Worst transfer ever?
It’s honestly starting to feel like Correa is going to eclipse Radja. At least Radja scored against Juve and against Empoli to get us in the CL.

It was a shit transfer but we have had far worse. I would say Mario and Correa are up there amongst the worse transfers in Inter history.

The former because of his cost and the fact that he was given every opportunity to prove himself but failed to do so and the latter because he is rubbish and always injured.

Two worst transfers of Inter history are Coco - Seedorf & Carini - Cannavaro exchanges. Nothing else comes even close to those. I would say that these are arguably some of the worst transfers of all time. Some transfers look good on paper and turn out to be terrible in hindsight (Nainggolan is one of those for sure). The two above looked awful from the start and ended up being even worse than predicted. People who hate on our recent transfer policies forget how catastrophically terrible our transfer market decision-making has been since the dawn of Massimo Moratti era. This is something that did not start during banter era - it's something that we've inherited, the difference being we don't have bottomless pockets anymore to cover up for these massive fuck-ups.

Nobody in their right mind would do a Cannavaro - Carini swap. It's a controversial transfer which isn't due to the incompetence of Inter.
From what I remember is that Cannavaro got pressurized in joinin juBe - otherwise he would have been outcasted of playing for the national team.

It's like I say Correa scored against Chievo Verona last season to get us in the CL. At the end of season all points matter, not one in this or that particular fixture. I don't get the logic behind saying at least Naingolann or Vidal scored against X team so they're worth the money.

For the price Naingolann cost us, which led to losing a more expensive player in Zaniolo as well, he was definitely a worse transfer than Correa. I believe we can still get rid of Correa for some money. That wasn't the case for Naingolann. So that's another negative point we should get into consideration.

The Cannavaro part of the story is one thing. The fact that we got freaking Carini for it is a completely different one

CAGLIARI TO OFFER CONTRACT TO NAINGGOLAN
Radja Nainggolan seems destined to leave Royal Antwerp and Cagliari are keen on bringing the Belgian back to Sardinia, reports highlight.

The 34-year-old midfielder returned to Belgium in August 2021 after leaving Inter on a free transfer, signing a two-year deal with Royal Antwerp. Things initially started well but his time with the club has been derailed following the controversial sight of him vaping on the bench after being taken off in a 3-0 loss to Standard Liege back in October.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Cagliari are interested in bringing Nainggolan back to Sardinia and are ready to offer him a contract, but only at lower figures than what he’s currently asking for. The two parties will meet in the coming days to try to find an agreement.

Nainggolan has already spent six years total with the Rossoblu, initially from 2010 to 2014 before returning on loan in 2019 for 18 months. A fan favourite of the Sardinian outfit, the Belgian midfielder has scored 14 goals and provided 13 assists across 188 appearances for the club in the past.
Old habits die hard :D

Di Marzio details how SPAL have been in contact with Nainggolan to discuss a possible move, with Daniele De Rossi’s side keen to reinforce their midfield with the experienced Belgian.

De Rossi knows the 34-year-old well from their time together in the Italian capital and suggested that he’d be happy to work with the player again should he join the Serie B side.

“TREATED LIKE A PARASITE AT ANTWERP, PLAYING FOR PEANUTS AT SPAL”, NAINGGOLAN OPENS UP

Radja Nainggolan did not mince his words when reflecting on his recent experience at Royal Antwerp and touched on his low-cost contract at SPAL.
The 34-year-old Belgian midfielder did not have a particularly positive 18-month spell with his hometown club, showing brief flashes of brilliance amidst an otherwise anonymous run with the side.

Nainggolan was suspended back in October after openly smoking an e-cigarette on the bench in a 3-0 loss to Standard Liege, an act that signalled the end of his time with Royal Antwerp. The former Roma man joined Serie B side SPAL in January on a six-month deal.

Speaking to the Antwerp Gazette, Nainggolan shared his frustrations over his 18-month spell with Royal Antwerp.
“They treated me like a parasite, a piece of sh*t… When I was put in the B team the players then tried to convince Overmars to keep me with the A team, it was a good thing for me, but nobody really dared to go against Gheysens (the Royal Antwerp president, ed.).
“I continued to do my best in the B team, tried to support those young guys and made no mistakes there. But how I was treated in the last weeks there, I have never seen that before. And I have been in many places.
“I couldn’t go in the main entrance anymore, I could only go in at times when the first team wasn’t there, I had to go to a different locker room every day, I was treated like a pest.
“At one point my watch was even stolen because the young players were constantly going in and out of that locker room.”

The 34-year-old Belgian midfielder then expressed his bitterness towards Royal Antwerp and why he left for SPAL in the January transfer window.
“My daughters were one of the main reasons why I returned to Belgium. Whereas before I only saw them during holidays, since I returned to Antwerp, they have lived with me full-time again. Everyone knew quite well how important this was for me.
“So, I wanted to stay in Belgium, for my daughters. To do that, however, I would have had to leave more money. It wasn’t a problem, here at SPAL I play for ‘peanuts’, but for seriousness. Gheysens forced me to leave Belgium after I had already lost a million.
“He just wanted me out of the country. He’s a great businessman, but that’s where it ends. That Antwerp took away my enjoyment of football, but I’ll get it back. But I will never forgive him for having to leave my daughters behind.”

Nainggolan has made five Serie B appearances for SPAL since his arrival in January, scoring one goal and providing one assist in that time.
This guy is hopeless :palm: typical toxic personality - he blames others instead of admitting his mistakes (like vaping by the pitch)

Seems like SPAL already terminated his contract :yao:

Nainggolan: ‘Conte wanted me at all costs at Chelsea’
Radja Nainggolan looked back at his hot-and-cold relationship with Antonio Conte at Inter and admitted he ‘would’ve stayed’ with Roma had things turned out differently.

The 35-year-old Belgian midfielder, who is currently a free agent, spent 11 years of his career in Serie A from 2010 to 2021, spending time with Cagliari, the Giallorossi and the Nerazzurri.

A divisive player, Nainggolan was loved by many supporters for his passion and ability to come up with magic moments, but his controversial behaviour off the pitch continued to follow him throughout his career.

Speaking on the YouTube channel Controcalcio, Nainggolan first gave his thoughts on Romelu Lukaku following the striker’s turbulent summer.
“He has a winning and important mentality, a strong character. Because of his characteristics he can give a shake to many youngsters who weren’t at their best. I’m curious to see Roma from now on.
“In the past he has always scored a lot of goals, it’s no coincidence that he is the all-time scorer of the Belgian national team.
“Inter won the Scudetto with him, it depends on him, if he scores 30 goals other scenarios open up for him. I hope he does well, he is a guy who has worked hard to get where he is today.”

The 35-year-old discussed his plans for the future.
“I’m fine, I still want to play because I still feel strong. As long as my body holds up. Only for now no one wants me!”

He remembered his time working under Luciano Spalletti and Conte.
“I had more fun with Spalletti than with anyone else, Conte was also good. At Inter I was no longer part of Conte’s project, he was clear with me, but he remains a great coach.
“At Chelsea, he wanted me at all costs, then I went to Inter and he rejected me.”

Nainggolan reflected on his departure from Roma.

“I only regretted leaving because there was a director (Monchi, ed.) who did everything he could to sell me, that’s why I decided to leave.
“But if I had known he would leave after six months, I would have stayed. Unfortunately, that’s how I am, I can’t stay with someone who doesn’t want me.”

Finally, Nainggolan weighed in on the Serie A title race this season.
“I see Inter as favourites again this year, they were favourites last year too because there are few squads like them as a team. I don’t see Juve as bad, then I see a very strong Milan.”
Lukaku having an "important mentality, a strong character."

If lakaka is his standard of an 'important mentality and strong character', it should be no surprise his career has gone down the shitters.
