Bayern are having their typical game against Gladbach. Borussia up 2-1 after 60 minutes.

Thuram finishes off Bayern.. I still don't know if the Upamecano red was even a foul.

before anyone jumps on the Thuram bandwagon again, this is his first goal since early november and he was also benched today.

Last 5 Bayern matches against Gladbach. 2 draws, 3 losses. The fact Gladbach lost last week against Hertha makes it even more entertaining.

In theory Union and Dortmund have easy matches against Hertha and Schalke tomorrow. But it remains to be seen on the pitch. Things could get interesting.

Didn't see enough fight from Union either, weird.

They don't know how to deal with pressure. They got involved in a title fight out of nowhere and they started the game today with the obligation to win. Well pressure crushed them.

Dortmund already up 2-0. Adeyemi has been great post World Cup and he's finally playing to his true potential. First round Adeyemi was unrecognizable compared to the player he was at Salzburg. If his injury is serious it will be a huge blow for Dortmund.

Jule Brandt also playing a key role in what we see from Dortmund. Dude unleashed himself big time this season. The season starts to become interesting with Leipzig also being in reach and Christo Nkunku coming back after injury.

Stake sale in Bundesliga media rights business to launch early March -sources

FRANKFURT, Feb 22 (Reuters) - Germany's soccer governing body is poised to kick off the sale of a stake in the Bundesliga's media rights business that could fetch $2.9 billion, sources familiar with the matter said.

Deutsche Fussball Liga (DFL) plans to launch the formal sale process in early March, the sources told Reuters. One of the sources said DFL aims to find a buyer for "at least" 15% of the media rights business.

The holding company that controls the media rights is valued at between 15 and 18 billion euros, the sources said, meaning a 15% stake could be worth about 2.7 billion euros ($2.9 billion).

National soccer leagues in Europe are increasingly eyeing external funding around broadcasting arrangements as they look at ways to boost revenues and increase their global reach.

The Bundesliga is ranked as Europe's second biggest soccer league by revenue after England's Premier League.

DFL began informally sounding out bidders last year, but delays in gaining consensus among German clubs resulted in the resignation of its former chief executive Donata Hopfen.

Prospective investors are likely to begin with due diligence in early March, two of the sources said. Initial bids will be collected at the end of March with two or three preferred bidders selected at the start of April, the sources added.

Deals involving football clubs are boosting lacklustre M&A activity in Europe as the spike in interest rates has complicated financing for transactions.

In Britain, Manchester United's owners have invited bidders to make offers for the club, while rival Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur recently received a $3.75 billion bid from Iranian-American billionaire Jahm Najafi.

Private equity firms including Blackstone (BX.N), CVC, KKR (KKR.N) and Advent are among bidders considering offers, with U.S. investor Sixth Street looking to make a bid with its sports and entertainment portfolio firm Legends, the sources said.

Bridgepoint (BPTB.L) and EQT (EQTAB.ST) had also previously reportedly shown interest in the business.

DFL, Advent, CVC, KKR, EQT, Blackstone and Sixth Street declined to comment. Bridgepoint was not immediately available for comment.

In mid-April, DFL clubs will review and give the green light for final talks before final bids are collected in May, two of the sources said.

A final decision is expected at the end of June, with a two-thirds majority sign off required from Bundelisga clubs, these sources added.

Meanwhile in Italy... :palm:

good job Schalke, fucking up Union Berlin and BVB.

Trust me. At Gelsenkirchen they really enjoyed taking points from Dortmund. Revierderby (Dortmund-Schalke) is the biggest rivalry in Germany. It may not be as glamorous as Der Klassiker (Bayern-Dortmund) but it's certainly the most passionate. For Schalke it was payback for 2007 when a loss in Revierderby had cost them the title.

Schalke looked certain to go down but they got 8 points in the last 4 games so they're very much alive in the fight.

Two week break til Bayern, Dortmund will need it.

Shame Kehl doesn't see Dahoud and Guerreiro as part of Dortmunds future plans. Tuchel and Favre had Guerreiro playing in midfield and he was thriving, not sure why he's back at LB. Hopefully Inter scouts are watching.

That was a real shock. Not because Leverkusen are a bad team. In fact their league position is deceiving about the quality of the squad. But you just don't expect Neverkusen ever doing anything useful.

Der Klassiker is going to be huge.

Can't bring myself to care about it tbh

I despise Bayern so hopefully you can do it but over time I've learned not to trust BVB
