He's lacking confidence due to his injuries.
Little early to give up on him, didn't really play last season and this preseason was used sparingly. Giving him to the World Cup break to make a judgment, hoping for the best.
Dimarco said after today's match that he will be working with Gosens this week. I think he's frustrated with the injuries and his confidence isn't all that high yet. Hopefully today's last second winner is a massive boost.

Not much worried as Perisic is the most overrated player ever by this forum. Gosens can achieve that level in 2 months time.

I think we need to adjust our expectation for Gosens. He's not the kind of player who can dribble past 2 opposition players and creates a play like Perisic. Gosens is exceptionally gifted in getting himself in good position for a cross or a shot. We need to adjust our tactics accordingly. Those on the opposing side (like Skriniar, Brozo and Barella) need to pay special attention to this. Otherwise he'll just run up and down like Nagatomo...
Exactly. I have been saying this since the first moment we were linked with him. The guy isn't a creator. He gets into advantageous positions through the system and that's where he can be dangerous. We need to adjust to get the best out of him.

People need to stop making comparisons with Perisic. Different players. It was the same when people compared Dumfries with Hakimi.

And fwiw, we could have done a lot worse than Dumfries as Hakimi’s replacement. He might not be as graceful or technical as the Moroccan or TAA or Cancelo but he’s still a damn good player with his own set of skills.

People seem to forget about Gosens and how good he was leading up to Euro ‘20 with Atalanta and Germany. Last year was complicated with injuries but he can reach that level again with us. I have no doubt. He does need time though.

You wot mate ? Perisic was overrated? He was the best winger in Serie A last season and the rest of the world are agree with that. He's a complete player! Good in the air, defending, dribbling, playmaking and crossing, he also can play on both sides even striker. You deserve Schelloto mate.

Think the critique is a bit harsh yes he was not great but he alos made a couple of great runs where we could have attacked with pace but our midfielders decided to ignore him...

He had a great last 6 months at the club. The recency bias is very strong in the Inter fanbase. Totally ignoring the years of inconsistent form.

Enough time to pass judgement on Gosens though so I don't see why this excuse works for Perisic.
I'm all for giving Gosens until at least the WC before passing any judgement, but his situation at Inter is in no way equivalent to Perisic's at Tottenham. If nothing else, because Gosens has been here since January, and Perisic only for a few weeks, most of which he's been recovering from injury.

As long as the injury doesn’t become a consistent problem, this guy will still be the same monster he’s always been.

With the amount that Basto/Dimarco push forward, Gosens is going to find himself in the box an awful lot and that’s where he thrives.

Should start getting worried. This guy was INVISIBLE. 80th min I tried looking to see where he was on the pitch as he wasn’t seeing action. So invisible he wasn’t even on the screen as he pushed all the way forward. With dum fries tracking to midfield which he was able to receive a pass

So….. is this an obligation to buy him or can we send him back?

I’ll give him till the second half of the season before I’m worried. If he can stay fit and doesn’t get it together by January then we definitely have a problem.

Maybe we should’ve went for udogie instead, younger, cheaper, better
Cheaper for English clubs, not for Inter. We spent all we had for the loan return of the Milan King.

Gosens was an establiahed player. We wanted a proven player for Perisic replacement. Udogie wasn't one.
