His judgement will get better when he plays more. On ability, Onana is currently much better than Handanovic.
Also, he is much more aggressive and has the ability to dominate. If Handanovic put his body on the line, like Onana did yesterday, he would be injured.

He’s as ready as he’s going to be. Just make the switch and let him play it out. Handa doesn’t have the confidence of team, fans, or probably even in himself at this point.
Yes people will assign blame to Handanovic for literally anything, but there’s no denying his rapidly declining athleticism.
Locker-room dynamics and momentum count for a lot and it’s not like Handa is exactly inspiring confidence at the moment. He’s also the captain so this permeates throughout the team.

10 years of FIFHe is decent. His overaggression to claim attacking crosses against barca was unnecessary and backfiring. Against Sassuolo, he made a couple of leg saves on non-difficult shots while a better keeper would use his hands. Not sure if it is a lack of concentration or lack of technique. He is still few levels below prime Handa. That being said, he is currently our best GK because at least he repels incoming balls from his goal.

Most Humorous MemberThe poor judgment of high balls is a massive and consistent issue. We got lucky there was a handball in the disallowed goal against Barca. Onana made a poor decision to leap out and try to punch the ball away, ended up either misjudging the cross or simply fucking up his execution. This kind of thing seems to be worryingly common with Onana from what I've seen.
Funny isn't it. We have one keeper who can't catch or even contest a high ball if his life depended on it and another who hurls himself at crosses when he has no chance of reaching them. Hopefully our opponents choose to keep the ball on the ground huh.

This poor judgement on high balls was his main issue when he started with Ajax too.
Over time it almost disappeared. Hopefully when time goes on, and when he plays regurly it will disappear again while playing for us.

I think for balls that are close, but not close enough to contest, you are supposed to treat it like a 1 on 1 situation, like close down, not just stand on the goal line.
Also his incorrect judgement is more of trying to catch it(? At least he wasn't punching it) instead of punching it away.
