This is depressing.
Whether it's depressing or just about adequate depends very much on the quality of the D'Ambrosio replacement we get. If it's someone reliable, then it's not too bad given the circumstances.

Bastoni (new DDA) - Acerbi (de Vrij) - new starting CB (new DDA)

Typing that out, even in the best case scenario, it still looks a bit thin.

And I've just realised this is probably the wrong thread.

Frattesi rumors are nice, but should we really give away all our best talent for an older/ slightly more proven talent? If we’re going to do that, I would rather work with Atalanta on a deal for Scalvini. Plus Frattesi would probably guarantee one of our starting midfielders is out the door (it’s not Mkhitaryan).

The only way I see us seriously pursuing Frattesi is if we push out Brozovic.

No we shouldn't. There are dozens players we can get on loan to strenghten the midfield. No need to sacrifice our talented youngsters in the process.

Which would have been stupid. It's been a while since we've had champs in the team. Brozo is one of these whom has earned so much experience at the highest level, be it on team competiton or international competition. We need him to stick around, unless he wants to leave (because of not having a guaranteed starter spot).

Frattesi should arrive only as a Gags replacement IMO, otherwise we're just throwing away a proven champ for a promising player.

Then again, we don't know whats the clubs plans for the upcoming seasons. If we are aiming for Scudetto and more, then we definitely need to keep Brozo and bring quality players to replace garbage like Gags and Correa.

I think Scalvini or another CB is our priority, we don’t have new D’Ambrosio, it’s Darmian. I want to see what we will do with Dumfries, he seems to be marketable, if we let him go, we need new WB as well.

That's great in theory, but Gags has played less than 1,000 minutes across all competitions this season. Unless we expect Mkhi's minutes to reduce drastically and also go to Frattesi, that's not worth the investment it will take.

Mkhi's minutes should be reduced significiantly because we don't know whether he's going to be that productive in the next season as well. I actually don't care whether it's Frattesi or any other name as long as it brings quality in the midfield.

The key is that we should have enough quality in the bench as well. We cannot afford to make rotations while our options are rather garbage.

Mhki's AND Barella's minutes should be reduced. We need to have enough players to play in Serie A and in CL next season.

I don’t know why we have to make a big mess in the midfield— Gagliardini leaves, we replace him with Fabbian, a talented goal scoring mid from our youth sector who was Reggina’s player of the season.

Our midfield is then Barella, Calhanoglu, Brozovic, Mikhitaryan, Asllani, and Fabbian. Easily the best in serie a and we gain an extra player slot from Fabbian being club-trained.

Fix the fucking defense and inject some pace and dribbling into this team before we go messing with the thing that actually works you fools.

That's now how this club operates. We'll try and swap Brozovic for Kessie all summer before signing an aging, slow Zapata on loan.

Fratessi is very expensive, it definitely doesn't cost 40 million

We don't have money so must either go for good old (Acerbi) or bad young (Bellanova), to sustain the current level of quality. Ofc we could find good young somewhere cheap, but it's low probability.

Unless we sell some blood, to "upgrade" our players' package. Which most would be against.

Frattesi is indeed too expensive. I wouldn't blow my load for his acquisition.
