That's only half-truth. Our schedule in Feb-March killed us tbh. Mentally tired with those CL matches midweeks + Supercoppas and every fucking thing. If we won one match, like Genoa, we would be in a a different position (we also lost to Sassuolo at home, drew with Fiorentina at home to mention the obvious ones).

Everything is intertwined. From all those games cluttered together, to the horrible transfers of the past still biting us in the ass. Sending Sensi away without bringing somebody instead of him.. and also buying Correa, just another thing that still doesn't make sense to me.

We really shot ourselves in the foot and it's obvious that if your squad isn't good enough, you can't compete on three fronts. I'm actually surprised we are mathematically still in it, because I was sure we were gonna lose against Juventus too.

Clearly, a loss against Milan has never been more of a big deal than this season. The league is played with multiple ups and downs... but that one is hurting us so much that we need 2 draws or 1 loss from Milan now and I really doubt that is happening.

This fool keeps getting in his own way with these cowardly subs. The most criminal being CONSTANTLY and unnecessarily taking out Lautaro for Dzeko.

Dzeko for Lautaro as a defensive move works on paper only - the expectation of course being that Dzeko is larger, holds the ball up with his physical strength, wins more headers against defenders etc. In reality, putting Dzeko on for Lautaro, especially when Lautaro is in red-hot form, is fucking sabotage of the highest order.

Dzeko can barely even control the ball these days. We win possession and commit numbers forward on the counter. The ball goes to Dzeko and he immediately loses the ball due to his clumsiness. Then we're caught on the counter with our players out of position. Subbing Dzeko on is not a defensive move, it's the exact opposite because he loses the ball incessantly.

I won't even talk about his abysmal finishing.

His subs, at times, befuddle and scare me. His taking off when a player gets a yellow is so conservative, but it appears to work most of the time.

Yeah I'm so pissed at Dzeko's total inablity to trap and hold the ball anymore. He seems to be like completely done. It could be the overusage in the first part of the season.

I think this time Inzaghi took Lautaro out because of the yellow but I'm sure he would have taken him out anyway, maybe later without the card.

His other subs were pretty spot on IMO. Vidal was actually good, played safe and didn't make a single mistake. D'Ambrosio was also good with his movement (forward or being available for passes). Sanchez for Correa was whatever but of course Sanchez is better than tired Correa who didn't care to press even that little he usually does.

I wasn't mad at his Lautaro sub as some of you. High adrenaline, high stakes game and still a large chunk of the game to play; plus Lautaro isn't exactly calmness personified. The game could have gone completely sideways. Lautaro pretty much subbed himself off by taking off his shirt.

Also, I think Inzaghi's thinking was that we hadn't had trouble getting the ball into Empoli's box the whole game, so even if they'd equalized it would have been reasonable to expect a goal from Dzeko and Sanchez vs this Empoli.

I think the frustration from most fans came from the fact that Lautaro, who scored two decisive goals, got subbed off before a shite Correa.

Lautaro was subbed so that he can be fresh(er) for Juventus + the yellow card. After the Juve game, I'm sure Lautaro will play at least 150 minutes

I love Simone, and with time I think he can be one of the greatest coaches, plus I don't think we can hire a more suitable coach than him now, but I do get the feeling there is some disconnection between the reality version of Dzeko and his fantasizing version.

Also agree on his cowardly subs, he overly adapted/reacted sometimes, today was actually ok though, but even Pep fucked up with cowardly subs recently, actually always. LOL

Hope Sunning won't fuck us up this summer. Cheers everyone!

He is a victim of his own success. If we had spent the whole season stuck in third place, paradoxically, nobody would have complained, but by overperforming in November and December everyone was deluded that we could have won again easily. Personally I remember how low my expectations were before the season started and so I say he's done great work. If only we had real owners I'd be cautiously optimistic for the future.

While Inzaghi has his flaws this year's Scudetto was lost due to series of individual mistakes from De Vrij, Handanovic and Radu with his latest exhibition.

Give him another year to hopefuly fix his tactical inflexibility and judge later. The potential is there.
