Gross likely MOTM but Welbeck equally deserving IMO. Very impressive from Brighton

ManYoo, a lot of work to build a team that EtH envisions. Will the Yanks be patient enough to give him sufficient time? Unlikely

Cancelo is the player I most regret losing in the last 10 years. I'd put him above even Kovacic and Coutinho.
Wasn't ours to begin with.

I think the loss of Hakimi hits different. Cancelo was all potential and hardly featured for like 4 months here at an acceptable level. For someone who whined about his position being right full back (Spalletti wanted to play him at right wing but Cancelo only wanted to play full back iirc) he's spent a lot of time at left back and wing back at both flanks after leaving us.

Very talented player but not so sure he was the best fit for Inter. He's hardly required to defend at City and in Italy he was almost always caught in the wrong position.
Might have been great as right wing back but it feels like Hakimi was the big miss in that position. On the plus side, Hakimi belonged to us as well, Cancelo was here with a high option and we didn't leverage the Kondogbia deal properly back then, especially when Juventus swooped in. A certain Marotta, by the way

I’d argue Cancelo is probably a more talented player. What made Hakimi special was his physical attributes primarily. However he seemed a great fit for the group. One of the knocks on Cancelo during his time in Italy was his attitude. He didn’t seem to get on with either Spalletti or Allegri. Probably because he wanted to play attacking football and well, this is Italy. Cancelo long term here probably wasn’t sustainable, Hakimi was and that’s why it hurts so much to lose him.

Of course, Cancelo is far more talented than Hakimi.

Hakimi's ball control is below par for someone who grew up playing football in Spain, Cancelo's is impeccable. Hakimi is not just a speed merchant of course, he's very smart about his runs, knows how to initiate a one-two and knows where and when to run. Different players. It depends on what kind of football you want to employ. A more direct style would prefer Hakimi whereas one that dictates tempo and has possession would prefer Cancelo.

Every year I try and get myself excited for EPL matches, and every year I end up giving up after the first weekend.
Use to watch more often, but here the States if you really want follow the EPL have to pay extra so now unless it's on for the normal cable forget it. Only in the US could something called "cornhole" be considered a sport, waiting in quite desperation for lawn darts to be in big money sport:palm:

West - City was a snoozefest.

Haaland did his thing, when City plays fast they are venomous, Haaland will score a thousand goals for them in a decade or less time.

Foden as RW is good for crossing, KDB and Gundogan bossing, while Grealish still looks sluggish. I think he isn't as effective if he doesn't pull the strings, we probably won't see the real Grealish until KdB won't be starting matches anymore and he takes his position

I think we are seeing the real Grealish, he’s had more than enough time to settle in. He’s just not quality enough to be a consistent starter for City let alone be worth 100 million anything.
