Nostalgia really fucks shit up.

Cruz was crap. Forget his construction worker kiss ass persona.

I hope you don't mind me saying but you are completely fuckwitted.

Julio Cruz was awesome!

Likening him to Eder or suggesting that our love and respect for him is down to nostalgia is way off the mark.

I am proud that he was black and blue.

Honestly I remember really disliking Cruz back in the day because he would get playing time over players that I liked way more. On the other hand he would score almost every time, he was the definition of impact sub, as much as I didn't want to see that then.

I am the very same, as a young fan I didn't appreciate the impact Cruz had for Inter and hated seeing him warming up. But when I look back now I also remember the important goals he scored off the bench. He was most definitely our equivalent of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with a near similar goals to game ratio.

Never thought I'd see someone compare Eder to him...

Icardi beat him already I guess and Cruz scores againts Milan more IIRC, only his Juve goal is memorable since its hard to winning againts them especially if your forward Cruz and Martins no one thought they gonna win.

Super sub scored more goals against Gobbi than Milan. He was also a very underrated free kick specialist. He would walk into any post treble era team while Eder was a backup.

YEP Cruz was amazing. Not the most talented or flashy striker we have had but for me easy the best 3rd/4th choice striker we ever had.
Yes we had bigger names sitting on the bench but nobody preformed from the bench like cruz did! Also he never complained in all his years here he never complained about being 3rd choice and when ever called into action he preformed. Heck if i remember right in 04/05 or 05/05 he even outscored Adriano.
I would always take a player like cruz in my team he was good, preformed when needed, never created troubles and probably was one of the cheapest strikers we ve had over the years.

The fact that he used to score against jube was just the cherry on the top.

Cruz was about ten times the player Eder is.

Cruz can pass and setup goals for other team members, has aerial advantage for both goals and long passes, and has good finishing as well.

It's crazy he was a 5th striker at one point, what a waste of talent.

No wonder we got punished with players 10x less quality on the bench for years after.

Finally gone, too late but I`m happy we finally manage to get rid of the dead.

Eder: ‘Inter will fight for Scudetto’

Eder predicts Inter “will fight at the top” of Serie A this season, and believes “with Antonio Conte on the bench, Italy would have gone to Russia”.

The forward has left the Nerazzurri for Jiangsu Suning, and he sat down with Gazzetta dello Sport to look back on his time in Italy.

“I’ll never forget my three years at Inter,” Eder said.

“It wasn’t easy to give up the Champions League but I made the right choice. I had the chance to go to China two years ago after the European Championships but I said no, it wasn’t the right time.

“Now it’s different, I wanted a change of scenery and I have no regrets.

“Inter? It’s a strong team, last season we created an important foundation for the future. Everyone was pulling in the same direction.

“There’s discussion in a dressing room, of course, but the final objective was the same.

“[Coach Luciano] Spalletti wants to win the Scudetto, there’s no doubt about it, and Inter have to get back to lifting trophies soon. I’m sure they’ll fight at the top.

“Some good players have come in, [Kwadwo] Asamoah and [Radja] Nainggolan prove the club has big ideas.

“As for Lautaro Martinez, he has desire, physical strength, technical qualities and a tough character. He has everything to became an important man for Inter’s future.

“Then with [Mauro] Icardi he has the right person to learn from. I’ve known Mauro since we were together at Samp and he’s incredible, he gets better every season.

“When I think about last season we dropped too many points against the medium and small teams, which is the real difference with Juventus.

“If Spalletti manages to eliminate this defect, Inter will be able to play on equal terms.”

Eder is also an Italian international, and went to the European Championships with Antonio Conte.

“He’s different from the others, he’s maniacal.

“Go and watch the first goal against Belgium from the European Championships. For an entire week before the game he’d been explaining the movements, and the goal came just like that.

“Those are the things that win a player over. He treats everyone the same, in the national team I saw him talk to me, then a minute later speak to [Gianluigi] Buffon in exactly the same way.

“I can only thank him, he allowed me to live a dream. I remember everyone slaughtered us, they said: ‘where can Italy go with [Graziano] Pellè and Eder’. And yet…

“Giampiero Ventura? All I can say is that with Conte on the bench Italy would have gone to Russia with a cigarette in the mouth. What happened in the dressing room before Italy-Sweden just wouldn’t have happened.”

Eder is lowkey one of the best in the world. He just doesn’t need to show it.

If those figures are accurate then I feel like Alexis Sanchez at €29m/year is even more offensive.

Eder: “Leaving Inter Was Difficult But I Wanted To Try A New Experience” - 10q for doing this for us!

eder.jpg

Former Italian international striker Eder, who left Inter to join Jiangsu Suning FC this past July, was interviewed by Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, where he spoke on among other things why he left the Nerazzurri.

The former Sampdoria man began by talking about his last season at Inter stating that: “We were a group, a real group. Sure, last season Mauro [Icardi] was decisive on many occasions, but we returned to the Champions League thanks to the team being united.

“Yes, leaving Inter was very difficult, but I wanted to try this new experience. When I presented with this possibility to go to China Inter told me: ‘either go there or stay here. Don’t go any other place.’ When you move to China there is the economic side of it but if you dont enjoy it and feel bad it is not good. In fact we have a strong staff and all the conditions to feel good. I am very impressed by the high level. Many people might think that I’ve come here for the money, but it is also important to feel well, play and enjoy yourself. I have played against Lavezzi and Pato, when I return I will meet up with Guarin. I also spoke with Graziano [Pelle], he is happy too. Also, my dad can see the matches on TV in Brazil, so Chinese football is growing, there is a great organization” Eder continued.

In conclusion Eder was asked about Inter’s start to the season stating that: “We’re only at the beginning of the season. The team has changed a lot, many new players have come in. In the long run it will be the Inter that Spalletti wanted, a team that can fight and play to win the Scudetto.”

- at least he realized he can`t help any more and he left, unlike others..

Everytime I come to this thread, I think something went terribly wrong in my life. This guy is only 31, went to China after a bad season and is now one of the best paid football players in the world. And when he'll retire in some years he'll be still in a better shape than I ever was and has more money he'll ever be able to spend.
