Let's not forget that some teams might be selling their CBs this season, like Napoli

The player I really don't at Inter anymore next to Correa is Dumfries.

So I'm thinking, we need to strike fast. I'm okay with keeping Brozo and maybe giving him an extension if we fix our defence this summer. With Pavard here, we would have Pavard and Darmian for RCB, and Pavard, Darmian and Bellanova as RWB. This could work.

Just sell Dumfries, invest that money in Pavard and try to find some free players for midfield and attack, if they are needed. But we need quality in defence and Pavard would be perfect.

If I were Pavard and Liverpool presented a deal that way, I would sign in a second lol.

But I dont think Pavard is that good. He’s an interesting option because he fits what we’re looking for and that’s it. He hasnt really developed at Bayern, couldn’t compete for a spot as CB and was always forced out wide. Liverpool wont center their rebuild around him.

Yeah, I broadly agree. I've not seen him play recently, so I cant comment, but signing the RB-who-wants-to-be-a-CB is hardly what Liverpool nede right now I suspect

While WE do. He is perfect age, knows how to defend, isn't a midget, knows how to pass, he'll be out of contract next summer.

If most of our squad doesn't want to leave, he is the type of player that would fit in our 352.

I don't want to hype myself too much again. After missing out on Bremer and Dybala, I'm gonna be pissed off if we don't try at least at one of Pavard or Firmino.

Pavard is more than good enough for the RCB spot, especially if the cost is at most 25m.

Pavard can't play as rwb. I have seen it at Bayern and it was bad. There's a reason Naagelsmann preferred Gnabry as a wingback and even Stanisic. If we get Pavard his position should be rcb.

Pavard has always been a cb. That's how he made his name at Stuttgart. It was Deschamps who started playing him ass a rb in order to fit all his best defenders in the lineup (also due to lack of a quality rb). He scored the wonergoal against Argentina and since then everyone was convinced he's better as rb. I think rcb in a back 3 is the role that suits him the most.

younger and faster mean more money. and Zhang suning around reluctantly as the name to provide those. Nacho is more sensible name for them and at least for me because he is versatile enough in defense and cheap.

I know, but my point is more... If he's not a starting CB at his existing club, is he going to break into Liverpool as the starting CB that they really need?

Sure, quite possibly yes, but its still a bit risky from their side

Good point but they're also linked with Kounde whose story is actually quite similar. He wants to leave Barcelona because they use him as rb and he wants to play as cb.

Pavard can compete with Matip and Konate for sure, but that would be a very low bar to be considered the center of a project.

Pavard couldn't compete with Upamecano who has not exactly been good, catastrophic even on a bad day. At least Araujo and Christensen have been great for Barca.
