I still find people overreacting. Dzeko is more than good enough for a back up role. He can fit in for the last 30 mins when the intensity of the game has dropped. He can start matches once in a while too.

FWIW, Dzeko is still better than Pinamonti, whom most people here will be happy as a backup option and is valuated at 20m (mostly for the potential but still).

There must be a reason Juve and Dortmund want him, right?
No way he is better then Pinamonti, they wont him as cheep backup, and he probably has nothing against siting on bench. But he does not want to reduce his salary, that is way he will stay at Inter.

Dzeko is finished af. He might be good enough to get a goal here and there against a trash level side, but his overall performance to our play is exactly zilch. He's had some good ball control for a fella his size but even that has vanished. I’d also be surprised if he could run 100m in less than 15 seconds. He's way to slow these days, even for Serie A. Age just caught up to him, it’s normal

yeah its not logical minded to leave his massive salaries €6M at last year of his contract and at 36 years old (fossil period) for moving to other clubs.

Thats why we are bleeding 100M approximately every year for paying those fossil and mediocre ones (conte massive costs included). horrible deal from Marotta and Suning (zhang family)

Yep. I can see us getting Dybala in 2027. Three years contract, 6m per year. Fkn idiots.

Giving 35 year olds 2 year contracts, grande Marotta.

But if we gave him a 1 year contract he wouldn't have signed. Don't be so dumb please.

I still am waiting for what you guys would have done in his place last season after we sold Lukaku. I asked this question once and the name's I received were laughable.

Yeah unfortunately Dzeko was a necessary acquisition after Lukaku's betrayal. He costed 1.5m (after we secured CL) and yes the salary was high but it was necessary to get that veteran guy up front. You guys would have rather paid 40m for Zapata?

The downside with these veteran deals is always the cost and term. We were in a bad spot in negotiations so Dzeko agent had a lot of leverage. At least with Mkhi we protected ourselves with the clause (if he flops and doesn't play 50% of the games, we can terminate the deal). But these kind of clauses aren't always possible.

I'd say without Dzeko we wouldn't have been even fighting for the Scudetto till the end. He put us there in the first place even if he then stopped being useful at some point. We wouldn't have been able to get better player at similar cost (overall gross cost around 10m for two years, very little money to be paid to seller club).

Everton want him :)

They can pay his wages but will he accept a 1 year contract or they dumb enough to give him a long term one at 35?

Dzeko surely has no intention going to Everton.

You are right. He has every intention of staying at Inter, even if it means that he will predominantly sit on the bench.

still a problem with the club give 6M net salaries per year to sit on the bench week after week. the club shouldn't waste big sum of money like that just for pay mere benches

Yes, it is a big problem.
But CafeCordoba explained very well how we ended with Dzeko. It was late in the summer after Lukakus sale and we need badly that veteran upfront. Don`t forget we tried for Vlahovic and Zapata. Knowing we have a lot of cash in the pockets from Lukaku`s sale Atalanta was greedy (40m for fucking Zapata) and our offer for Vlahovic (50m if we believe rumours) was not accepted. As a matter of fact many were against 50m for Vlahovic: what!!! 50m for a half season wonder?

In all my years of watching sports, I'd be hard pressed to see such a rapid decline in performance in my eyes as this guy, sad really. Still, he maybe useful in certain situations but needs to get out of the way in the box though, the opponents don't need another defender, bless his heart.
