No. He is good enough to be leading striker here (or we believe will be good enough very soon) if we can't buy top top striker like Haaland. He also need reliable partner like he was reliable partner to Lukaku.
For all people who want to sell just two very simple questions...who is that player better than him and also much cheaper of course cause if we sell him there is no way we will spend even 70-80% on new striker?! And why top clubs interested in Lautaro are not interested in this players?
Its a sticky situation! I like Lautaro attitude and work rate and he can score some nice goals. With right partner maybe he can improve his scoring too and get near to Lukaku figures?
Lautaro is weird case when you look him play. He is not the fastest, he has hard time to get past his man on one/one, he is not the best at his back to goal/covering and he is not that clinical front of the goal.
Don’t get me wrong I would like to see Lautaro-Dybala under Inzaghi, but I have my concerns for that duo too? Both are pretty slow and small/light.
But I think the right question in our case is… are Suning selling us for that 700-800m or do anyone offer what they are asking for? Do we have enough money to cover Suning demands 60-80m + we also need atleast two new midfielders and two CB’s too to replace Vecino, Vidal, De Vrij and Rano.
That is the reality and I don’t think anybody here oppose to keep Lautaro and get Dybala, Frattesi, Veretout, Bremer + another CB? But is that possible with our current finance? If it is then great, but I don’t know how we finance that? This is the reason people are looking to our roster and giving their thoughs who is easiest to sell/replace to get enough money to cover all transfers and still have good enough team to challenge for scudetto?
We might get decent money from Satriano, Esposito, Pinamonti, Sensi, De Vrij… but is it enough? We will play every 3-4 days next season and we have been lucky with injuries this season and we need good bench to compite!
Maybe we can also sell Hakan or Dumfries but then we need to get their replacements too?
I don’t think we need to get better player than Lautaro but get someone close to his level + get Dybala to replace Sanchez.
Im thinking Jovic or Martial on loan with half their wage and only option to buy ~€20-25m. Both are big risk but both can be good at Inzaghi system? Inzaghi did wonders with Immobile who sucked at Dortmund/Sevilla/loan back to Torino before Lazio.
Jovic has impossible task to bench Benzema and I bet Real is eager to get rid of him this summer.
Same goes to Martial. He is under performing at Seville now with couple injuries. But 2019/2020 season he was one of the best ManU players under Solkjaer and he played striker position that season.
We could also be looking for Suarez, Zapata, Muriel… with low fee/lower wages than Lautaro? Is it good enough Im not sure?
