Yes, that's an option but won't Pereira be better?

I don't trust Maicon since I know he will be off form for most of the campaign.

Agent: "To understand the status of negotiations, you must ask the Portuguese club for more information. They are in fact in talks with Inter. Are we confident? I don't know. Again, you have to ask Porto."

They are stolling time, he does have one year contract so there isnt much Porto can do, + the player dont like to be there. Really dont understand why they dont offload him right away, if the deal is true 13 mill then they should accept it right away instead they wait and wait.

Sneijder
His left foot and stamina and work rate are what we need most urgently. Right now our left flank is still very weak, with only Chivu, Nagatomo, Zanetti and Mbaye as options at LB, and no LW in sight. So we will play with Cassano/Sneijder/Coutinho cutting in from the left, onto their right foot, but meaning we won't get many quality crosses into the box from that flank. Now that Maicon has declined seriously (more mental than physical, but just as impossible to reverse the fact) we need players to pick up that slack. Hopefully Nagatomo and Jonathan are up to the challenge.

But the important thing is that we add someone left-footed, who is full of running. The fact that Pereira can play as LB or LM just makes him that much more valuable to this Inter.

Pereira will be a fullback fulltime with this squad. If Maicon stays great if he doesn't you shift your play to the left. Pereira will give us exactly what Maicon did. He's going to be making a lot of overlapping runs for this side, with a very narrow albero formation. All the hype is behind Cassano and Gargano they will help the side, full time starters lucky if they start 30 games. Thats how bad our finances are ppl are excited about Cassano and Gargano. Those are great buys because of how shitty the fiancial situation is in the European economies and Serie A. Getting Pereira is the best signing this team has made. This signing should be getting all the praise and all the hype Pereira is a beast. Two guys from Porto who will show in Italy why the're worldclass players. Best thing after Pereira would be if Maicon restructures his contract and stays on with this side. Then we would truly have a great mercato and compete for the scudetto

That's not the only reason. He became a troublemaker last season. And in my opinion Porto has better players for that position. It's like Guarin or Meireles from Chelsea. If they stayed they wouldn't be first choice. It's the same with A. Pereira.

From FCInternews and googletranslate:

Alvaro Pereira is very close to Inter. Confirmation of the news FcInterNews.it come directly from Sky. the Nerazzurri will raise the offer to 13 million, of which 10 of the fixed and 3 bonus. Within the next 48 hours you can close the transaction. "The middleman who is overseeing the deal is very optimistic," says Luca Marchetti.

Didn't they reject $20 million last season for him? I think it's a great deal and a great player. I seen him a lot playing for Porto and Uruguay and he is a beast and can actually cross.

I haven't seen Debuchy much, but from what i've seen, Pereira >>>>>>>>>> Debuchy, is not even close. It's very hard to find left footed FB these days, quality one. And Pereira is very quality.

Keep Maicon (Jonathan as a backup) bring Pereira (Naga as a backup).
Send Handanovic back to Udinese and keep Julio, use the money of Handano to buy a strong CB Or a Backup for Milito.

And we are DONE

Gargano and Pereira are colleagues from Uruguay NT and he also played with Guarin at Porto ?
Nice... they could get accustomed to the surroundings easily :)

Handa > JC + he is younger + makes less money
We should give Jonathon 2 million dollars and tell him to go retire or go to school and become a engineer or something as he shouldn't be playing soccer. Zanetti is Maicons backup or they can rotate every other game and have a good competition to hopefully motivate Maicon to try

too late to bring in a CB. Maybe in December but we are going to end up over paying. We should have gone for Astori but it didn't happen.
