I don`t see it as wasting funds but creating competition (which is always healthy), offering more options to the coach and increasing the assets of our club. Owners can only be happy with Marotta adding another young, valuable and performing young player for ~free.
Sorry but Milenković is not on Skriniar levels and the age difference is only 2 years.
Milenkovic was doing great as RCB, but since Fiorentina has changed the system, he definitely struggles as CB.

He'll probably end up at Tottenham anyway. Conte likes him, so does Paratici.

Again zero playing time for Niguez. Whatever happened to him.
Atletico always had better players in center midfield, his preferred position, so he was restricted to wide roles, subsequently lost confidence. He's a completely different player from 4 years ago (when he scored that goal vs Bayern in UCL), shit at everything but tries at least. Not sure if he was overrated or just needs time and a trusting coach

Nandez: TuttoMercatoWeb, GdS, Tuttoshit and others report that the Uruguayan is still very much on the radar and the club will still make his signing a major item on the January agenda.

“A hypothesis that always remains alive and which we also talked about last week. The negotiation with Cagliari will not be easy but, as mentioned, Marotta and Ausilio will definitely try.”

“Given the complexity of the deal, Inter are also looking for other alternatives. One idea is that of Bartosz Bereszynski, already followed in the past. For now, only thoughts while waiting for some other opportunities to appear on the horizon.”

GdS:
the Uruguayan midfielder has still not mentally recovered from seeing his proposed move to Inter in the summer fall away from sight.

He seemed all set to move to Inter on loan with an obligation for Inter to buy him outright but then the two clubs could not agree on the fee for the loan part of the deal. Eventually, Inter turned their attentions elsewhere and Nahitan Nandez had a period of time where he refused to train with Cagliari.

He is back in the set up of the Sardinian flag but he is still keen to join Inter as soon as possible. His versatility and desire could persuade Inter to sign him in the near future.

I don't understand that obsession with Nandez.

Worse version of Darmian. A guy who is solid but cannot dribble, has no pace and his best trait is good positioning. He's not even a starter as a wingback in national team because the coach prefers a guy from Derby Country.

Doesn't look like Rafinha is in Poch's plans going forward, we should look to secure him on a loan + option deal if possible. His wages are ridiculous at a whopping 7M, i'm sure PSG wouldn't mind sharing that burden. On another note, the youth player, Eric Dina, who has supplanted Rafinha is awesome to watch.

Finally some links to Zakaria. Not encouraging though.

INTER JOIN JUVE AND ROMA IN ZAKARIA RACE

Inter have joined Juventus and Roma in the chase for Switzerland international Denis Zakaria, as Borussia Monchengladbach won’t rule out a January exit.

The midfielder will be a free agent in June 2022, with his contract running down at the end of this season, making him hot property on the transfer market.

Juve and Roma have already been heavily linked with Zakaria, along with the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City in the Premier League.

“Could he leave in January? I can’t rule anything out in the era of Coronavirus,” Borussia Monchengladbach director Max Eberl told reporters.

“Our message is clear, we want to extend the contracts with Matthias Ginter and Denis Zakaria. They are looking not just for an economic deal, but one that will suit their sporting ambitions too.”

Inter had already been interested in Ginter as a potential heir to Stefan de Vrij, but are also now looking for a replacement should Marcelo Brozovic not extend his contract.

While Roma and Juventus both need to sell players first in order to free up funds for Zakaria, Inter might be given a little more freedom following the large summer sales, according to Calciomercato.com.

Amadou Diawara and Gonzalo Villar are on the market for the Giallorossi, while Juve could find it very tricky to get buyers for Aaron Ramsey, Adrien Rabiot or Rodrigo Bentancur, especially with their large salaries.

However, would not get my hopes high for signinig Zakaria on a free in 2022. Maybe if Marotta places a smart bid for January?

SportItalia journalist Gianluigi Longari reports, several clubs have initiated the first contacts for the Swiss midfielder, including Inter.

According to Sportitalia, Roma had expressed interest, but now Zakaria has changed agents and the percentages for the Giallorossi have reduced. For the Nerazzurri, however, there is competition: Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United and Barcelona. Right now the Catalans are the favorites to pick up Zakaria in 2022, when he will be able to sign as a free agent for next season.
In recent weeks, Inter have also been in the running for Denis Zakaria. Ausilio has made contact with his agent but there is a queue: it will take a lot of effort to bring the deal to an end. From the Nerazzurri's point of view, however, a lot will depend on the future of Marcelo Brozovic, who, like the Swiss, could sign with a new club in February. But 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' reveals a strong interest in Juventus, which could sink the blow already in the January market by paying a small compensation to Borussia M'gladbach.

Il Tempo claims the Swiss midfielder dreams of playing in the English Premier League.

Either way, seems like club should just extend Brozo.

PS: According to Calciomercato.com, Inter would be in advanced discussions with Kostic.

Zakaria wants to go to EPL, he won't come here. I am not sure why Inter are so desperate to sell Vecino only to buy Nandez. Thats not really an upgrade, they feel like similar level players.

Juve have put Kulusevski up for sale for 25m. Kulusevski has the attributes to be converted into an attacking mezzala. This change in position might just be exactly what that kids needs to transform. I wouldn't mind if Inter take a punt like that.

We are not desperate to sell Vecino but Vecino wants to leave to play more.

Juve is not going to sell Kulusevski to Inter for 25m€. :D I doubt his abilities as mezzala at current Inter. Blossomed at Parma in a very different role and circumstances. But he surely needs a new environment to find his game again. I guess he has the tools but coaches see him much more offensive player than mezzala.

Even if we disregard the fact this isn't going to happen for obvious reasons, Kulusevski didn't join Inter in the first place because he didn't want to play as mezzala. The player needs to be into it for the position switch to be successful and this doesn't seem to be the case.

I thought Kulusevski didn’t want to play as a wing back. This is the first I’ve heard anyone talk about him playing as a midfielder.
