I'm really hard time to believe Toronto will pay 11m€ NET. Any confirmations it is really net?
I dont know if it's net but it's believable. The company that owns TFC also owns the Toronto Raptors as well as the Maple Leafs. They're loaded.

Yeah realized this and actually I believe it even less it's net. No way they'd be paying more to an Italian football player than like for example Auston Matthews.

11.5m€ is definitely a gross number. Romano simply got it fucking WRONG.

Yea, I find it hard to believe as well; also giovinco did an interview saying that he was surprised that he had to pay a lot of taxes lol

However, I don't think Insigne would move to fucking Toronto for a mere 5.5m net

I'm a bit puzzled by some of your reactions regarding Insigne's move to Toronto. He's going to secure wealth for future generations of his family in just a few years playing for TFC. On top of that he's going to be treated even better than Giovinco was, where as if he stayed at Napoli the fans would eventually turn on him for declining (which he already is).
I'm a bit puzzled as to why you didn't think he wasn't able to secure wealth for future generations already? As pro athletes we as fans judge them based on their ability but also their competitiveness and willingness to be the best and play at the top level. He's doing none of those by leaving. It's insulting to fans and the game.

Hes 31 years old what do you expect? He's basically won everything he can with Napoli and Italy and he's not moving to a bigger club any time soon. He's already played at the top level at his absolute best for 10 years now.

As far as securing wealth goes you clearly don't understand just how much he's going to get paid in Toronto. Theres a problem in sports with how athletes spend their lives post-retirement financially speaking and Insigne would not have to worry about anything - nor will his grandchildren. On top of that he gets to spend the next few years enjoying himself rather than being booed by Napoli ultras for not playing like his 25 year old-self when he's 35.

Maybe he just don't want to play for any other Serie A club after being Napoli supporter from the beginning. This in combination with money and opportunity to live few years in city like Toronto seems like pretty good reason to me to accept that offer. After he returns in Italy he will be remembered as a guy who spent his whole career in Italy in his town and club.Completely understandable move and I wish him good luck.

So you agree with me then. He shouldn't have left until he was 35.

How is it insulting to the fans and game? I would think Napoli fans would prefer this move than any other team in Italy due to the fact that ADL is fucking cheap and wants him to take a paycut.

I will never understand when fans don't understand that these days football is business first, he will be fine listening to all the haters while sitting on his 11.5m salary.

Where did I say that football isn't business first?

Don't have to, it's clear you think he should think about pleasing the fan and respecting the game instead of securing his generational wealth.
