Interesting how dead now his thread is... It's like no one wants to argue about anything cause we know him well and there is no point arguing anymore :D

There's neither a top performance nor a major fuckup from him so far so there's nothing really new to discuss. Decent start in his new stint at Inter but it's clear the guy still needs time.

He definitely looks heavy and slow, but he was better than Lecce's game. Anyway, he was quite effective this match. Assist, involved in the second goal, hit the post and set Dumfries in good goalscoring position.

Lukaku strikes fear into defence and this is exactly an upgrade we need from the last season. The first goal was the concrete testament. Watch how Spezia hesitated to press forward because Lukaku could exploit the space behind. You can see Spezia number 14 was marking Lautaro, but when Barella played long ball to Lukaku, he scrambled behind and lost focus marking Lautaro. This is so different with Dzeko at the third goal. See how the defenders were more relaxed chasing Dzeko because they knew they could catch up the dead man walking anythime.

We haven't really seen any chances for him yet to get the ball in space with room to run. Lazio tends to play a more open style. I'm hoping Lukaku has a bit more room to operate on Friday.

I think he's doing pretty well. Still has that power and pace, and I could tell some defenders were spooked when he started running full speed. He's huge lmao.

Can't wait to see how he gels with the team

Say what you want about Lukaku but there is now way you can fault him for his effort and work rate. The way he hustles and harasses is second to none. It may not be easy on the eye but he gives everything he has when he is on the field and that is the exact kind of player we need up front.

It goes without saying that I want to see him contribute and put our incestuous cousins in their place in a couple of weeks time.

Even now, six months after the loss in the February Derby and two months after losing the Scudetto, I can not shake the anger at the way we let things slip and the fact we gifted them number 19.

Wiping the smile of Giroud's Cunt Arse face would be a great place to start!

and that is exacly why dzeko works in europe and lukaku does not people in europe or top team serie a are more afraid of dzeko then lukaku. in europe unlike italy people do not put that much enphasis into big guy beating defense, no defence is scared of lukaku type of player but benzema lewa for sure

Yeah but they play on that tiny Olimpico pitch so the games always seem tight there.

I think no. There are some requirements, but it is not fixed to only one particular dimension as far as I know.
I think it's generally agreed to follow the 105x68 dimensions at the top division. I think Napoli used to have a larger one than average and they were forced to change or something.

It just looks smaller due to the size of stadiums or the closeness of the stands.

Would be interesting to see if there are still differences. If there's a list someone post it on the Serie A thread please.

Apparently you are right. I've checked couple of stadiums and the field dimensions is 105 x 68.

Really nothing new to discuss? I don't remember Lukaku ever playing like this under Conte. He participated with our attacking movements, received and distributed the ball well, made runs to create space for others and also tried to press a little bit. He's no longer the end point in our attack, and it's quite a surprise that he did well.

That's said, it's Spezia so can't say if he will be able to play like this regularly.

Lukaku was quite similar to the present one, when he came from Man U. He was fat, slow and looked always tired, just like now.
