I just got a reminder that Lautaro could've been Atletico's player 5 years ago. It was really Milito and Zanetti working hard to get him to Inter.

I’m going to take a *brief* pause from inter related doom-scrolling and say something positive. Lautaro is looking really sharp. I have a good feeling he may be ready to take the next step as long as he can avoid a prolonged drop in form like he had last year and in previous ones.

That's like hoping that this will finally be the time your crackhead relative doesn't relapse after he's come back from rehab the fifth time.

I can smell the Lukaku plus cash for Martinez transfer next summer already.

He began to show and add few new things to his game. I'm worried about his development in Lukaku's presence. Rom is a leader, I hope he shows humility and steps aside when needed. Lautaro is our main striker. Zhang is not helping with his crngy demands of Lukaku.

It might all be fabricated but Lukaku and lautaro really seem to be getting along great so i hope this wont be an issue.
Also they worked pretty well together before.

Lautaro Misfire Martinez
Can't tell if too harsh or just never kicked a ball...

First chance where Lukaku made the pass had only room for an instinct first time shot. You cannot aim those, you just hit the best you can and hope they land somewhere the goalkeeper isn't. Some are better than others at this, but it's not really something a player can control. Especially a parallel ball, and we've even conceded a goal at Bologna because the freaking goalkeeper couldn't really handle that, so imagine that moving full speed and having to aim as well...

Second one there was little to do, goalkeeper reacted well and defender closed him well. Only thing you could argue is that he could have feinted and dribbled to the right first time but that's something a handful of players were capable of in the last 30 years (think Ronaldo, Romario, Baggio, Messi and that kind of company). The shot could have gone right under the legs of the keeper but that's very marginal when you're running for the ball.

Video game football has ruined the entire concept for a lot of you people...

... but most importantly bias. If Lautaro was there instead of Lukaku when Lazaro made the parallel ball and didn't even get to it, you'd be fuming in this thread about how incapable he is. Heck, it'd be even worse if unlike Lukaku, he even got a foot on it and it tumbled somewhere else, because he'd... "miss". Double standards and it's still pre-season.

Oh and another thing that ruined shit for you is the fucking stats. Lautaro misses because he managed to make a dead situation into a shot. Weak chance shooting isn't a crime and it's better than absolutely nothing which is usually what most other strikers we have do in those cases.

This post is absolutely hilarious considering if it was Lukaku that missed Lautaro’s chances you’d have been the first to slate him. But all will be fine because say it with me Brehme……. ROMELUUUU LUKAKUUUUUU

Despite what you say is absolutely true, please don't constantly and unnecessarily provoke him. It's getting annoying.

During his two years here I said many times that I'd applaud Lukaku if he managed to move like Lautaro (whose movement isn't really on elite level).

If he misses after doing everything else great, there's nothing to say. If he misses while standing around the entire game and complains for the pass, the defenders being around, the goalkeeper being in front of him or a bird blocking his sight, then yes, I'd be slating him. Guess what happened more often out of these?

I think the issue the mods have is that this @kurt0411 has no interest in anything other than talking about me* and my alleged feelings for Lukaku. He adds nothing to FIF and he only adds a smirk in my face every time I see him trying to articulate (lol) an opinion.

And yes, I find it hilarious that some football videogame player who's never kicked a ball finds that post hilarious because it just proves the point.

I've been playing football for 20 years and I perfectly know what is difficult and what is easy.

And yes, he is a great footballer but also a misfire guy. His finishing is his worst side. When a striker has finishing as his worse, it is something not so good.

No he is not a misfire guy, everybody can miss 3-4 perfect chances.

Barella showed him how to score when the keeper is down.

And Lautaro showed Barella how to do a through ball?
I mean come on, I have seen Lautaro doing clip shot last year, and not to take anything away from Barella; they are both backbone players to us.

I'm talking about finishing skills. In a big CL games you may have 1-2 chances in 2 games with a big opponents and you have to score. Real Madrid, MC, Bayern won't give you 5-6 chances. Unfortunatelly both our strikers lack finishing.
Barella knows how to pass and he was one of the best assistant of Serie A.
