I think there's a good chance he will be the starter for half of next season but the rest is on Onana

Yeah definitely. Looking how Handanovic has been doing for several weeks now, Onana is definitely going to have to fight hard to get a starting role.

Toldo situation was different, he had issues with both Zaccheroni and Mancini iirc. And maybe some fitness issues as well. But he wanted to stay even as a backup.

Handanovic is still one of the best GKs in the world, Toldo was still good but very inconsistent, either because of him or because he was benched for various reasons.

There's not 20 top teams out there. Be realistic. Lets compare GK with teams from La Liga, PL, Bundes and Serie A, that finished top 3 last season.

What does that have to do with anything?

Compare all you want.

Chelsea would have loved to have Handanovic, Liverpool and City are good.
Bundesliga? Really? Apart from Neuer, who else is better than Handa there?
Serie A, Musso and Donnarumma were the only ones around this level.
I'll give you La Liga's case, but that still doesn't mean that Handanovic is inferior to Courtois.

The interest is slim on Handa because he's old and it's unknown if he will be at this level for 1 or 2 or 5 seasons. It's also a concern for us. Truth is that a few Serie A teams and others inquired about him but I think he's leaning to stay on, despite the salary reduction.

Saying he's not one of the top goalkeepers is straight saying shit that's invalid...

If you someone says "he is one of the best GKs in the world" for me it does mean its top 5, we can stretch it to top 10. And he just is not anymore.

Why would Chelsea want Handanovic? They have Mendy who is better. Courtois, Oblak, Ter Stegen all are better than Handanovic.

Im not ungrateful, but its time to move on like all things in the world.

Well, he is top 10... At worse he'll be top 15 by next season. Onana who's coming over isn't any better.

Was top 5 until a couple of seasons ago and was usually in the mix for top 3 during his prime, just without CL exposure.
