Schira says Monza, Cagliari and Atalanta are interested in this guy, unsure if it's a loan or not.

I hope he goes Atalanta personally - or might as well stay here and be in the 3 CB rotation.

From what I`ve read, Galliani went to Inter HQ to discuss extending the loans of both Pirola and Michele Di Gregorio.

FCInterNews report that Pirola would welcome an extended stay at the Brianza-based club, where he could continue to develop his talents.

Monza CEO Adriano Galliani is also pleased with the youngster’s development at the club, and is convinced that he will be a good addition to their squad going forward under new manager Giovanni Stroppa.

Inter want an obligation to buy to be inserted into the loan deal to clarify the player’s future, and this appears to be the main sticking point remaining with the potential deal.

Other Serie B clubs including Lecce and Parma are interested in Pirola, though it is understood that the player prefers staying at Monza.

Inter are also waiting for new manager Simone Inzaghi to assess the young center-back before making a decision, and waiting to see if interest from Serie A clubs Cagliari or Atalanta materializes.

I know we are desperate for money but isn’t this kid a top prospect for us?

Or is it after 5 games you owe us 3 million. But at the end of the season we buy him back for 5 million :)

Thanks for developing him for us

He's close returning to Monza on loan with an option to buy, 7m€ is the suggested price. We'll have a counter-option to buy him back. I don't really see an upside in these type of deals. Like, why can't we just sell him right now and we add an option to buy for us to buy him back and it becomes an obligation if Monza doesn't make it to Serie A?

Again, he's close to returning to Monza.

Option to buy is 7m€, counter-option is 8m€. Not sure when the counter-option is valid but at least Monza's option is next summer. That's nice plusvalenza for us with a protection of that counter-option.

So let's hope Pirola can lead Monza to Serie A. Then he plays in Monza for yet another season and then we buy him back for 8m€ at 2023. :)

Because Monza can`t afford him now + they don`t want to commit to spending, they just need free resources to try to get to Serie A.

Upside for the club is that the player is suppose to regularly play in Italy - means that the club sees something in him, as we are outsourcing his development to another italian side.

much worse things then another season in Serie B for a young CB. Next season he should be looking to make the step up. I don’t think Jorginho came out of Serie B till he was 21 or so.

On-loan Inter defender Lorenzo Pirola has suffered a sprain to his knee which will keep him out of action for his current club Monza.
This according to the Serie B side’s official site, where they confirm that the 19-year-old picked up the injury while on international duty with the Italian Under-21 team, though it is not yet known how long he will be on the sidelines.

Pirola was playing for the Azzurri Under-21 team against Ireland’s Under-21 team when he picked up the injury which forced him to come off the pitch.

The young defender was later assessed for the problem, with the tests revealing that he has picked up a knee sprain.

Pirola has been at Monza this season on loan with the Serie B team having decided to renew his loan after he impressed last season, but so far he has struggled for regular playing time with injuries in particular having been an issue.

Inter players, even the ones on loan, are always finding new and exciting ways to get injured. They ought to do a medical study on us.

Reports saying Monza wants to buy him for around 7M and Inter would have an 8M option to buy back... That doesnt sound bad.
No brainer really. If they also offer money for Sensi i am going to root for a Monza survival next season. 😀

According to FCINTERNEWS the situation is, Monza holds the right to redeem his card for 8m now, so he can become their player already unless we use counter option in which we pay them 9m and keep him, so they get 1m for using him in Serie B. At least this is what I understood, I could be wrong, someone should double check.
