the last thing we need now is to tie an old player down to a lengthy, expensive contract - reeks of a golden handshake like many of our other signings.
We also have Gosens to replace Perisic, and Perisic alone is like 10%+ of our wage bill.
It's sad that it comes to an end, especially after the season he's had, but he's better off enjoying his new signing on bonus and playing in the Premiership again for a couple of seasons, and Inter can move on and bringt hrough new talent at LWB. Our squad is in desperate need of rejuvenation.

Perisic's new salary would have been like 13m a season gross to us - Mikhi I think they're suggesting is like 4 or 5m gross?
And of course, we've already prepared for Perisic leaving with Gosens here

With 2 year deal, I didn't see any risks with that contract, at all.
However what is good, is we already have the replacement who is high quality so it's not like we are fucked in any capacity. We are just losing player who played at world class level recently and who has been professional in last years and extremely smart player generally.

Forum Supporter10 years of FIFaye, but by agreeing with tottenham, he's turning down our offer of 4.8+bonuses. I expect his tottenham contract wll come out more like the 6m euros/season net that he was looking for from Inter, so to keep him it would have been that much
