Most Passionate MemberRules we need to see:
- VAR usage (faster obviously) where a simulation is punished by a yellow card.
- VAR interference to correct possessions (incorrect corner/goal kick, throw ins etc). Obviously needs to be immediate.
- Like the World Cup had, proper stoppage time addition... 20 minutes laying on the floor for no reason = +20 minutes added.
- Allow players to take off their shirts again when scoring. As long as they don't advertise shit underneath.
- Stop offside lurking. Players who are offside at the start of play need to be cleared by a defending player rather than just sit and expect a simple pass and score. Ice hockey has something similar.
- Ref must always blow the whistle to recommence the game. No more pointing the whistle, that's the only normal.
So no more defenders talking with the ref, whilst the attacking team acts smart and goes to attack, or scores a direct free kick while GK still communicates to construct a wall.
- Stop nitpicking with offsides via VAR. Offside should be based on a player's legs only. This isn't a photo finish situation, it's football. Foot. Ball.

Most Diverse PosterI agree with everything, but the official rule is that you are offside with any part that you can score a goal with. Maybe the rule should say just legs or head - with this it would be more fair and also easier for VAR for there to not be any mistakes or gray areas.

10 years of FIFThat would give a huge advantage to attackers. You'd basically be giving them a head start in every race against a defender. It would also make it harder to judge offside for linesmen. Every change to the offside rule has given more advantage to attackers. There's no need to increase it. It's not really solving any problem either.

10 years of FIFI actually read a suggestion for the offside that instead of looking the first part of attaking player's "scoring body" (legs, torso, head) being the trigger, it would be that all of those parts need to be offside so it would be considered offside.
Super fast thought process gives me that it would lead to more goals and then coach's would adapt to it by playing with lower block defence lines? IMO that would be a huge change and I wouldn't categorically oppose it but the scoring records could become incomparable between before and after the change? (although I don't know was VAR a big change in this offside aspect aswell?)

Here's my take on the debate
Robben: He was already considered a huge talent at PSV. At Chelsea when he was fit he was one of their most important players. But he suffered a lot with injuries and Chelsea eventually decided to move on and sold him to Real. At Real he had two good seasons but it was a turbulent era at Real with presidential changes. He paid the price of being a choice of the previous management while Perez wanted to start a new era of galacticos by signing Ronaldo, Kaka, Xabi Alonso, Benzema etc. Robben finally got the credit he deserved at Bayern where he managed to stay fit for most of his career and formed an outstanding duo with Ribery on Bayern wings.
Salah: He was already considered one of Serie A best wingers from his first months at Fiorentina. At Roma he established himself as the best winger of the league and a very crucial component in Spalletti's Roma. He was just on entirely another level at Liverpool, also being aided by Klopp's system, where he was considered in the top 3 players itw at a time
Chiesa: Pre injury Chiesa was one of the most dangerous Juve players, even more dangerous than Dybala, in 2020/21. He was also crucial in Italy's Euro. After injury he looks like a shadow of the player he was. Another issue of Chiesa is he doesn't seem to have a role in Allegri's system. He was used as a wingback, forward, winger but he always seemed to struggle even before his injury.

Here you have a team that's made up of:
De Bruyne, who seems to be hating everyone and everything now for whatever reason
Gundogan, who wants to leave and just got married/had a kid so it's very likely he's following whatever his new wife decides in South Europe
Bernardo Silva, hates living in Manchester and wants to move to Spain
Mahrez, wants out in general
Cancelo, got out already
Julian Alvarez, not really excited to be there
Laporte, wants out
There are several sides here.
First, is that when you read this, you imagine a side that's ready to implode, yet you don't see much friction and you see exemplary football being played by all and they genuinely seem to leave any grievances behind whenever they step on the pitch, at least most of them and most of the time.
This is testament of Guardiola's great work. People shit on him because he has the budget, coaches the best teams and plays Football Manager in real life, but it's not easy to have a bunch of demotivated people and make them appear like top players almost every week and reach the CL final by beating badly two of the traditional powers in the process.
Second, is that this group is not going to last very much longer, so they will give a big fight and win as much as they can whilst they're all together. Because, well, they're all replaceable. Apart from De Bruyne and perhaps Haaland, no other City player is the best in the world at their position and as long as they have the money to spend with Guardiola at the helm, they'll be trying to replace their current players with better ones.
And lastly, back to Capello's statements. This is a team that's playing for a new generation of fans, one that's not really in their faces, it's mostly a global fanbase of young casual television viewers and video game players, so no one around their vicinity will be upset if they lose. They will live with this failure on their own and each to his own capacity to deal with it. Being heavy or even slight favorites, it's insane how much of a challenge it is to have to deal with the fans.
Going back to 1994, Capello's Milan beat Barcelona 4-0 in the final, who were even considered the favorites. Three foreigners rule meant that Michael Laudrup, had to sit out for Barcelona, so the coach Cruyff kind of fucked up there as this was actually the best player of the decade. Living in Barcelona was not easy for anyone. Laudrup switched to Real Madrid and tortured Barcelona, Stoichkov and Romario wanted out and even Cruyff would have left to coach his national team in the 1994 World Cup.
So for whatever it's worth, City do not have that. On one hand, it's a blessing, as they are pressure free, even as heavy favorites. On the other hand, there's also no pressure to win, which is a driving force. It's like a mercenary army. 20 years from now very few of this lot will be fond of their moments with the Manchester City club, they'll remember their teammates and coaches and big moments on the pitch, but it's very hard to grow a bond with the club itself, which is the fanbase.
Whereas at Inter, you see that whether Moratti is the owner, or Thohir, or Zhang, the players love to be here. Whether we're good or shit. Everyone, okay, almost everyone loves Inter.
You can see the cast of players that are coming to see the final. You have Roberto freaking Carlos.. these guys were here for just a year and got transfers because of whatever reason other than them wanting out, and they still cherish the club.
The one name I contest here is Patrick Vieira who also played for City and he was invited by UEFA, not Inter.
Luis Figo will also be there.
Kaka and Seedorf, too, but these are invited by UEFA.
But you see the names of Rodrigo Palacio, a guy who never won anything here and stayed through the shittiest moments of the club. He definitely loves this.
Whereas, I haven't seen City's list, but I imagine the likes of Aguero, Kompany and David Silva will be there. But after that, it's chaos. It just hits differently.

10 years of FIFI don't care about big names moving there, but if a lot of Argentines end up there I might have a look. Just a look, not watch the whole game.
I am not interested in football like I used to anymore. I used to watch a lot more games back then, but I am not really interested in watching random games anymore just to get excited for like 2 minutes!

FIF Special OnesIt would basically have to become the champions league for me to seriously consider watching it. The teams would have to be legitimately on par with the historically big European teams. If Al-Hilal can start beating Real Madrid I’ll start watching.
