Are we seriously going to sit here and pretend that Lautaro couldn't in any way, shape or form be replaced by someone else? Not even by the two attackers we are most closely linked to in, oh, I dunno, Dybala and Lukaku? I'm not a fan of the former, but the latter is almost guaranteed to give you at least 15 goals in Serie A, and if Marotta doesn't think Dybala has the qualities to replace someone like Lautaro, why is he hell-bent on giving him one of the biggest contracts in the squad?
Not saying there is much truth to the rumos, but 90 million euros would be a daylight robbery for Lautaro "I was very close to joining Barcelona" Martinez.

Skriniar, on the other hand, bleeds black and blue, and most importantly, plays the outer right centerback in our defense. That position is no joke, whilst most defenders are capable of playing in the middle. There's no way of knowing if Bremer (say we buy him) even has the capabiltiies or phyisical characteristics to play in that position. We know D'Ambrosio can deputize, but that is about it.
So what does selling Skriniar amount to? At this minute, if nothing else happens, Bastoni - De Vrij - D'Ambro. Alright, with the way especially De Vrij has been playing, that's a Lazio-worthy defense at best. So you're forced to find alternatives - the logical one would be Bremer, but his price is rising steadily (40 million, probably). As much as I love D'Ambro, he's not good enough to start 38 games. So, you're likely looking at Milenkovic for 15 million, and there's nothing that I've seen from him, that tells me he isn't a major downgrade to Skriniar.

Alright, you've uprooted two-thirds of your defence, sold Skriniar, likely the future captain and locker-room leader who has publicly stated he wants to stay forvever and clearly cherishes playing here for (maybe) 70 million and bought replacements for 55 million euros (that's if you can even buy Bremer). You've earned 15 million, and to get to that 60 million deficit, you need to sell another starter.

"Easier to replace" my ass.

I’m aware it’s fantasy land, of course, but Hakimi is the only thing that would help me swallow a Skriniar sale.

That would be great if we can get Hakimi back.

Then next year we can swap de Vrij for Skiriniar as well

I agree with Marotta in this case.
In principle: easier to replace a defender than an attacker.
And more importantly in this particular case, if we are to get Bremer. If we get Bremer for a 10m loan plus obligation (whatever the fuck we agree with Torino), we shoot two birds with one bullet. We could make that plusvalenza/profit we need and also find an excellent replacement.
It sucks Skrniar is on the table but the situation is what it is.

And only my opinion. With Bremer our defense has a real chance to be better. We play attacking football with high line defense. Bremer is better equiped than Skrniar. Bremer is more mobile and also faster. He can held his ground against faster players like Leao or Chiesa. That was the weak point of Skrniar. Bremer has also no problems against stronger players. He plays 2 games against Vlahovic this year and ate him alive.

I know it sucks but if Bremer comes, Marotta is right in this case (theoretically at least).

I understand Marotta stance on an attacker vs defender, and he maybe right. However, when names like Acerbi are considered viable replacements on defense, you begin to question the strategy.

Between Lautaro and Skriniar -

It is obvious that Skriniar as a defender > Lautaro as a forward.
And Skriniar has the captaincy attributes as well.

However, we know that you can replace Skriniar for 40m with the likes of a Bremer, a Botman or others out there. But we have seen how difficult it is to get a good attacker. For that money you are getting Scamacca today, who doesn't even guarantee the 15 goals that Lautaro has got. I find Gabriel Jesus worse than Lautaro, and he is going for 40-50mn.

Like I said earlier, I hate seeing Skriniar leave. Deep down, I still have the irrational belief that he will stay. Somehow we will find the gains from Dumfries, De Vrij, Pinamonti, .... But if a choice has to be made, I see what Marotta is thinking.

This should have been the utmost priority from January let alone the start of the mercato. In fact, this should just be a yearly critical mission moving forward - raise funds from other players to avoid selling one of our core.

These fucking chalf-faced goons KNEW from the beginning that we would need to raise yet another 60m from player sales. Yet, they've done nothing but sit on their ass with their feet up because they planed all along to take the easy way out and just sell one of our core players. They already tried with Bastoni and now those PSG animals are just giving them another excuse with Skriniar.

Wait wait wait are we seriously gonna act like it s easier to find a CB of skriniars caliber than find a replacement for lautaro?
Are you guys out of your mind? Theres a lot more good to great attackers than there are great defenders...
And skriniar has been amazing while lautaro has been good...

Now that all being said the fact that Dybala would be available on a free transfer makes that statement even more absurd. The dude even wants to join us and he is on the level of Lautaro where the fuck is the cheap CB on Skriniars level that we can get?

I am at a point where I'm happy to miss out on Dybala if we keep Skriniar and get Bremer :/
You should be happy about missing out on Lukaku, not Dybala. The former comes with a cost, have a huge salary, and all of this just for one season; while the former comes for free, have more or less the same salary as Lukaku, but coming on a permanent deal.

If Lukaku comes and not Dybala while we lose Skriniar, we are gonna be without any of them after this season. Terrible strategy.

I don't even want Lukaku either way, so we are in the same boat. If we take Dybala I do want either Sanchez or Džeko to stay and we try one year with Lautaro - Dybala - Correa - 4th choice - maybe a youngster just in case

Too much delusion on Bremer..... No Italian teams could buy him apart from Milan and Juve..... Lock Skriniar, Bastoni, De Vrij at the club and all set. (maybe we could searching Ranocchia spot if we don't trust Van Heusden so much)

If I were skriniar, I’d just see out my contract and move on.

The club has kinda shafted him a few times with trying to force him out so I’d just be like nah fuck you, I’ll be professional, play like a boss, see out my contract and pick where I wanna go.

Fucking hate this club right now.

PSG is not exactly Tottenham or some crappy club that could win fuck all. He's gonna earn a lot more there, play with some of the best players in the world, and fight for titles every year. So it's not like he's gonna rage about it and stick it to Inter's board by staying and leaving for free after this season. Not an act expected from a classy player like him.

Friendly reminder that Pedulla, who is yet to be wrong this transfer window, reported we agreed to sell Skriniar to Spurs in January but he blocked the move.

The problem is we need 60m right now to pay debt. That's why we need sell Skriniar.
Bremer is ideal replacement. We get Bremer money from some Skriniar fee after pay debt..plus Pinamonti money.

Same as last season we sell Hakimi because debt then replace him with Dumfries with some Lukaku money .

Hakimi and Skriniar sell are forced because we have debt.
