We should go after either of Depay or Braithwaite.

I would definitely test the waters over a loan move for Thuram. He's totally unmotivated at Gladbach and he's mostly a sub these days.
His contract is running out in 2023. So the loan would be connected with an obligation to buy because Gladbach sadly aren't retarded 🤣

As I have written before apparently he could be available for 10-15 millions which is a very reasonable price. That is not like Correa's case where - at least right now it seems - we have flushed down 30 million down the toilet and moreover, Thuram is three years younger than Correa is...

I really think we should offer Borussia Mönchengladbach like 15 million for Ginter and Thuram right now - maybe with the payment starting in the summer. Imho there is a very good chance that they would accept that. With that Ginter can get used to the league and learn Italian whereas Thuram can show if he is someone for the striker position or maybe the replacement for Perisic on the left side.

this is madness if we don't search for a decent correa replacement or just replace him with eddy salcedo (like tuttoshit paper said today). They said were gonna get a player if we qualify for the next CL round, wich means we have money now. 3 striker are not enough now, Dzeko and Sanchez can't play always 90 minutes. With the game calendar we have it will get a big problem.

Of course we can't go for someone like Scammacca or Raspadori, it's not what i expect. But at least someone decent like Destro or Caputo (Samp can have Sensi on loan as exchange :yao:)

It's madness if we don't sign a forward. There's a big problem there. As things stand we have:

- Lautaro who occasionally scores a goal but also misses a lot of chances

- 36-year old Dzeko who hasn't scored in ages

- 33-year old Sanchez who is great as an impact sub but he can't start week in week out and he's also injury prone

- Correa who is very inconsistent, has missed even more matches than Sensi due to injuries this season and he could be out for a while

Playing Sensi as an SS can only be a last resort when there's no one else available. We have to sign a forward.

Bring back fkn Livaja from Hajduk, he is now first choice striker for Croatian NT. Best player of league. He is 5m worth maybe less.

I wouldn't count Sanchez appearance yesterday as a "sub" tbh and lest we forget the string of games he started and how well he played in all of those games.

1 poor game v Atalanta yea, but he is still 3 goals 6 games 1 assist + some Key Chances thrown in.

We for sure need a striker however I'd really like to see Toro and Sanchez, with Dzeko sub + 1. Minor loan, nothing to mad on the financial scale.

He's also a bit of a cunt so he'll be annoying center backs :D
At least he'll be club trained.

He's not a player for Inter though, only as a 4th/5th choice.

Marotta: “When top players like Paulo Dybala are out of contract in six months it’s normal to make attempts - it’s part of the market.”
I noticed he’s repeated this a few times, that “attempts need to be made,” even if we don’t end up signing the player.

Personally, I interpret that as Marotta saying, “we need to play the game even if we’re not trying to win”.

And by that I mean engaging in these mercato games, or auction tactics, for ulterior motives beyond signing a player - like putting indirect pressure on a rival and trying to get in their heads a little bit.

I recall juve masterfully playing Roma some years ago for Iturbe. They engaged them in a bidding war and eventually Roma wasted a ton of money overpaying for a complete bum of a player.

Obviously juve are not going to panic and offer Dybala an ill-advised 7 year extension at 15m per season. But considering how much they try to interfere with our transfers I welcome any small amount of us returning the favor.

Either we spend big to get a CF for the future like Scamacca, or we get an ageing superstar on a loan as a stop gap. Please lets not even consider bench fillers like Salcedo, Livaja, Pinamonti, etc.

The problem with replacing injured Correa is that we can’t afford to use another striker slot to be filled by an useless player, just as we did with Correa when we desperately needed one after Lukaku left.

Judging Correa’s recent performances and injury problems, it seems we are stuck with a player that is/will come hard to get rid of. For that reason a possible second missbuy to replace him is simply not what we can afford, especially as we need that top finisher striker in the summer.

That’s why I’d go for shortterm stopgap option, Mulattieri/Esposito loan recall to replace Correa for the time he’s out.

But as for the reasons Drago mentioned, a striker is a must now or we simply risk too much until the end of the season.

Fabio Abiuso could be called up from Primavera as well, he's not a bad talent. People complaining we never have any on the bench don't develop our players etc, so no one would complain at that. Right? Possibly?... here?

To be completely fair to management, the striker is only imperative for a CL progression. We've already met our target so I don't think they'll haste.

The only way we go for a striker now is to secure a player we really want, like Scamacca, but Sassuolo ain't selling.

We could go for a loan deal if we need cover and we will probably will. Imagine Sanchez returning injured from South America and Correa still not being fit, Lautaro could be jet lagged. That leaves us with Dzeko and a non-fit Lautaro for the derby and then we just have to wait for the returns. Back to Spallo days with Ranocchia as box striker?

We do not need someone who will displace Dzeko at the moment, but we need someone for cover. I mean someone like Pavoletti, Petagna, Caicedo etc, a cheap deal that provides backup, will feature in like 10 games at best, mostly as a sub and would only be used in an emergency. Getting an alternate to Scamacca now means that we miss out in the summer mercato. And this would also be a panic buy. Imagine if the alternative to Scamacca is someone that never played in Italy, doesn't speak the language etc. He won't even be helpful for the next few months and will probably get 'burned' by the time the next season begins. There's no need for this kind of deal at the moment.

But we definitely want something better, but we don't really need that to meet our current ambitions. Scudetto and Coppa. That's it. We don't have expectations in the Champions League, just enjoying the ride. But I expect that next year we'll have a target to reach quarters and the market needs to reflect that.

We have a lot of extra players at the moment, some of which earn a lot. We cannot do much in the winter mercato unfortunately.

But what Sensi got anything to do with this conversation?
Think about it Isaac.

You were talking about time that Dybala has been injured from season to season: 2-5 games.

Next to Sensi, who has spent the good part of two and half years on the sidelines, Dybala’s injury record reads quite we.

Calciomercato reporting that we could bring Caicedo or Salcedo, who Motta does not like, if Correa's injury is serious.

Get Scamacca if possible. He reminds me of Vieri, he's a pure striker.
