This is retarded.
Can Inter at least make a deal with a sponsor and use that money solely to renewal Skriniar and sell a % of ownership/sale of Skriniar to the sponsor (you get the jist of it), if they cannot afford what Skriniar is asking for, with a reasonable release clause for summer that other clubs would pay for. There you can at least let him play till the end of this season and maybe even make more profit, and Skriniar can make more in the coming 6 months at least with a higher base salary to negotiate his next one. All 3 parties win.

Hate to see him leave, but if he wants to leave, should we at least do that instead of sell him in this Jan? Which I don't need to point out how bad it is for everyone.

Would be a bit disappointed in skriniar if he does not atleast put pen to paper so we can sell him in june....
If he really cares for Inter, he could do this. New short contract with low release clause (45-50mln) will benefit both sides. Inter will get a guarantee that they will receive some money, and this clause is nothing for rich EPL teams and P$G.

He doesn't even owe us that, I'd say. Doing that would mean that whoever's signing him will offer him a lower salary than they would as a free agent. Why would he do that for us? Loyalty works both ways, and we have not behaved well in any part of this.

Skriniar doesn't owe us anything, we prioritized other players over him, gave bigger wages and made retarded decisions on the transfer market. In the two last seasons only, with more clever operations than Correa's transfer and Lukaku's return we could've afforded to keep Skriniar AND have better strikers. It's not only a judgement on the quality of the players but all the money spent.
Management can only blame themselves, they were stupid with the money and now we're at a point when the best CB in the league is about to be lost for 0€. It's not only on Zhang being a cheapskate, Marotta, Ausilio and Baccin did this (maybe Inzaghi too, because he was probably the one who pushed for Correa).
Next season, extend Lukaku, keep Correa and some other dumb sh*t and we will be saying goodbye to Basto too at this rate.

Offcourse he doesn’t ‘owe’ us anything. But if you have something like love or loyalty for our club in your body you can always sign a contract with a 30 mil release clause or something. That’s still peanuts for the big and rich clubs, so you can still earn 8+ million a season and even get a signing fee. But i know ‘clublove’ isn’t from this time anymore.

Why would he sign anything if others are willing to give him more money than us if he doesn't extend his contract ?
I think nobody can doubt the love of Skriniar for this club even in 2019/2020 when everything was going downhill for him at Inter, benched by Godin/Bastoni he was always a solid soldier who never said anything, since then he has been fantastic for us with always great mentality. What has Inter done so far? Spent millions on deadwood, thrown around money on insane wages...
At the end of the day, this is a business, if at my job I saw people getting raises, even those who left in the past returning with high wages and when I ask for a raise they try to low ball me, I would tell them f*ck off.

what do you guys mean he doesn't owe anything to Inter? He made his name thanks to playing for a big club that has won the Serie A and features in the CL every year. We paid 34M for him when he was a nobody. No other club was interested in him at the time, let alone paying the amount we paid.

And he paid that back with professional behaviour, and overall excellent performance, despite us actively (allegedly) trying to ship him off on multiple occasions. If my employer did that to me, I'd fuck off as soon as possible.

He doesn't owe us shit.

He also fired his agent in 2019 in order to sign a contract extension and stay at the club.

He is being offered the most Inter can give. Same wage as Lautaro. He's not being fucked over, it's just that Inter don't have money.

Why do some of you guys so worried with inter wont get any transfer fee for Skriniar? LoL
Even if they could get transfer fee from selling Skriniar, Suning wouldn't even use half of it for buying new good defender!
And we still are going to sell another player next year regardless LOL
Beside.. If inter really need to sell Skriniar for the transfer fee they can accept anything that Skriniar wanted no bargain and sell him end of season and everybody will be happy.. It's not like Skriniar blatantly rejected inter contract offer, he just want better offer..

I think in the last news Skriniar asked for lautaro money (6,5M a year + 1M add ons) but inter only offer him lower one (6M a year + 500K add ons)

I don't know the exact figures but like @Slavkovski said, I think he wasn't offered the same wages as Lautaro. IDK but if I remember correctly, the difference between offer and demand is like between 500k and 1M which, for me, is nuts to negotiate about for so long and risking losing our best defender for nothing. I'm not saying that we should grant him anything he asks for but come on lol....

my bad then. I thought he was being offered the same... Well, he should get the Lautaro salary if that's what he wants.

Maybe it's time to pay our better players what they deserve and keep them and have youngsters feature more to save money.

Otherwise enjoy your overpaid players starting and best players leaving for free.

Why would be accept a sale in January? He can stay until June and then sign a massive contract with PSG.

We're going to lose him for nothing.
