i mean really good with his feet, so that would fit in nicely in our gameplan. But besides that the guy has great reflexes and positionering. He was easily a top 3 gk in the world in the 18/19 season. And he was doin' great until his absence too.

The only concern about Onana is that he hasn't played a full season in like 2 years when he's joining us. Also with Ajax he had a slow start with quite a few errors, and he's a bit wild from time to time. But if we give him time to grow, regain his form, i'm absolutely sure we have a beast of a gk for the next decade!

passing compilation. I really like how Handa is playing under pressure and he is crucial for our build-up play from the back, but Onana is another level. Milan improved a lot after getting Maingan thanks to his long accurate passes, so I expect something similar here.

Great deal. His suspension was fucked up but i believe he will come back as strong as he was before that. Forza Onana!

For next season i would like one of the keepers to do CL / Coppa and the other league games. Then starting 2023 if Onana has done good he can get the starting spot.

When Mohammed Kallon failed a drug test whilst playing for Inter, Moratti cooled on him pretty quickly and he ended up leaving. Perhaps that is down to the players that were ahead of him in the pecking order. I’m not 100% sure but what I do remember is that Moratti thought that Kallon’s positive drug test did not reflect well on the club.

What I don’t understand is why Inter would want to be associated with a player that was caught doping. I guess the other thought I have is whether his beast mode performances were down to doping or was he playing without drugs at the time of those performances?

The more I think about Onana at Inter, the more concerned I get and the only conclusion I can come to is that Inter conveniently ignored the above considerations for the sole reason that the player would arrive on a free transfer.

And that is without considering the fact that he has not played in two years. How does a player recover from not having played a competitive game in two years and at the same time adjust to a stronger league?

Hopefully, Handanovic will still be around next season to keep Onana in his back pocket.

Not comparable. Kallon never had his sentence reduced, onana did. The courts found his version trustworthy. It was proven in court that it was accidental.

Read the guardian story and it is very believable.

Great transfer all around. Even if this Onana guy fails to deliver, he would still teach our boys how to pop some good pills

I think Handanovic would definitely get Coppa at the least if he’s here. Similar to the way Juve used Buffon in recent years.

I'm quite excited to see Onana in action. He's literally built different. Most, if not all, top keepers have a slender build while Onana is quite bulky. And just look at the highlight, you can clearly see the youthful energy in him. His reaction time, reflex, agility are just so fast he saves many powerful shots with like 0.5 second to spare. You simply don't find these saves from Handanovic anymore. Athleticism alone doesn't make good shot stopping but he's got great tools. He's also great with his feet if the internet is to be believed.

What you describe is reminds me Mexico goalie, Guilermo Ochoa.

Yes, Onana is different than other top GK.

You've just described why Onana may have an earlier expiry date than most goalkeepers.

He is more than solid with the ball at his feet, but that can be transformed into a negative. He LOVES to play with the ball, far more than he should be allowed to. And he'll travel along the pitch to get to the ball if needed. It's valuable, but it can become a kryptonite if there's lack of communication or irresponsible behavior from his part, some things that he's rather notorious for.
