He is a great player, but it's right to let him go now. His contributions to Inter will forever be historical.

Happy I don't bond that much to players anymore.

Here is how they come up with the 99 million.Total sale = 25 million + 2 bonus = 27 millionTotal net until 2014 (salary saved) = (9 million/year + 3 bonus/year) x 3 years = 12 x 3 = 36 million (net)Total gross until 2014 = 72 millionTotal sale + total gross until 2014 = 27 + 72 = 99---------- Post added at 21:35 ---------- Previous post was at 21:13 ----------

Maybe people will use their basic math skills now.

So where does this 72 mill come from... I understand the sale value and salary saved over the 3 year period, but how does total gross become 72mill?

net salary of 12mil p.a.

roughly doubling because inter pays eto'o's taxes is 24mil p.a.

3 years of salary saved = 72 mil.

Why is he listed as having a net salary of 10.5 then in another of their publications?

Plus I thought the threshold for high earners was 30+ %

It might be that the overall cost for the club is around double the net salary. The tax rate for high-earners in 43%, not 50% but there might be other costs too (insurances etc.) so that it will be eventually roughly 50% of the net salary what the club has to pay. I can't find any other reason for that. Though like black pointed out, that 9m€ + 3m€ bonus is debatable. They are calculating like Eto'o would always get that +3m€ bonus. Most probably that is connected to team results and trophies.

I won't consider the saving to be 99m€ but more close to 85-90m€. Anyway, big moneys and important step to get our salary structure healthier.

:palm:

Talk about spin to make the sale seem like a good one. Those will be the "savings" ONLY IF we sell eto'o and buy no one.

Samuel Eto’o is expected to join Anzhi on Monday in a deal that will bring €99m into the Inter club coffers and €20.5m per season to the player.

“Thank you to everyone. I will always support Inter and ask just one thing – win even without me,” the Cameroon striker is quoted as telling teammates in the Gazzetta dello Sport.

It is widely reported the two clubs finally agreed a transfer fee worth €27m, including performance-related bonuses.

On top of that, Inter will benefit from the €12m per season wages saved until 2014, the date his contract was set to expire.

Including taxes, that figure is doubled for accounting purposes, so becomes €24m per season for three years.

In total, the €72m wage bill saving and the €27m transfer fee should boost the Inter club coffers to the tune of €99m.

It’s an amazing financial deal for Eto’o as well, considering there are reports in Cameroon he will earn €20.5m per season and be given a huge villa in Moscow.

Although Anzhi are a Dagestan club, the team will live and train in Moscow, only travelling for their ‘home’ games.

Analysis from Football Italia.net....................

A massive saving on one player, but at what cost on the pitch for the next couple of seasons.......

If the figures are confirmed, I'm quite disappointed about the deal. Yes, in absolute terms, 27 M€ for a 30-rs-old player who costs 10,5 M€/yr for his salary, may seem a good bargain even if he is world class. BUT, given the fact they are able to grant him 20 M€/year I think we could have caught more from them. But let's trust M&B on that matter, and assume that they did what they had to do on that matter.

But the news which gives me furious anger, is the new persisting rumour today telling that Anzhi arewilling to make a 40-M€ proposal to Barça to get...Dani Alves!
WTF?? How come a fucking fullback, (only 2 years younger than Eto'o, so it ain't a matter of age) is priced 10-M€ more than a world-class striker, one of the top5 worldwide? True that Eto’o contract runned until 2014, and 2015 for Alves, but that can’t explain the difference.
That's still utter non-sense. I hope it ain't true, if Anzhi does so, fuck them; and :thumbsdo: to our management, it would have meant Moratti & Branca fucked up on this one. It means that when they are negociating with us they are bitching for every pence to lower the best centre forward in the world’s price and ready to be Barça’s bitch to get an overrated (very good, but overrated) diving bitch fulback ? It would mean that they don’t respect us. :palm: :palm: :palm: :palm:
