Can you remind me which Italian club failed to qualify from that group?Dortmund and PSG playing the semi final while they were in the same group as well
They're nothing special that's my main pointThats a wrong logic. We would never be last season finalist of CL based on our domestic league performances. Dortmund has a really good players, coach, gameplan, style, and in 2 games they can beat anyone (except City or Real).
Well they were first in group of death, they knocked out Atletico. This result, semifinal, is def not an accident. They're nothing special that's my main point
Milito is a good point, but also Eto´o, Sneijder... we have a problem upfront when it comes to scoring goals. Lautaro as every year dissapears for some months. Thuram can do a lot of things maybe, scoring is anyway not hes talent. Other players are just doing the job but no one was like Sneijder, he was basically assist man and also had a good shot to score. Miky and Barella are not like that, Cahla maybe could, but not in this 352.This thread took a weird turn but since we are on the subject ... Mourinho's Inter was stronger overall but Inzaghi's current Inter is way more entertaining. Mourinho would have never played like this and would have never taken so many risks. Both are some of the strongest teams Inter had but that 2010 team was something else. With a finisher like Milito you can easily argue that this Inter may have reached new heights.
while we keep making excuses like the lack of quality at the bench (which isn't true) others just grind through their way to the semis despite all obstacles.
Agree but defence tend to get disorganized once you replace one of its elements towards the end of the game, especially when the pressure is too high. We have experienced that many times in the past and it always backfired.i dont like our attacking players but we were 1-0 from first game and scored another one making it 2-0
and our defence let them score two goals, good teams dont shit pants like that
defenders fucked us not our attack
I mean I agree with most of the things you said, but this? I think it is more likeSkriniar was almost always fooled by pacy and technical players
It's not their first time. Few years ago they eliminated the holders Liverpool just to get eliminated by Leipzig in the next round. They are a very hot and cold side.Atletico being eliminated by a mediocre Borussia Dortmund team just shows that we could've and should've done better. We missed a golden opportunity to go at least to the semis.
Does that mean Leipzig > Liverpool that year? And that Leipzig player was more world class than Liverpool like a few here suggested yesterday? It's not their first time. Yea looking forward to it. Gonna watch it over man city-real.Looks like Saka and Oodegard are fit, should be a good game.
Davies benched for this game? What a fall from grace. It's an entirely justifiable decision too.
Precisely. And Liverpool fans are still pissed about that elimination and go to sleep crying since then.Does that mean Leipzig > Liverpool that year? And that Leipzig player was more world class than Liverpool like a few here suggested yesterday?
