Sniper rifle

In military and law enforcement terminology, a sniper rifle is a precision-rifle used to ensure more accurate placement of bullets at longer ranges than other small arms. A typical sniper rifle is built for optimal levels of accuracy, fitted with a telescopic sight and chambered for a military centerfire cartridge.

Maybe I am crazy but this weapon should be forbiden.

Example:

Acording to UN from 80 000 kids in Sarajevo Serbs shooted in 40% of them directly with Sniper rifle. Many of them with hard injuries and 53 dead.

We have a story where young mother learning his 1 year old son to claim on stairs and sniper shooting directlly in litlle boys head.

For me, that weapon is totally unhuman. What you think?

It was 1992 bro. Whole Yugoslavia was at war. It's shame what happened but weapons r weapons. Serbs were 4th military force in Europe at that point, no wonder they had such modern weapons.

Weapons don't kill people, people do. There are far more uglier weapons out there, like long range rockets or nuclear weapons.

I'm not against weapons of some sort (bar nuclear and mass destruction ones), but don't give it to everyone, and done deal. Use it for bigger purpose, like killing terrorists or something.

do you mean they should be banned from military use? weapons only tend to be banned/retired due to inhuman reasons rather than combat efficiency. the only weapons that are banned form General warfare under the Geneva convention are chemical weapons although weapons like Mines and napalm are no longer used by many UN members

if you mean banned from private ownership then most countries where gun regulation is possible it is in place in some way shape or form but at the end of the day if someone wants to run into a school, cinema, kids camp etc with a rifle/carbine/pistol then there's only so much that can be done to stop them

in General innocent kids don't get intentionally killed by sniper rifles (or any weapon) from the armed forces of UN member states, banning a weapon would reduce combat efficiency for those who 'play' by the rules but wouldn't stop those who wanted to kill civilians from doing so

True, but it makes it harder to kill

... anyway, my point was more to do with civilians and guns.
