Viola Roma 2-0

It would be good if Viola wins, that way Atalanta will be motivated to win vs bilan even if Roma wins vs Venezia before Atalanta's game. Lazio and Viola are also in the fight so it's a mess, but at least Atalanta will have motivation to win on Sunday.

I agree its a team effort but both league games against Inter you were extremly lucky you should lose both games but thats football, you scored your chances Inter not. You deserve this title but it was thanks to Inter fuckups more than your effort. Inter shot themselves and thats why they lost this. Congrats.
We're getting ahead of ourselves. We have won exactly nothing yet. The remaining fixtures are very difficult and anything is possible. As for your assertions about luck I can only say that we have been far more unlucky considering refereeing decisions, injuries etc. Our form against the top teams has shown that our mentality is quite strong and that we deserve our position. No one can say that we have fluked our way to the top of the table. The so called gap in quality between our clubs has been bridged by sacrifice and strong personality. To say that our challenge is MORE down to Inter's mistakes and luck than our performances is just disingenuous. Imagine what we could have done with Inter's LUCK with injuries alone. We may have been out of sight long ago..

I mean our achilleas heel this season has been our finishing and even then we are have scored a ton of goals! The second league derby was insane we dominated you guys off the park for about 70min then blacked out. I think Milan have been had a mix of luck because its not hard work that made Maignan work, Its Maldini getting that one right vs a salesmaker or haugue... same with Kalulu but the truth is this Milan project had the best start it ever could have had an entire year for young players without fans helped a lot of your players grow. Regardless at the end of the day there is no talk about deserving because whoever wins at the end DESERVES it! You guys have a fantastic project going on and I would say winning this would put you guys ahead of where your project currently is! Also Leao turning into a dynamic player is whats carrying you guys. I dont see anyone on sassuolo or Atalanta stopping him.

I agree for injuries and strong character, but let's not start this "referee decisions" topic. There were enough controversial decisions for both clubs, and please don't come with this shit "we won the league despite that referees and federation were against us". Because it is ridiculous.
And you are lucky or at least more lucky than Inter are. There is nothing wrong it that. Sorry, But Radu's mistake, Acerbi's one and the fuck up of Fiorentina's goalie are quite rare to be seen in general. But all of them happened in very short period, benefiting only one team - Milan. Of course, you can say that this is because of team's effort, strong mentality, hard pressing etc., but many many other teams also do these shits and quite rarely they get such a reward.

Watching Milan games makes my head spin. Every game it's leao winning a 1v1 as their only legitimate attacking move most of the game. And every game the brain dead serie a coaches think their slow mediocre RB can mark him 1v1. He's a great player and it shows just how much we lack a player like that.

In fairness, we've gotten takeaways in the oppositions half and ended up backpassing it to Handanovic.

It is funny that most posters on here are focusing on what Milan need to do and assuming that we will hold up our end of the bargain and win our remaining games.

Nothing is a given with Inter. Especially when we have a midweek fixture against the Hunchbacks from Turin. We were meant to beat Genoa and Bologna and we all know how those games ended.

Our results don’t matter if they don’t lose points. We need them to lose or tie.

Then we need to win and be 1 point ahead.

Even if we disregard the poor refereeing decisions the injuries alone would have derailed any other team in the league. Certainly Inter. For example Inter is unrecognizable whenever Brozovic is absent. And he's just ONE player. Imagine missing Bastoni, Skriniar, Barella or Lautaro for extended periods AT THE SAME TIME. If we are discussing luck then I think we can all agree that Inter has been quite fortunate in terms of injuries. Just look at what happened to Atalanta.... So don't misunderstand me I simply think we have had more challenges to overcome than Inter this season and us being first has more to do with our work than Inters misteps .. Just my two cents

Yeah it could be worse for sure. But we all know that when we are missing Brozo we have a big problem, he's too important for the system but also for the tatctics and generelly the team. It's like Milan missing Leao for example.
Handa and Brozovic are our most important players because we have no one to replace them. And Handa was missing in the most important game of the season, how is that not unlucky.

Milan fans always tryes to downgrade our team. Last year they said the same thing but we also missed some players when we played with Kolarov and Dambrosio in the defence against Milan. And most important we don't had a good preparation at that year because of the post Europa League games in August.

Na I'm definitely not trying to downgrade Inter. Far from it. On the contrary being on par with Inter for this long is remarkable considering the quality of their squad. Let's be real Inter's team contains more seasoned and accomplished players who know what it means to WIN. We have had to jump through hoops of fire JUST to keep up. I think it's just more irritating to admit to yourselves that a team with these issues managed to keep up with you and that's a very reasonable reaction to have...

I think you overrate how many players in our team know what it means to win. I mean yes we won the title last year but we were the best team in the league by a wide margin. It wasnt like we fought to the death til the very end. Then we sold our two most important attacking players and lost a world class caliber coach.

I don't think there was much of a gap between inter and Milan at the beginning of the season let alone now. People forget there were many thinking we'd struggle to finish top four in August. Inter have better top end talent but milan have better depth and both have similar quality coaches.

Milan are going to win the title this year because when they were absolutely suffering in front of goal, they locked down in defense and gutted out results even while they didn't play well. Which is what inter did last year. On the other side, inter are going to lose the title this year because we also suffered in front of goal but still leaked goals.

You should be very excited about the future of Milan. Leao, Theo, tonali, tomori, maignan are all great players for now and the future. If Maldini is smart he will turn down offers for them and focus on building out a squad around them rather than making wild expensive sales and purchases.

Finally admitting that there's not much of a gap between our teams is hindsight speaking but at the beginning of the season who on earth would have tipped us to be at the top especially after we only secured 2nd place at the 11th hour last season? I've seen quite a few in here say it's such a disgrace to trail THIS Milan, the worse squad in years blah blah...
You guys still say that there's NO ONE in Milan's first 11 worthy of starting at Inter except maybe Leao or Maignan...
Selling your 2 most important attackers didn't stop you lot from being top scorers in the league this season. Dumfries has done quite well. (but I'll admit that Dzeko is no Lukaku).
You said that Inter was the best team last season by a wide margin but Milan's squad this season is largely the same... we had a ton of injuries last season as well.
You think we have similar depth?? Certainly not in attack..
To my mind the only thing that has changed is Milan has simply improved further. Do
As for our coaches Inzaghi has made a couple errors but do you think that Inter would have defeated Liverpool with Conte at the helm? He's done well and installed a more attractive brand of football. Would I take him over Pioli? Hell naw but he's done well to me.

As I said, I'm fully agree about the injuries. Inter is quite dependant of few key players, like Brozo, Handana, Barella, Lautaro and Skriniar, because their substitutes are not on the required level. But apart from the heavy injuries, the rest is not only luck. It's also based on proper pre season, preparation, treatment by medical staff, etc. Depends from body structure of the particular person as well. For example Skriniar and Brozo get injured rarely. Sensi and Corea are quite opposite. Old farts like Sanchez, Vidal, Ibra are at big risk too.

Also when they missed all those important players, they had Ibra or Giroud,a born winners, who(even they couldnt play) always pushed that team to the limits. Meanwhile, our proven winner is tik tok instagram hack Vidal. And we got that old sack of shit for Tonali, who already become one of the best midfielders in league(again thank to Cunte and Suning). We were so ahead of them in last few seasons, and now they are going up and we are goin down. It really sucks.
Calling Ibrahimovic a born winner is one helluva bold take.
