Bayern have their own injury problems. Hernandez, De Ligt, Alphonso Davies, Gnabry, Muller. Musiala also out with covid. Nagelsmann had to use players like Stanisic, Wanner and Thel against Plzen. It will be an open game. But they certainly won't do any favors.

you wrote exactly what is best for us. Points gained in Europa are the same as CL, so let them earn there while we along with Napoli hopefully reach the semis in CL ;)

Speaking of coefficients, i read few days ago if we qualify to the next round it's very likely we will be in Pot 2 next season. Obviously provided we finish in Serie A top 4. 😀

As things stand, we are 14th at the coeff table. There's no guarantee of Pot 2 football though.

The 2020-21 season is a taint that we'll carry for a while so we need to get more points in the coming seasons to sustain a Pot 2 status.

We can reach 12th spot if we do well (which is Roma's btw) but it would take a lot more to get into the top 10 for next season.

The catch is that you have Pot 1 with teams that are locked. Provided that we'll have 6 champions and almost definitely a CL winner from the top 8 teams, there's an EL winner there as well which isn't likely to come from a team ahead of us, but there's a slim chance.
Assuming Bayern and PSG win their respective leagues of course.

That leaves us with a Pot 2 with 3 English teams, 2 Spanish teams (two of Real/Barcelona/Atletico) and then assuming Ajax wins their league (6th in the coeff table) and get a Pot 1 spot, that means that the next teams will be Juventus, Roma and Dortmund. Which makes it 8. So any Liverpool, Chelsea or Manchester United not making CL is good news for us if we don't win the Scudetto (lulz). We'd also welcome a league winner getting the CL on top if we want Pot 2.

But there's a fine margin so far. Roma can advance in Europe even if they fuck up the Europa League. Dortmund's not bad. Villarreal, Sevilla, Napoli and Leipzig are the teams around us with Tottenham following.

Yeah it's an interesting dynamics with the league winners locked in pot 1. Any time some odd winners appear outside of the CL hegemony (us, Milan, Lille) it makes the pot 2 so much tougher.

Roma's position is interesting. Regarding coefficients, it would be better for them to remain 3rd in their EL group to make it to the Conference League as it's so much easier to rack up points there. Roma will have no chance against the clubs dropping out of CL group stage and entering to EL knockouts.

Anyway, making to knockouts fir us is very crucial as it's +5p bonus so it's equal to 2W1D. Inzaghi has done tremendous job in this regard, getting us +10p bonus in total in his two seasons if he wins Plzen at home.

Milan and Jube out of CL means more money for us and Napoli (if we make it through). So, I hope bot of them go to EL. This means potentially more games for them, which is also important for the top 4 race.

Absolutely. Big big credit to inzaghi for this. I've seen many say he's destined to manage in the EPL eventually and he's really showing his football is compatible in the European game.

Iirc there is some regulation how to split the money from TV rights or something. So, the more are the clubs from one country in to the 1/18, 1/14 etc. ,the less money they will get, and vice versa.
Oh the market pool distribution... I forgot about that, thanks!

Is a draw in Salzburg Chelsea game the best result for Milan to be out?

I think if Chelsea loses, Milan will be out for sure given that Chelsea beats Dinamo.

Edit: actually no, even with that Scenario Milan will still qualify if they beat Salzburg. I guess as long as Salzburg doesn't lose against Milan and Chelsea, Milan won't qualify

Unless Salzburg beat Chelsea, Milan's match at Zagreb is a lot more important for the fate of the group. It's entirely in their hands. If they fail to beat Dinamo then they would be in real danger of getting eliminated.
