Good deal.. at least not spending much for now .. Make him prove to stay 1st.
That means we might not go for any WC play maker this season..
We will stick with Stankovic as the AMC this season..

Dam what happend with branca and orali did they finaly take that crash course how to act on the transfermarket.
We got realy smart. I love this jimenez signing, especially since he s on loan so if he fails this season we dont have spent to much money and we can go and get nasri.
Also i love to see that oure board shows that they have faith in the Team they alredy have and don t throw out money on fancy names wich we don t need.
Till now we realy got the players we need now we only need to get rid of recoba and get a quality lb and maybe another dm backup then we would be all settled.

Moratti and all the Inter players said "wa really want Scudetto gain and especially winning Champions" but we will buy Jimenez, Kovac, Rivas.

What meaning?

I see your point, but Inter's current squad isn't that much short of a CL winning team. Although I do suspect we could suffer from lack of creativity in the dying seconds of a CL match.

Suazo and Chivu will be great transfers, but honestly, I see a trequartista as a bonus/non-necessity right now. We can't have six starters for four spots, especially not with the attackers we have, who make a three-man striker line possible, which is further possible with Chivu at LB.

jimenez would be a gamble for any uefa cup team, and for any CL team its simply a joke of a transfer.

Oriali and branca has to be sacked ASAP for inter to achieve anything on the market.
I saw few of your commentars, and i must say you are idiot. Gonzales out, Jimenez in, if he don't play good than he will be gone and no money trown!

Yet the sad thing is that you know and I know that Jiminez isn't here to replace Mariano. He's our centenary signing, in the form of an attacking midfielder. :yuck:

maybe true, but you must admit it was smart that it's only a loan? He's only 23 and who knows, maybe he can improve so much that he will stay with Inter long time.. i think we need one midelfielder, in case both Viera and Cambiasso are injured.. But who??

I'd rather a trophy than any player in our centenary year.

Anyway, transfer market-wise, the best present Moratti can give us is a squad more complete and robust so that it can handle injuries etc better than last year. No need for a Ronaldinho kind of signing.

Okay let me present a few situations to you. Last year when Ibra was out, we had a hard time scoring. Which player can contribute as much as Ibra offensively and creatively in our side? Ibra himself was monstrous- he carried the team creativity-wise in games he played. You think he is going to be THAT DOMINANT again? Let's not be complacent here.

Our midfield is a powerful one but where is the extra pass going to come from? Figo can't be counted on to do magic every single week that Ibra is off his game. And Ibra can't be counted on to carry the team every single week that he plays.

So you'd like a player of Ibra's quality to be Ibra's replacement when he can't play? It won't work. There are always if's and but's, but you can't have 40 players in your squad for that reason.

I say we believe in the current squad, also Figo and Ibra, rather than buying everyone who -could- do the same job for a mountain of money. If Adriano finds his old self, he can replace both Figo and Ibra. Now that we've given him a new chance, and he seems to be working his behind off, why should we buy a player that just might cut it? Rather one underperformer than two.

First off, let's get this Adriano notion out of our heads. As much as we love him, let's be realistic- he's not going to regain world class form just like that.

Secondly, it is true taht we are lacking in the creativity department. First off, not only does our starting midfield right now (w/o Figo in it obviously) lacks any creativity at all, but Ibra is the only creativity up front. If Ibra gets injured, we need creativity in the 2 forwards department.

Even if Ibra is on his game, we need creativity from midfield. Figo? That's it? I don't like it.

Jimenez (182cm) can play as a second striker and a centre forward (in addition to AM and SM). Sounds good!

Sounds good but not enough

To be honest I have not seen a lot of Jimenez. In terms of creativity he seems to be the right player. But I have a concern over his quality. I am afraid that he may be an average player, and that he may not be able to give to us what we are missing.

It is a nice scenario that if he does not perform we won't buy him at the end of the year, so we will spend less.

But our goal is not to spend less money.....
Our goal is to win the Champions League....

Hope that I am wrong but I believe that Jimenez is not the player you buy, if you wish to win the CL.....

I still remember if not mistaken reading mikes post that Jimenez was one of the most briliant players in Lazio and was the reason for them being in top 4 so why should we be sad at this transfer which I think is well executed by getting him on loan just to make sure things go smoothly.Bravo Inter board its those unkown small players who make a difference like maicon.

I have a feeling that Jimenez will quite soon become the fans favourite, if he's given the chance to play. :)

You guys have a fatal flaw. You lot are too optimistic. I salute LoneWolf over here b/c he sees it how it is- this is a failure. Moratti and Branca have spent the entire mercato trying to get two signings done- Suazo and Chivu. Great. One was a good signing, the other one was not needed yet now necessary b/c of Grosso's departure.

What about the midfield? Do they think that the ONE PLACE WHERE WE HAD huge holes b/c of injuries last year will fix itself? Do they feel that this year will be different and mids won't get as injured?

THINK AGAIN.

And one more thing- so if you guys are happy with this set up of ours, I'm assuming you like to go the big physical midfield route. Good. Then please tell me for 4 midfield spots we have 5 good people? What if two get injured? Then what? Do we inject creativity and upset the balance of the team when what we really need is some backup destroyers/big men?

Either go one way or the other- we get creativity and decided to go the 3 MEn - 1 FANTASIA route or we get more big men, like at least 2 more, and go the 4 DESTROYERS- if we are down late or need creativity take one off and inject Jimmynez and Figo route.
