If not Neymar then it will be DiMaria. Chiesa-Vlahović-DiMaria. Brutal for Seria A.

Any ACL is a huge risk to happen again, also players usually do 60% of their usual in the first months because they are afraid. If Chiesa gets it again their season have a risk of being a toast. Thats why they are getting Kostic too. For a cover to A. Sandro and Chiesa.

DiMaria might be soon 35 years old and his best years look like behind him, but he can rattle this league big time. Both he and Kostic are assist kings.

All 3 of Pogba, DM and Kostic will bring a strong winning mentality up higher too. They had it only in defense. Thats a huge upgrade.

If they sell DeLigt and sign Kouly and SMS they will be on their previous nasty level. Favorites in a single mercato imo. Backed with Agnelli puppet refs.

They are the strongest def,its up to them to lose this..We could be that if we bring Dybala,Bremer and keep Skriniar, but it wont happen thanks to bycicle beggars.

Milan are currently favorites, I think. Especially if they get Renato, Ziyceh, DeKetelaere and remember Pobega, Adli loan returns and Acerbi as cover. Pioli handled the hard matches superbly, tighted the defense , they had so many 1-0's with ease, he switched from all attack to tight brutal narrow wins at all costs, something we simply can not do with Inzaghi. Blue9 is spot on. Also Maignan is gonna be the best GK in the world in a few years. We smashed them and put them in place in Coppa semis alright, but they handled that amazingly. Hard fixtures , all wins. Even Radu was saved being a Gresko.

We are being tested next year with the same hard schedule in May. All very difficult match ups.

But we will have Lukaku and cover for wher we need. My only worries are Gosens's reliabilty and Skriniar & Denzel future.

If Chiesa tears his ACL again I will cry, because the Azzurri will be toast.

Guys, you do realise that Milan have already got Tomori, Kalulu & Kjaer, which was Serie A's best defence last season? Milan are llooking to replacve their 4th choice CB (Romagnoli) and frankly even Acerbi would be an upgrade.

At Inter, we are talking about selling our leader and best CB Skriniar. And replacing him with Milenkovic. And most importantly, we don't have a coach who was genius in organising and setting up defences anymore (Conte). Now we have Inzaghi, defensive organisation isn't his strongest suit. Skriniar will be missed, not just coz of his defensive excellence, but also coz of his build up play which was among the best ion Europe last season:

I won’t disagree that Milan’s defense looks strong and is probably bolstered with Acerbi. I’m more content he didn’t land here because he’s not what we need at all.

Losing Skriniar is massive for many reasons, but I don’t think his ability with the ball at his feet is one of them. He’s a decent dribbler and passer, but nothing to brag about. And has absolutely no shot whatsoever. Whenever he’s about fire one off I always end up laughing. He’s just not the most technically gifted with the ball at his feet, but he’s a good enough defender to the point that it doesn’t really matter.

All of those 3 are anything but winning mentality. Especially Pogba.

Framing...

Let me remind you that if the rumors are true, Milan are going from Botman to Acerbi, that's how you should frame it.

And Milan's defense is fucking overrated. We played them 4 times just last year and they failed to impress even once.

Overrated? They had the least amount of goal conceded (tied with Napoli but 4 of the 31 goals against Milan were penalty vs Napoli's 1) which were pretty close to our 32 goals conceded.

I'd say their defense is solid and their offense is overrated.

Of course they have some merits that’s why they are rated in the first place.

However, watching them play and I dont have a feeling they are defensively solid. They got exposed far too often whenever their opponents decided to kick up the tempo. Then somehow survived thanks to Maignan or some mind boggling shit finishing.

Yea but its stats backed instead of your feeling. They only conceded 2 goals in the last 3 months of the season which was amazing. Kalulu and Tomori were absolutely amazing last season and of course as you said Maignan was a beast. Whether the consistency can be transfered to next season is another discussion.

I mean is that exactly how overrated works? I.e. you think something isn't as good as its numbers suggest and don't think the performance will sustain hence overrated?

Not really? You can call it deceiving if you disagree with the numbers but the fact is they had the best defense in the league.

This is a longer discussion about milan that I'd like so we can agree to disagree lol

100%. No one can convince me that this scudetto was anything but a fluke.

A game can be a fluke, a Scudetto is NEVER a fluke. Milan won it by showing the kind of consistency that is deserving of champions. Inter dropped the ball & got what we deserved. Its that simple.

So what? In the bigger context, it is a fluke. Just like Leicester title was a fluke. Leicester played the best, were the most consistent, got the most points, deserved the title, end of story. Still a fluke.

I don't like that kind of thinking because Inter's last seasons Scudetto can be considered as a fluke as well.

Fluke is a word that devalues an achievement such as Scudettos and I don't like it.

"Fluke" implies you think Milan won more due to luck than skill? I think the complete opposite. Milan won by being consistent which is the hallmark of champions, and their Scudetto was much of a "fluke" as Inter's last year.

Total of 91 points and 12 points ahead of the second one is not a fluke by any means.
