Yea but remeber when we won Cup first time with Mancini..We celebrated it same!!! I mean, they don't win so often so it's normal..
I think they deserve it, i mean fair result would be 0-0 or 1-1, but they was playing on our stadion, and respect for fight they put tonight..
Stankovic and Viera was horrible.. I understand little bit Viera after so long injury, but Stankovic? He get little bit better as miedelfielder, but as AM? Terrible! I would like more Jimenez there or Recoba, if Stankovic continiu playing AM like this..
Burdisso..Well, he show exsactly why he is back up and not starter.. Still naive..But hopefully he'll learn from this..

This game was pretty pathetic. As much as I hate to admit it Azzkiker is right. Our management has done very little to address the issues we had w/ fast teams as seen in this game and the one against AZ. With one week left till the start of the league I have to admit things are not looking very good at all.

Playing 4 CBs at the back today certainly didnt help and I thought Cordoba was a huge liability most of the time. Ppl ragging on Burdisso doesnt surprise me though. We all know what he is capable of at CB why expct the same from him on the flank when he has limited ability to get up and swing the cross in.

1. we always choke in important games.
2. we always suck against fast playing team.
3. we lost a team that is very well put together tacticaly unlike ours. The point of a great coach is that his tactical makes the players play to 90-100% of their potential, spaletti does this at roma, mancini doesnt.

0-1 was a great result, we should thank guily for not making a yet another tennis loss.

Luckily the opening fixtures ain't as hard as last season's, otherwise we would be up for a proper beating.

Slightly offtopic, but what the hell is taking so much time to get rid of Cesar and Coco?

With that said we did have chances to win the game. Figo should've shot earlier after Ibras immaculate pass, Suazo should've buried his header as well.

Though if all the two teams chances had gone in, Roma would've buried us.

We were very poor, but even in a poor state we could have won the game, and besides Burdisso penalty give away, Roma would've never scored.

As our pre-season friendlies showed, we're just not in the same league as some of the top clubs. Our defense has no width. With Mancini playing who he played tonight, we had already lost. Our midfield is very static and doesn't move the ball like it should be. They have no pace either. Our strikers are top-notch, but have no support from the rest of the team, so they rarely finish. Changes need to be made

You people are hilarious, we make one important choke after another, season after season. Its sad how 2 derby wins and winning the weakest serie a ever can delude you people to think we have "the best team in europe".

Well... it's all known that our team is more about power. Mancini said so himself last year. And maybe it's wrong way to go. We do see it when we go to teams who like to play short and quick passes around the pitch. We don't even have time to use our strenght. But saying we have no creativity is bullshit. Ibra himself has more creativity than most teams put together. He was my best player of the game.

Materazzi's second half wasn't anywhere near the first. He made some horrible tackles in my eyes and only seemed great in air. He has done much better than this.

I am 100% sure we need to add an attacking minded central midfielder or attacking midfielder to the team.

Playing with four center-backs is not too much of an excuse. We're going to play with three center-backs this season anyway with Chivu in the left. But what worries me is that we've got nothing to make up for it in the attack. We have more defensive left-back so we wouldn't conceed as much, we won't but we also won't score that much.

Anyway, judging by this performance of Stankovic and Figo, Jimenez (and Solari) should have loads of chances this season. Though they obviously will get better as there is only way up for their performances.

I hope this is just a little panic moment, because we cannot afford to lose or draw our first Serie A game and it isn't an easy match. Never good for confidence. Will be one hell of a tough week.

But azzkikr, go support ****ing Chelsea if you want your team to replace every player there is.

bennyblanco, thing isn't about the importance of Supercoppa. If it's up to me, I don't really give rat ass about it, it's like half-friendly, half-official. But what I saw in this was test of our preparedness for upcoming season and it wasn't there. We played against team who should be on the same level of fitness like us and we were dull... No real passion once more. If player goes on pitch, he always goes with desire to win, even if they don't care about the little thing they may receive at the end of the match, they still want to beat their opponents. One thing is losing to team who is two-three weeks ahead of you in preparations, other to team on same level.

everyone was throughout the game..

I thought we bought Jimenez for creativity? He wasn't even on the bench today. I love Dejan but today he was our worst player, bar none, yet Mancini continued on although he was clearly burnt.

But what could he do. Viera was a mess today and so was Dacourt.

It just stunk.

SO??? Sorry to say this, but some people here think that we are in the leauge of a Barcelona, Chelsea etc. Well, WE AREN'T.

Also, we normally struggle in front of Roma, and that is because we are just richer than them, they are tactically much better and the more entertaining team. So a statement like that should come from a team MUCH better than Roma, not one just richer than them.

And people attack AZZKIKR but some of what he says is true. Same Inter again, no playmaker, no replacement in the summer, just focusing on areas where we are good.

That is not the end of the world, but we clearly need a player like Quaresma who will share the burden with Figo. Stan ISN'T A PLAYMAKER, stop misusing him because that just makes him look ridiculous. He isn't the type to create controversy for playing out of position, but sometimes I wish he were.

I though Jimenez was brough to be the playmaker. This was a great time to play him, a game that is important, but not the end of the world.

You never know. However, I would hate to see them make a hasty decision and get Merdmerson.

I can't even recall the managment looking for a midfielder this season when we clearly are in need of one.
