When Correa and Sanchez were fit, Simone used to pick Correa.

Correa has really been criticised lately, but I like him because he's our only forward capable of dribbling past his man and he's stronger than Alexis.

Remember last season?Darmian saved our asses,we played full bus after that goal, hated the way we played. One of the ugliest wins ever.

Maybe Dzeko wakes up from his LaLaland with a new striking partner and bangs in few headers. Tudor is a tough mofo, we need to put this rubentina in his place after winning in Turin.

When I think about this match, I'm strongly reminded of 2 games in particular this season which which should've acted as a springboard and provided a morale boost for the players:

1) the Supercoppa win against juve, where we came from behind to win in extra time in dramatic fashion
2) the victory over Liverpool where we became the first team in a year to win at Anfield, also being one of two teams to keep a clean sheet at Anfield in nearly a year

As we all know, this did not happen. Instead, we followed up both of these great wins with fucking abysmal games. After winning the Supercoppa, we drew 0-0 against a COVID and injury-ravaged Atalanta - probably the single weakest Atalanta matchday squad in the Gasperini era. In fact we came much closer to losing were it not for a vintage Handanovic performance.

Likewise, following the lucky but encouraging win at Liverpool, we followed it with an underwhelming 1-1 draw against Fiorentina. Keep in mind that since 2000, we have a 85% win rate at home against Fiorentina.

This is a long-winded way of saying we have so far followed up big wins with big turds. Truth be told, we were fucking dismal against juve too and in terms of play, we were dominated from minute 1 to minute 90. That's not an encouraging sign.

But there really, really is no more time for fucking around. Once again we play before Milan and we can temporarily move to within 1 point if we beat Verona. If the once-in-a-decade win at juve wasn't enough to raise our spirits, Milan gave us extra motivation by dropping points to Bologna. If these fucking cunts can't win here, they can all go to hell. There's only so many times you can waste opportunities before the opportunities are gone.

I’m at the point that even if Dzeko doesn’t score, I’ll take him even just putting in a decent performance and not looking like a complete waste of a striker out there.

Handanovic
Skriniar De Vrij Dimarco
Dumfries Barella Brozovic Calhanoglu Perisic
Correa Dzeko

Is what's expected. I think fucking around that much with the defence is lunacy, especially considering the vintage performances we're seeing out of Skriniar in the middle.

GdS, SKY and SOS Fanta all predickting Dimarco to start over Bastoni. Otherwise the usual suspects with Correa slotting in for Lautaro in a 352 flat, no 3511. We'll see how it pans out on the pitch but maybe a game on the bench will be good for Bastoni considering how poor he was against juventus.

I want to see some Hakan / Correa combinations today.

Well, Inter knows exactly what at stake, today and the rest of the season: a long series of one game playoffs. FORZA INTER.

Just occurred to me that Handanovic traditionally has shockers against Verona. In November 2019 he gave away a ridiculous penalty after tackling Zaccagni. in December 2020 he inexplicably dropped a cross right at Skriniar's feet and Ilic poked his foot in between Skriniar's legs for the tap in. Then of course in our first meeting with Verona this season he misplaced a pass for Brozovic and gifted another easy goal to Ilic.

Ridiculous as Handanovic is though, we've won 10 of the last 11 home games against Verona and since our last defeat in 1992, we've had 18 wins, 4 draws and no losses. Anything other than a win tonight would simply be a massive, massive choke and an enormous statistical anomaly.

Then again, against Genoa we had won 7 in a row with a combined scoreline of 25-0...
Against Fiorentina we had won 18 of the previous 21 home games...
