If not anything else, i can wholeheartedly recommend Yakuza 0. Not the same type of game because you fight in real time, but the combat apparently peaked in this game in the series, so that's good. For 20 euros full price, this is a 60+ hour game easily.

I'll go play Yakuza Kiwami next, the remake of the first one and I'll report more.

Yeah, I read that the fighting system was new, turn-based. I'm not a big RPG guy and this might be the 1st turn-based game I've played in ages and it felt like a nice change as opposed to what I'm used to, using fast reflexes and sweating my ass off. Here I can fight a tough boss while chilling.

Would love to get more into the series and maybe even play it from the beginning but the amount of parts is a bit overwhelming plus they could be too old by now? Are there any remasters starting from the 1st game? And are they available on Xbox? I doubt it. Because if I want to play it with the old story I want to be in it from the start, seems like it's very much worth it based on what they did with Like a Dragon with all the twists and good storytelling and excellent gameplay. Plus I'm very curious to try the old fighting system which could even be better like you mentioned!

On another note, I'm really looking forward to playing Elden Ring, just not sure when as I don't want to play it now because it would distract me from work and I'm already fuckin about a bit as is. (speaking of work, how's your new gig @Sawyer).

Cheers bro, proper sound of you to ask.

Its 100% the best job I've ever had, I am absolutely loving my life from a work perspective and I am already being scouted for a double promotion after a week and a half, made a great report with the CEO, so all in I am just on cloud nine when it comes to work.

Thank you so much for asking, that's really nice my man.

As far as I've seen, Yakuza Kiwami 1 and 2 are remakes made in Yakuza 0 engine (game is from 2015). That's why I got all 3 since the price was too good to not buy it.

Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 are remastered and apparently they aren't as good, but I'll just have to see for myself. Yakuza 6 ends the Kiryu saga and is apparently a great game. And after that there is also Judgement, Lost Judgement and Like A Dragon  so many games

Yakuza 0 is on Xbox, so give it a chance. It might not be a next gen title, kinda janky even for 2015 standards, but the level of detail, fighting, storytelling and overall feel is pretty great.

Is it worth getting GT7 for PS4?

Don't see me getting PS5 in the foreseeable future. It's been unavailable for a very long timr and I don't see a way their production line increases anytime soon.

The big difference with PS4 and PS5 versions are the loading times. I've seen a video where PS4 version loads a race in 40 seconds and PS5 in 2 seconds.

Brehme, can't you write/call different outlets and get in line? That's how most people I know (including me) got it. Sure, you have to wait months for it, but at least you'll be in line. I got my PS5 in June or July 2021. It's worth a try at least.

Yeah seen those, too and initially I thought it was no big deal but then I got skeptical

Because buying GT7 for PS4 means I'm not going to consider buying a PS5 at all. And I'm not sure where I stand on that. I don't need it, I barely play PS4, but I have this force driving me to crave buying it whenever it returns to shops.

I’m in the same boat, but ps4s aren’t so cheap either. I can’t bare the thought of buying a used ps4 for slightly less than the significantly upgraded ps5 if I just hold out…

I registered on PlayStation direct website for a chance to buy one, hopefully the wait isn’t too long because GT7 looks incredible 😁

Holy fuck, just finished Yakuza 0. Played yesterday for the whole day and from morning until now, so the playing time is just beneath 80 hours. Well, is the game a bit janky and has certain shortcuts compared to AAA production? Sure. Most of japanese games do. But I'd also say the shortcuts are made at the right moments and the game constantly keeps surprising you, even had a Virtua Cop style shootout on a highway.

I'm not gonna give it full marks overall, but the characters, the dialogue, the story and the atmosphere deserve full marks. The story makes you want to grind a bit to upgrade your character and try all the funny mini games and side quests. Drinking hard liquor and going to play darts was my fav. thing to do  both of the characters you get to play are awesome.

The music is great, the fighting system is a bit PS3 era type, but it's fun. Graphics are good enough, Metal Gear Solid 5 and Witcher 3 from the same year blow this game out of the water. Some dialogues or cutscenes are way too long, but it's what japanese developers do. At least the payoff is great and I'm surprised they even had 6 more stories to tell with the same characters. Some of the characters that were awesome also died mid story, which is crazy to think since this is the prequel to 6 more games.

A solid 4/5 and a must play if you like long narrative games in a crime setting.

have you guys checked ebay? Friend of mine got a PS5 from there and paid 100$ more than what it retails for....
I know kind of a big markup but if the alternative is getting a ps4 it might be worth checking it out.

I don't wanna pay and empower people that bought PS5s and are overselling them. It's scummy behaviour. There is always a way to get it, you just need to put yourself in the line.

I own the PS4 but barely use it. Buying PS5 makes little sense to me but also buying a full price PS4 game makes even less. So I won't be buying Gran Turismo for PS4, as I doubt its price will drop to acceptable levels before the PS5 becomes available again.

It hurts the consumer in the long run. If Sony and Microsoft and Nintendo see that people would buy a console for 1k dollars when there is shortage, what would stop them from doing that for all upcoming consoles? Also Sony and Microsoft actually get the best profits from services like Ps Plus and Gamepass, so if the consoles are sitting somewhere in warehouses waiting to be bought, they lose out on the money from satisfied customers that use those services.

It's all fun and games until everybody get fucked in the ass. Don't let me say I told you so in 5 years when shit goes overboard.

Yah all issues happen but companies can sell directly to consumers or limit units to 1 per person or something but the average price has centered between 300-600$ range so companies kinda have to price it there and as u said companies profit from digital games passes etc.

Also the shortage happened because of the chip issues worldwide and its on companies to better satisfy their demand. Dont knock the person who is profiting of flipping consoles, blame the billion dollar companies, either way gaming is not really worth blame. U can get an xbox one S, some people import consoles buy them used etc.

@wera have you start playing elden ring yet?
Nope, my friends are playing it but I'm investing all my money into different things right now, so even $60 is too much for me atm.

My backlog looks like this right now
Yakuza Kiwami 1-> Yakuza Kiwami 2-> the Borderlands 2 spinoff game from Ps Plus-> Psychonauts 2->Ghostrunner

So I probably got time until the summer before I start Elden Ring. Great game tho. Love have everybody is having different experiences when travelling the world. And how the fuck is the underworld map half the size of the actual map, how long were they actually making this game?
