It is a fucking CL knockout game. Play the best possible line-up and try to actually overturn the result from the first leg. Then if it would not work around 70th min then start to rest the core players as Il Drago said.

General question, I saw this being debated on the Sempre Inter podcast this week.

Would you play the b-team for this match? Basically start Rano, Vecino, Gags, etc. and just rest our best 11 for Torino? Or would you go with the best line up and try and get a result here, even if that result is just a draw or something.

I personally think we have to play our best team. I think this team has shown their mentality is too fragile. Any loss and especially a shut out can start another slump. However if we got to Anfield and score then we are going to take a lot of confidence from that as long as we don’t get pummeled. Which to be fair can happen even if we play our best players, so I do see the other side of the coin.

Let me know your thoughts.

Play the best team. Otherwise we would not only get demolished in CL, but our "A team" would fail to do anything anyway here. That's how these calculated approaches always turn out. We've seen crazier results in recent CL years than what we are hoping for here. Red Star managed to beat Liverpool 2:0, Roma managed to make a comeback against Barca.

Our opinions are irrelevant, Inzaghi is too stubborn not to throw everything he's got against Liverpool anyway.

Do you remember the one of the sweetest come backs which was done by Deportivo La Coruna against BBilan? :D

I would definitely play the best team. It's a CL KO game. You never know what can happen. An early Inter goal could change everything. But if around 60th minute score is still 0-0, or even worse, we're losing then we should start resting players.
Manchester United won their most epic title in history by scoring two goals in the injury time. Liverpool made one of their most epic comebacks in history by scoring 3 goals in 6 minutes, but we have to rest our players with 30 minutes to play?!

Would be cool if away goals still counted for anything. We don’t have the legs for 120’
At least we can put up a fight and push them till penalties. You can't be a Seri A champions and then be kicked out in UCL like you're nothing.

Still 10 Seri A games left, so there is no reason to give up and play the B team here. "This is the real test" kind of a game, so if we want this team to be mentality strong then this is the time to show up. We can win 10 Scudetto in a row, but its still feels shit if we're nothing in Europe.

I don't wanna be optimistic, but I don't wanna be too pessimistic either, football is strange and sometimes even big teams loses badly when all seems too easy.
Luck will be a factor, a goal or two in the first half is still possible and nobody knows how Liverpool will react when pressure is on.
Don't forget that they lose games too, it's impossible to know what is going to happen if we finally start scoring instead of missing our chances, would be an interesting match to watch and I hope just we are going to play as we know.
We overturned Bayern in 2011 after a loss in Milan when every statistics told us that nobody ever done such result in CL history before.
We are Inter.

wasting-energy match. imo we should play primavera players for this one. our primavera players need this game rather than our regular starting XI.

the champions league campaign isnt suitable for a team using eleven (11) 33+ years old players included list.

Can't play our B team. We're not Liverpool - take one or two of our key players and we look like headless chickens.

Agree, we need to try to get a decent result here to boost the morale of the team, or atleast not ruin it further.

We might still get destroyed, but we got to try atleast. Making it this far (For us atleast) just to get the white flag out would be embrassing.

Our chances to qualify are slime to none, but in one game even the impossible can be possible, i hope the players still believe they can do something..

Did you get any tickets mate?
Of course mate, I can't wait I'm absolutely buzzing! Going to sing my heart out, I'm in the away stand, it's near the corner flag. Literally so damn hyped for this game and I'm gonna be singing, chanting and giving it my all. Watching the boys live overcome a 2-0 v Liverpool is going to be magic.

Or course, I'm going with the wife so she'll be told what to take whilst I fully enjoy the game ha. I'll get her to record free kicks at our end etc hopefully we'll manage to get a video off one of our 3 goals we'll score.

Liverpool are the only team in top 4 leagues without a home loss. I can't be optimistic about this. I'll take a draw and move on.

Expecting another loss without us scoring a goal. One win over the worst team in history does not mean we are out of crisis.

Regardless, we absolutely do not rotate. As others have mentioned, for the morale more than anything, we need to put in a "respectable" performance here.
